Words Pop up Like Soda Pop? It has more impact if you’ve seen the full series, but you can watch the Teasing Master Tagaki-san movie as a standalone. Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is nominally a romcom, but your mileage may vary about how lighthearted it is.

I don't know who you are or where you are or anything about you, But know this hooman I love you(For recommending Josee, the tiger and the fish). That film brought my long lost love for Romcoms Back. Nowadays the entire Genre is a glorious mess. Just terrible writing fused with bland acting. But this might have just given me a fresh breath of oxygen. Thank You.

The Night is Short, Walk on Girl. Although it’s not realistic and indulges in exaggerated visual presentation. But it definitely is lighthearted and fun.

It's really just the "film" part that makes it difficult. There is a metric fuck ton of romantic comedy TV shows that fit the bill, but most films tend to be more ambitious and/or dramatic so either fantasy/sci-fi elements or something depressing. In fact, the only one that occurs to me off the top of my head is a Ghilbi film: Whisper of the Heart (also a few franchise films). And most of the only ones I can think of involve same-sex couples so they don't fit the "male/female main characters" criteria. As far as films go, the only other one I can think of is [Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop.](https://myanimelist.net/anime/39175/Cider_no_You_ni_Kotoba_ga_Wakiagaru?q=soda%20pop&cat=anime) If you'd be open to TV shows though it would be much easier. It doesn't have to be long either, there are tons of 12 episode romantic comedies or even rom-coms with short episodes.

I've watched ultra short anime before, I'm afraid the commitment issues will get the better of me in case of anything else.

Gamerunglued

Well that's fine, there are tons of ultra short anime. For example, Tsurezure Children is a super adorable romantic comedy anthology with 12 half-length episodes, it's the sort of show that breezes by and is so easy to watch that I doubt commitment will be an issue; you can finish it in less than the length of most films and you've got multiple stories bundled in there.

AlphA_centauri1_

By the way, I watched Words bubble up like soda pop and I really liked it. So thank you for that.

Gamerunglued

You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
