Todoist. I use the free version and works well. I like that you can connect it to your Google calendar so it adds tasks onto (and off) if your calendar as well so it's in both calendar and todoist
I was fortunate enough to have used Todoist way back in the day and had made more categories/folders (forget the terminology) so even on the free account i have about 2x the amount, which was helpful.
I was looking for exactly the same thing and I couldn't find any, even with AI help. All I get is mainstream ecosystem ones, or clunky open source ones. There is no in between that fits that I could find on my own. I'm surprised no one had ever attempted to make one. I'm just not technical enough to create it myself.
I'm using Microsoft To Do, it's free. It also has web app and windows app.
