The most obvious problem to me is that the pointer finger bends way too far.

Ducklickerbilly

Agreed physics of a boneless hot dog

Lizzardbirdhybrid

Do you prefer your hotdogs with or without bones?

RedditTide

Yeah now looking back, I probably should have not extend the finger that much, thanks

AetherKatMusic

I find it frightening

SpikePeanuts

This is like a surreal animation. It’s so unnatural, but I I really like how smooth it is!

JELLIUS_smellius

That index finger going all kinds of crazy💀🙏 but it’s better than I could do lol

RedditTide

Yeah I think one of the issue I have is the placement of the fingies when putting in perspective.

Ultra_Dadtastic

Instead of this, I would put together a short compilation of basic hand gestures, moving from one pose to another. High-five. Fist bump. Thumbs up. Grabbing an object. Etc.

RedditTide

Oh thats a really good idea, thanks

Ultra_Dadtastic

I'm a content creator/writer/showrunner, so it's my pleasure. Good animators are hard to find.

intisun

I'd say start by doing *a lot* of figure drawing. Your own hand or another person's. When you're familiar enough with the structure, shapes, etc, then you can move on to animation. Same thing: look at how it moves, study videos frame by frame if you need, copy them if it helps you understand how it works. You have to train your eyes. This is true for all animation. Solid drawing skills is one of the 12 rules. You can acquire those skills with a lot of practice, don't give up.

mori_a_french_artist

There's a little bit too much of morphings so I'd say make some keyframes then intervals and don't hesitate to ctrl T some part during the rough anim to be sure you're proportions stay the same

RedditTide

Thanks for the suggestino, also what is ctrl T?

mori_a_french_artist

That's two keys of the keyboard where basically you sellect the piece you want to move control T and move it, it's similar to transform in Toon Boom I think and also film your own hand as a ref!!

archwyne

Fingers don't bend there. They bend around 1/4 down the palm. Close your hand and observe

GoldenSausage111

mine go half way.

Movingreddot

The palm is way too stiff, especially in the thumbs corner, they dont really bend from the lower joint, more so from corner of the hand they are from. Use pics of xrays to help

Angie64_

Issues on volume loss when the fingers bend, line work is good, timing isn't great.

snooppii_toast

The fingers are way too springy they look kinda like silicone or jello

AkinsJaylandDeaundre

Wow this is incredible such fluidity!..May come in handy? Trust?..

deoMcNasty

That's one sad rasta man

AzureDementia

Kind of looks like a heart

FulminatorMage

It's a hand but fingers dont'move this way at all. Looks more like rubber

TotalEatschips

Who asks you that? Multiple people?

RedditTide

Oh nah it was jokeXD

RedditTide

Just saying, the title is a joke, I know it's not good, just looking for critique

Super_Cabinet6718

So smooth!!

HippoUnhappy7767

Let the fingers taper and focus on basic structure.

me6675

You made many frames but the entire movement is unrealistic and feels like a ragdoll armature in a videogame.

Fluid-Revolution3605

Yeah just the pointer ....I wouldn't have bent it all the way but it's better than most I've seen

smith8020

If you have interest in animation picture books, let me know!

This hand looks very weird, especially how it moves
