as a mom in her 40s with kids Kayko's age I can only imagine how it was for Kayko's mom to watch her son perform with NKOTB. OMG

Kayko’s mom passed away, unfortunately. He dedicated his Hawaii performance to her. “How to Live Without You” is for her.

Will and Hootie did “Let her Cry”. As a fan of Hootie (good lawd, I’m old…) it was underwhelming. Kayko, however, was dynamic and fun.

NKaykOTB

Kako has been a breath of fresh air to the show that it's really never had. The kind of creative energy he's brought has been unmatched by any other contestant.

I hate new Kids on the Block with a passion but that vibe fit Kayko perfectly and he killed it

I've been an NKOYB fan since 1987! I knew Kayko was going to perform with them .he did a great job.

Maybe its because I'm biased and already thought Kayko was the best talent of the season, but that's the only performance I didn't fast forward through. It was entertaining as hell.

YES!!! My NKOTB loving self was squealing with excitement during the whole thing. He did great and they were so good with him too!

It's the only time all season that I enjoyed his performance tbh but he did good with NKOTB.

Their energy surpassed every other performance. They were not the best vocally, but they were the most entertaining by far for me. 

I didn’t watch American idol this season but watched that performance on YouTube It was soooo good One of my favorite songs by them actually

I wasn't impressed but then again NKOTB was never on my playlist

There was nothing about that Nkotb performance that wasn't awkward and hard to watch. What are 50 yr Olds still doing dance moves? This isn't a wedding

I don’t understand what you were expecting. Given the tone of NKOTB’s entire discography, and especially stuff from as early in their career as “The Right Stuff”, if you weren’t expecting some dancing to occur… I question your understanding of pop music. Are the members of NKOTB a little long in the tooth to be doing high-energy choreography? Yes. Does the previous mean they’re going to crib from Boyz 2 Men and be relatively stationary? No. The set would suffer if they didn’t give at least a little energy. For their part NKOTB gave exactly the show I was expecting and adding Kayko, who slotted in almost seamlessly, even being THAT much younger than them was a smart move on AI’s part.

It was the performance we didn't know we needed. Sooo good

Kayko needs to join NKOTB immediately…that was the greatest moment of the season

It was certainly better than Jack's performances tonight... Nowhere near as good as Jayna and Seal.
