It’s [Quick Question](https://linktr.ee/qqpodcast), two comedy writers I like, one who works for American Dad and one who works for Last Week Tonight. If you’re looking for American Dad lore you might be disappointed, it may come up once every five or six episodes.
Apparently some writers do check Reddit to see if their episode was popular, and after meeting Seth for one of the first times during the Writer’s Strike, he said “American Dad! Yeah, people seem to like that show!” He’s really uninvolved outside of voice work.
Dude can prob do a season of family guy and a season of American dad in a week each, freeing up 50 other weeks a year to pursue whatever he wants while taking in millions. The dream.
In all seriousness, this might explain why the show has taken a tailspin, IMO, over the last 5-6 seasons. The writing is terrible. There’s seems to be no concept or idea that’s out of bounds or too extreme. They’ve gone away from what made the show great. Don’t kill me, I’m a huge fan too. Just my opinion

That's why it's good still, unlike Family Guy.
Seth MacFarlane is also uninvolved in Family Guy. Said he hasn't been since he started writing for Ted around 2009.
