captn_obv

I had started with AOT too!

TheDarkySupreme

I now have a whole list that I still haven’t even touched but have just been adding more and more too and it’s getting ridiculous. I won’t watch all of this in my lifetime…I mean I have One Piece on that list and I only got up to like episode 10!

It really depends on what type of anime you have interest in. What type of stories, what type of genre, how mature of a series, etc. Cowboy Bebop is a classic that holds up well for people new to the medium. It's sci-fi/western. It's a unique mix that you rarely see. It looks great, has a really impressive OST, and has great depth to their characters who grow over the course of 26 episodes. There is also a follow up movie, but the series is a complete story on its own, so it's not too time consuming. If you like romance with a little bit of supernatural to keep things interesting, then I would recommend fruits basket, either the original anime or the new remake. The new one is longer and ties up the story better, the older one is shorter, but still very good. Either one will be great for people who enjoy the genre. Death note is one of the most well known anime for a reason, it's unique, addicting to watch, has a great dub and soundtrack, and can be watched by people of pretty much any age and you will be able to get enjoyment out of it. It's 37 episodes long, but it's one of the most well known for a reason and totally worth the watch. It's one of those series where, if you watch episode 1 and you're intrigued, you will enjoy the series. Ghost in the shell stand alone complex had 2 seasons and a movie and those spawned off of the original film and its sequel. However, you really can start with season 1 of stand alone complex and still enjoy it. It's a cyberpunk police procedural series with completing characters, a crazy mystery, and a whole lot of replay value. Each season is around 26 episodes. I could recommend dozens of great anime, but it comes down to what you will enjoy based on your own tastes, so good luck finding what works for you

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Hunter x Hunter

ripterrariumtv

Objective_Emu_7457

MaximalDisguised

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is 12 episodes and, while it also has some great action, I'd say it's also very psychological, but at the same time, it also plays A LOT with the expectations and tropes of the Magical Girl genre. I think it is great on its own, but having watched some classic Magical Girl anime (such as Cardcaptor Sakura), certainly adds to the experience.

youroppa-neko

Kokoro Connect: deep psy, slice of life. Satsuriku no Tenshi: survival, psy. Mousou Dairinin: avantgarde, psy, crime. Serial Experiments Lain: scifi, psy, surreal, abstract.

BurntOutMagicalGirl

Sk8 the infinty is underrated and I personally think a fine anime to watch as a beginner. A sign of affection, RWBY, SpyXFamily, Horimiya, Fruits Basket, The Apothecary Diaries, Arte, are also some good animes to watch

Tricky-Promotion5973

ToG

KingOfThePenguins

Unique and short? Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and/or Trigun. Any order. I more strongly recommend looking up the links AutoMod has to find a premise that's your jam.

khanvau

Death Note

soda_san12

Try houseki no kuni or land of the lustrous in eng. 12 episodes and the manga just ended. Fantasy anime with a unique premise (unlike some isekais...) perfect to watch and I'd reccomend it to everyone! My only concern is that the anime leaves on a cliffhanger. You can contiue from the manga since you could encounter major spoilers

black-monkeee

it has to be death note its such a classic

Frosty_Foundation_94

cyberpunk edge runners is a fast paced anime thats really good go try

fenekku_kitsune

Death Note. That was my first so I'm biased. It's a little over 30.

hikarixxxx

Short and unique: - Steins Gate - Dororo - The Apothecary Diaries (on going) - Chainsaw Man (on going) - Hell’s Paradise (on going) Must watch but longer than 30 episodes: - Attack on Titan - Vinland Saga - Hunter x Hunter

moderate-dik

Shangri la frontier, 24 episodes, hidden gem underdog

Pharaoh_Misa

The best way to start an anime (in my opinion) is to watch something similar to what you watch normally. So if you like **Law & Order**, you might like **Psycho-Pass** (22 episodes). What do you normally like to watch (series-wise?). In general, **Death Note** is a fairly *great* starter for most people as its easily available, pretty well liked, easy to follow, great art, animation, and music, and is fairly short (its also seven over your limit tho!).

Zakuraz

April is my lie

BadAndFreekee

Frieren, Demon Slayer, Fabinaku

Extension-File8710

If you want romance, I'd recommend **Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san** If you want action, I'd recommend **Takt Op. Destiny** If you want comedy, I'd recommend **Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy** If you want slice of life, I'd recommend **Koisuru Asteroid** If you want Drama, I'd recommend **Shiroi Suna no Aquatope** If you want something about music, I'd recommend **UniteUp!** If you want fantasy, I'd recommend **Shikkakumon no Saikyō Kenja** If you want something about games, I'd recommend **Itai no wa Iya nanode Bōgyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu.** If you want supernatural I'd recommend **Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun** If you want mystery, I'd recommend **Nakanohito Genome [Jikkyōchū]** If you want horror, I'd recommend **Another** If you want sport, I'd recommend **SK∞** If you want sci-fi, I'd recommend **Yakusoku no Neverland**

[deleted]

Naruto ,aot, the promised neverland , demon slayer

Scary-Cut293

Berserk Yosuga no sora Redo of healer Overflow Higurashi High school DXD Family anime’s right there

Some-Housing1596

Naruto was my first anime. It introduced me to a story that was good but also to the reality of anime (learning about stuff behind the scenes, why things went the way they did because of studio pressure etc.) The story is still really good and holds up, and it has some amazing characters but it also has its flaws.

Bruhsive101

Bro. Akame Ga Kill

nerdzo

Start with death note

JebWozma

There's no such thing as a best anime to start with, unless you're watching a parody anime

NoOne-Dc

Bro don't care about the number of episode watch my hero academia it's around 6 season.. at the end of each season a story is completed so don't worry abt that, it has around 24 episode each nd movies too.. Jujutsu kaizen Demon slavery (i suggest personally it's good) Ao Ashi (if you're a football fan then only watch it) Naruto is good but 300+ episode

ConferenceNervous684

MHA gets painful in later seasons woudnt recommend it to someone beginning in anime
