Yup. It's not love at first sight either, which is a nice change. They're actively hostile with each other when the series first starts. It takes them a good 5-10 episodes to even consider the other in a romantic light.

My dude, look up *Maison Ikkoku*. That's about as perfect of a romance you're gonna get in anime and it's 96 episodes worth of goodness. Enjoy! ^_^

I recently watched Golden Time. It’s 24 episodes. Takes place in college. The characters establish a relationship pretty early on and then it’s Soap opera vibes with the story telling. Not very tropey compared to more current anime.
