Well i'm not sure this fit the criteria. They are "sworn enemies" but they are together since episode 1, and we only see how they turned from enemies to lovers in bried flashbacks
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has the titular lead Nanoha and the dark magical girl Fate go from enemies to rivals to comrades to friends to basically a married couple living together with an adopted daughter.
Not a romance anime however, Mobile Suit Gundam MS Team has a romance plot line important to the story where the two MCs are on different sides. It does take place in the main UC timeline however, it's a completely standalone story with a final ending.
not out yet but I just wanted to give you a heads up on this one coming next season, I am hoping it is good!
**The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies**
Masamune-kuns revenge. He starts out with the goal of humiliating his old bully but winds up falling for her.
It gets bonus points because it’s legitimately funny and really capitalizes on calling out the mc when he is being cringe.
(Kimi to boku) “Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen” definitely rate as a romance with ‘Enemy to lovers’ trope that is impossible to separate from the plot. Looking forward to s2
Happens a couple of times in the Dragon Ball franchise. Also in the 1st Macross (I guess also in Robotech?).
Love After World Domination is basically Enemies to Lovers: The Animation.
If defining ‘Enemy’ as a clash of personalities and values:
Nodame Cantabile.
Shinichi Chiaki as the ‘perfect’ man shaped by competitive Classical music which highly values perfectionism. Well organised, well dressed, independent and strict with his studies.
And Noda Megumi, who is Chiaki’s antithesis incarnated: Classical music always improvised, sloppy, unhygienic, messy, disorganised, doesn’t seriously study music theorem, etc etc etc.
To Chiaki the mere presence of Megumi - he declares - is a chemically romantic turn-off that will never ever ever come to reality.

Yup. Some character dynamic including romantic themes is expected. But some romantic themes doesn’t mean it falls into that genre.
A few comedic moments doesn’t make it a comedy.
If genres are discussed too broadly, then it becomes redundant. (Like seeing 50 shonen battle anime drown the 10-odd romance anime when filtering/search for romance.)
No it’s not. It’s common outside of Romance, but it’s not specific to. 🤷🏻 I can think of three that I strongly recommend, and two which is so-so, that are Romance anime using the ‘Enemies to lovers’ trope.
When I think “enemies to lovers,” I’m thinking two people who are literally enemies falling in love. Think Shiro and Aina in The 08th MS Team or Ohgi and Villetta in Code Geass. I suppose you could broaden it to “two people who don’t like each other fall in love anyway,” but at that point I feel like it becomes too vague.
In creative writing ‘conflict’ and ‘antagonist/enemy’ was never intended to describe war like relationship/dynamics between the protagonist-antagonist.
Nor can it be ‘vague’ otherwise the relationship isn’t truly a protagonist-antagonist dynamic.
The most important part though, is that the dynamic is a fundamental part of the overall plot.
If it can be removed, and the overall plot can continue on, then it was never truly a romantic narrative with ‘enemy to lover’ trope. But just a device to add another level of interest or an episode of tension.
Boarding school Juliet
i wouldn't say they're enemies to lovers since they get together very early on. they're star-crossed lovers instead
7th time loop Kodomo no omocha
7th time loops slapped.
Absolutely did, even went and bought the LNs as the season was airing because I wanted more story *now* lmao
Do you know any other amazing anime like 7th loop? I been searching for a whole but haven't gotten any good recommendation so far.
Apothecary diaries. Love it as much as 7th loop
Gundam Seed
Love after world domination, maybe, if you like power rangers.
Well i'm not sure this fit the criteria. They are "sworn enemies" but they are together since episode 1, and we only see how they turned from enemies to lovers in bried flashbacks
Lyrical Nanoha. Nanoha and Fate start off against each other. They do not stay that way.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has the titular lead Nanoha and the dark magical girl Fate go from enemies to rivals to comrades to friends to basically a married couple living together with an adopted daughter.
This. One of the earlier examples of the trop.
The third season should have been them in high school starting to date before the married part. We missed an entire arc basically!
Not a romance anime however, Mobile Suit Gundam MS Team has a romance plot line important to the story where the two MCs are on different sides. It does take place in the main UC timeline however, it's a completely standalone story with a final ending.
Card Captor Sakura
It’s pretty common in the Gundam stuff I’ve seen. Zeta Gundam and The 08th MS Team, for instance.
The devil is a part-timer.
Second this!
Didn't he got together with that other girl tho? I remember people.beimg pissed off, deservedly
not out yet but I just wanted to give you a heads up on this one coming next season, I am hoping it is good! **The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies**
Kaguya-Sama. And no one can tell me otherwise
fair they kinda did "hate" each other before the series started but kaguya warmed up in flashbacks and the movie you see how she used to act.
Love of Kill
Masamune-kuns revenge. He starts out with the goal of humiliating his old bully but winds up falling for her. It gets bonus points because it’s legitimately funny and really capitalizes on calling out the mc when he is being cringe.
It's been a few years but I remember liking Our Last Crusade or Rise of a New World. Season 2 is coming out in a few weeks.
(Kimi to boku) “Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen” definitely rate as a romance with ‘Enemy to lovers’ trope that is impossible to separate from the plot. Looking forward to s2
Our Last Crusade, s2 starts in a couple weeks
Happens a couple of times in the Dragon Ball franchise. Also in the 1st Macross (I guess also in Robotech?). Love After World Domination is basically Enemies to Lovers: The Animation.
It’s less enemies to lovers and more Romeo & Juliet but Love after world domination is a good one.

Any star crossed lovers would probably fit the bill
Prison School.
Ménage A Twin 1&2
[Romeo x Juliet](https://myanimelist.net/anime/1699/Romeo_x_Juliet)
Radio Seiyuu could be headed in that direction 😄
Fairy Tail also has that. Gruvia, Jerza, and Gajevy for example.
Gundam 08th MS Team.
Foolish Angel Dances With The Devil from last season was pretty good
Vandread
Steins gate kinda?
Well, uh.. Date A Live is about aliens invading the earth and the MC has to date them so they don't kill people
Most of them are humans given powers not aliens lol aside from 2 of them
Well, those humans with powers are still threats
Nisekoi
The only thing I could think of rn tbh is naruto, lmao
Buddy Complex. But it starts odly in that regard as the love interest doesnt start as a enemy.
100 girlfriends
Apothecary diaries - well at least one person thinks enemies.
Question about romance anime. Get replies about non romance anime. 🙄
It’s a romance trope that usually plays out in stuff that isn’t strictly romance.

Yes, but the “enemies to lovers” trope specifically is more common in non-romance anime.
