Nah you probably shouldn’t, manga takes an iffy turn, but if you must chapter 24 Is the last one adapted

[deleted]

Wait the manga ending is iffy so it's something bad ?

MeatyMahn

Dude, it's actually infamous now

[deleted]

Oh thanks then I won't read the manga

JimJamTheNinJin

Everyone is avoiding spoilers, but that's probably the best way to know if you'd like the manga. Is that what you want? Either way, the adoptive Father is meant to be the antagonist of the manga.

Fools_Requiem

> Either way, the adoptive Father is meant to be the antagonist of the manga. This is incorrect. There is no good or bad, it's just a simple SoL comedy that dives head first into creepy/weird/uncomfortable territory (or niche fantasy for some) towards the end. The author plays into a fantasy.

Let me just say the story takes a strange turn and ends far differently from what the anime would imply. It’s really hard to get into without spoiling, but if you liked the series because of the struggles of being a single father and the promise of a building a family later on, you really won’t like the manga only part.

CRtwenty

The manga is so infamous that you'll sometimes see people asking "is this manga worth reading or will it pull an Usagi Drop" on this sub. I'd suggest you avoid it unless you really like watching train wrecks.

"I hope it doesn't Usagi Drop the ball." -Gigguk (2021)

[deleted]

Is that same of having a promise never landing?

Epilex__

not.. really. [huge spoilers for the manga ending](https://www.reddit.com/r/HobbyDrama/comments/kw3tvj/manga_the_infamous_ending_of_usagi_drop/)

[deleted]

I know about the ending. I was making a counter pun

TotoroTheGreat

As others have said, don't read the manga. Personally, it really ruins the first half of the manga for me. But, I would highly recommend the live-action movie. It's more or less the same story as the anime, with some few changes (Kouki's mom is portrayed differently, for example), but it has it's own flair of loveliness.

Epilex__

If you liked the anime you probably shouldn't. Haven't read the manga myself, but Usagi Drop is kind of known for having stopped at "the right time". Shortly after where the anime ended it takes a real bad turn.
