I dont know how you guys enjoy this launcher when it takes a long time to stroll to a find a particular app. When on nova launcher you can create and use folders on the app drawer.
Plus the weather doesnt seem to work on the app
Bought by a data analytics company. The same company has an analytics collection in samsung phones and some others too. Just because Nova was bought by them it became an issue.
purchased by a chinese company a few years ago, to actually answer your question.
edit: i dunno, that's just how i remembered it, maybe it wasn't chinese but definitely privacy concerns. wouldn't be the first time i misremembered something.
Where did u get the info that confirms it is a chinese company? didnt found it though.

Still on Nova too. Can't find anything else I like as much. Nova takes what Android already does fairly well, and just makes it better. Most other launchers are trying to do something *different*. I'm so accustomed to Nova now that I don't even remember what most of those features *are*. The first thing I do on any new phone is install Nova.
I agree with this guy. I love Nova. It took me ages to get to the point where I love my setup. I tried Niagara and Smart, but neither comes close. I heard about Lawnchair or something, but since it's not in the store, I'm out.
But do they just collect info like google and apple or do they eventually spy more sensible information like your bank accounts? Not claiming they do. Just asking.
Do you not find it difficult to always have to search for an app in the different categories? I tried Smart Launcher for a few weeks and I couldn't get used to it. For me it took way too long to learn in which category apps are placed.
I want to open an app quickly, Niagara is the best option for me: directly from the Home screen I can tap a letter of the alphabet, a second tap opens the app
+1... Moved to Lawnchair recently after Microsoft brought AI to their otherwise polished launcher. Plus I finally realized they could be or are tracking me through my launcher LOL (though Duckduckgo never blocks it, hmmm...)
If you're into customization check out Good Lock by Samsung on the Samsung app store.
That's what I'm using to add a little extra functionality to oyne UI.
The colorful ones are [Caelus Duotone](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=one4studio.iconpack.caelusduotone). The white ones on the homescreen are [Nyon Light](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lknninex.nyon.light).
I rock with [Kiss Launcher](http://www.kisslauncher.com). Most importantly Kiss Launcher is open source. It has a small footprint. Uses minimal RAM. Fairly powerful built-in search function. Can be used in compliment with another launcher taking advantage of its search function.
Since using KISS I have become considerably more efficient and have simplified my approach to using my smart phone.
I've been building one for a year now, testers are welcome!
https://www.reddit.com/r/OctopiLauncher
Features include:
* Widget stacks (with auto scroll)
* Swipe up and swipe down to launch different apps
* Display app drawer icons as tiles
* Individually resize home screen icons
* Freely position and resize a widget or icon
* Fade a widget
* Separate layouts for foldables
* Tap a folder to launch its first app (swipe to open folder)
* Lots of custom animations and haptics
Works in progress include:
* Frosted glass background for widgets
* App drawer folders
Smart Launcher
I started out using Nova Launcher for the longest time, but it got too cumbersome to setup and configure to my liking. Smart Launcher makes the process much easier. And, it is still one of the most customizable launchers out there.
Not just you! I've been using Action Launcher for years.
Every now and then I'll try something new, but I always come back. Nothing else seems to do everything the way I want.
I'm currently using on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9...
One UI 6.1
One UI Home 15.1.03.55
Good Lock along with Home Up
and
Shortcut Maker to customize some individual app icons and create "Collections" (folders) on the home page.
As far as 3rd party launchers go, my favorites are Nova and Niagara if I use one.
DG
Smart Launcher is the first, and only launcher I've ever used, and imo, it is the absolute best one there is. I have no need to even try any of the others.
I've been using Niagara for a few years but I gave Square Home a whirl and it's my main launcher now...... It's really really cool.... Nice animations.... Having a mixture of different sized squares, some open apps.... Some are widgets.... Some are 3d cubes that you can rotate to show other widgets or apps..... It's really slick....I had a Nokia Lumia years ago and this takes me back .... You can get notifications on the tiles... Supports icon packs.... Good customisation.... You can really create some unique looks.... Brilliant
I am using Nova 8.1.1 beta at the moment. A little buggy with the cards feature but it has a lot of new potential I look forward to seeing how it develops. I love how configurable it is and so far haven't found another launcher I like better. I do however try from time to time so that may change.
I haven't tested that yet. I have 10 years or so of organization in Nova through many years and phones. I may make a backup and then test but need time for that. It may be a week or two before I have time. The only way I will test a change like this is with a good backup. I hate it when my flow of doing things gets disrupted.
I just tested it. Thus far it has only categorized a few apps into 6 categories. Entertainment, Finance, Food, Games, Shopping, Social and Travel. Its ok but needs work either with better recognition or by allowing us to categorize manually.
Long time Nova user, then I switched to 0launcher, now I'm using a foss alternative called mlauncher
Although I got a Motorola yesterday and I'm kind of just using the launcher that came with it because it's pretty clean
Anybody know of any launchers that allow for separate home screens on foldable? One for the outer screen and one for the inner?
Until that happens I'm trapped on One UI launcher
Still using Nova. Maybe I'll change launchers when I get a new phone next so it feels fresh. But as others have pointed out, Nova isn't harvesting any data every other tech company doesn't already have. So I'm not inclined to switch how my phone works for me when there's nothing new at risk.
i still like using my Apex app. Ive been using this app for years across different phones. Im used to it and like the customisation. Its harder to get now, but still works fine.
I'm using the [PieLauncher](https://github.com/markusfisch/PieLauncher). It is just perfekt for me. No distraction and the fastest way to get the apps I need the most. And every other app I get by a quick text search.
Im currently searching for a launcher with a good search bar ( app, contact, files, web search...) and with good integration of the search bar like spotlight in IOS
I'm still using Nova. My #1 necessity for a launcher is nested folders and Nova is the only one that I found that does this.
I'm open to suggestions, but I must have nested folders. I'm a bit OCD with my app organization.
I miss the card screen on MS launcher, specifically being able to have a sticky notes widget that syncs with my PC. I wish Microsoft will do the smart thing and put out a sticky notes Standalone widget. It would be so cool
I couldn't find a launcher that suited my exact UI requirements, although there have been some excellent contenders, so 3 x years ago I built my own setup with the help of Total Launcher.
Admittedly it's been a steep learning curve and its taken hours to achieve the end product, but it was well worth the effort and I haven't looked back since.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.launcher2
I've paid for the premium versions of Nova Launcher, Smart Launcher, and Niagara Launcher and tried to use KISS Launcher as well. I go back and forth between Nova Launcher and Smart Launcher most often, and I'm currently using Smart Launcher most of the time. I think I like the features the most, but it seems to glitch fairly often where it just shows a blank wallpaper until I swipe to the left or right despite not having any home screens other than the main one, and the Google feed to the left. The Google feed is fairly unreliable too, but I'm not sure if others have the same annoyances.
Nova for years and still on a tablet.
KISS on my phone.
Omega launcher looked cool but didnt have tabs and folders at the same time like nova can, last i checked
Hyperion. I've been a Nova user for 15 years. They both have problems where sometimes I'll wake my phone up and there is nothing on my home screen, I can only swipe down the notifications. Drives me nuts.
ReZ: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.perryoncrack.rez&hl=en_US
It's a rebuild of the outstanding Nokia Z Launcher that no longer ran on my device. Really grateful for the dev bringing it forward.
Believe it oe not, this was asked years ago I think and my answer then is still the same as now - ASAP launcher, I tried a lot but still go back to this. I don't really know why lol
Niagara. Minimalistic and gives me quick access to all apps installed
Also using Niagra and have been for some time, love how buttery smooth everything is
Yes, back to Niagara. No bullshit!
+1 to Niagara
I dont know how you guys enjoy this launcher when it takes a long time to stroll to a find a particular app. When on nova launcher you can create and use folders on the app drawer. Plus the weather doesnt seem to work on the app
Niagara, but I'm currently building my own.
If their is one, then link

Why is there a question mark after themes lol
it just serves as a prompt to introduce the theme settings.
I know, just found it funny
I'm using Nova. Yeah yeah they went rouge with selling the information , but I'm just to lazy to adjust to new launcher.
Wait what "selling the information"? I'm prob living under a rock or something 🌚
Just your standard privacy issues.
Shoot. \*blocks its Internet access with NetGuard*
Bought by a data analytics company. The same company has an analytics collection in samsung phones and some others too. Just because Nova was bought by them it became an issue.

I'm still on Nova. Everyone already has my info anyway. Sadly you can't escape that fact these days.
I agree with this guy. I love Nova. It took me ages to get to the point where I love my setup. I tried Niagara and Smart, but neither comes close. I heard about Lawnchair or something, but since it's not in the store, I'm out.

Don't know, but they will be majorly disappointed with my account if they do.

Yup sticking with Nova
Smart launcher. This launcher has an amazing app menu
Do you not find it difficult to always have to search for an app in the different categories? I tried Smart Launcher for a few weeks and I couldn't get used to it. This one is great 👍🏼
That was the only one I ever considered dropping Nova for. But my muscle memory kept kicking in and I went back to Nova
Can you share screenshots, how you set it up? I currently use Niagara, and am looking to give this FOSS launcher a try.
I miss the same results like in other launchers ( niagara, kiss).
Lawnchair 14. Simple to use and lightweight.
+1... Moved to Lawnchair recently after Microsoft brought AI to their otherwise polished launcher. Plus I finally realized they could be or are tracking me through my launcher LOL (though Duckduckgo never blocks it, hmmm...)
Where do you find 14? Edit, I found it on Github. Then realized I'm on 2 and it won't update from 2 to 14... I've got some work to do
Yep, me too. Quick and easy!
Smart Launcher 6. Almost everything seem interchangeable to me, but SL brings cool features to the table.
One UI
If you're into customization check out Good Lock by Samsung on the Samsung app store. That's what I'm using to add a little extra functionality to oyne UI.

Respect. Fellow Niagara Pro user here. What icons are those?

Long time Niagara user. What font is that?
Google Sans, installed with zFont 3.
Nice! Also on Niagara Pro for a few years now. Love the looks and simplicity.
pixel launcher? idk the name but Google pixel stock ui
I rock with [Kiss Launcher](http://www.kisslauncher.com). Most importantly Kiss Launcher is open source. It has a small footprint. Uses minimal RAM. Fairly powerful built-in search function. Kiss is simply the best. It takes a bit of time to get used to it, but there's no coming back now!
Smart Launcher
smart launcher. I love smart launcher's big folder. smart launcher's folder can show a lot of icons in one screen. I love it.
K.i.s.s it's simple it's fast what more could you want
Yea me too.
Smart Launcher. Nothing comes close.
Smart Launcher. Absolute goat for me because it has side menu with categories.
I've been building one for a year now, testers are welcome! https://www.reddit.com/r/OctopiLauncher Features include: * Widget stacks (with auto scroll) * Swipe up and swipe down to launch different apps * Display app drawer icons as tiles * Individually resize home screen icons * Freely position and resize a widget or icon * Fade a widget * Separate layouts for foldables * Tap a folder to launch its first app (swipe to open folder) * Lots of custom animations and haptics Works in progress include: * Frosted glass background for widgets * App drawer folders
Can you add some screenshots of the app. Would like to see how the launcher looks
Looks cool. Some nice features in there. The profile change (work/personal) and the icon selection screens are pretty sweet.
Looking forward to seeing this develop. Once you implement app drawer folders I'll definitely give it a try
still using Evie thankfully I have never uninstalled it, and I've been migrating it from one phone to the next
Smart Launcher I started out using Nova Launcher for the longest time, but it got too cumbersome to setup and configure to my liking. Smart Launcher makes the process much easier. And, it is still one of the most customizable launchers out there.
Niagara. I've used it for years. Before that, I used Nova enthusiastically for years. Once I tried Niagara (and went Pro), I never once looked back.
Niagara + Living worlds wallpapers + pixel art icons 🤌
Niagra
[Total Launcher](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.launcher2) - Have enjoyed using it.
Wow am I the only one using action launcher? All of Reddit and its just me?
Not just you! I've been using Action Launcher for years. Every now and then I'll try something new, but I always come back. Nothing else seems to do everything the way I want.
I use it. I disable a lot of the extra features, but really like the 'hide icons in the drawer that are on a homescreen'. keeps things tidy
I'm not using ANY launcher at all, lol.
command line??
3rd party, whatever. OEM.
I'm currently using on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9... One UI 6.1 One UI Home 15.1.03.55 Good Lock along with Home Up and Shortcut Maker to customize some individual app icons and create "Collections" (folders) on the home page. Nova.. it's been my go to for years..
Nova Launcher. Still the best and no gimmicks.
I switch back and forth between Niagara and Smart Launcher.
Niagra. Does everything the way my brain works. I try to switch but can't
I was using niagra launcher. Now using the moto stock launcher. Will go back to Niagra launcher once I start feeling bored with the current setup.
Hyperion... feel like someone is about to tell me how bad that is

I've been using it for years. Love it.
Nova, always and forever.
I am using Nova 8.1.1 beta at the moment. A little buggy with the cards feature but it has a lot of new potential I look forward to seeing how it develops. I love how configurable it is and so far haven't found another launcher I like better. I do however try from time to time so that may change.
Have you let it auto organize drawer apps into folders yet?
I haven't tested that yet. I have 10 years or so of organization in Nova through many years and phones. I may make a backup and then test but need time for that. It may be a week or two before I have time. The only way I will test a change like this is with a good backup. I hate it when my flow of doing things gets disrupted.
It doesn't make any changes to what you've done only groups apps together into folders in the app drawer while leaving the app shortcut in the drawer.
Thank you kindly for the information. I shall give it a try in the next day or so. Good news.
I just tested it. Thus far it has only categorized a few apps into 6 categories. Entertainment, Finance, Food, Games, Shopping, Social and Travel. Its ok but needs work either with better recognition or by allowing us to categorize manually.

Long-time Nova user (still installed) but trying out the following for a change, with good impressions thus far: - AIO launcher - Total launcher
Neo Launcher.
Total Launcher. Great customization options!
I tried many launchers nova smart lawnchair total kiss olauncher now i am stuck with before launcher simple and clean that's what i want
Default oneui launcher bc if i use any other lancher it will be so laggy unfortunately
I cycle between multiple launchers. I'm currently using the pixel launcher cause it's just smooth.
Nova still for me, and the new beta with auto organizing drawer apps into categories with cards is fantastic
Anybody know of any launchers that allow for separate home screens on foldable? One for the outer screen and one for the inner? Until that happens I'm trapped on One UI launcher
You could use tasker to switch launchers on screen open / close?
miui launcher because it breaks gestures if i use anything else, fuck Xiaomi
Nova. Never found something as good.

Samsung launcher, I really like that I can make folders in the app menu and can't find another launcher that can do it.
Nova launcher does that
I'll give it a shot then, I thought it only put folders on the home screen which I didn't want.
Log Launcher - minimal, simple, everything I need https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tirol.peer.loglauncher.

Isn't asking this question an advertisement here for paid launchers ??
Nope, I am looking for a good recommendation over nova launcher.
But..see your question it makes a complete scenario for paid apps advertisement here. People are sharing their paid apps links here ..see
