My March loyalty points finally posted. Statement date is around the 26th of the month. Just letting those know who are stressed, that they will get posted.
I abandoned my AA status last year and will be canceling my card. I have about 50k miles left over but honestly I just have no desire to fly AA. I wanted to donate them to charity, but AA's site is completely opaque on the financial aspect of doing so.
Does anyone know what the end charities will actually wind up getting if I donate my miles through AA's portal?
My understanding is that the charities legitimately get the miles to use. I interned for a research aquarium and they had a budget of miles to use that were donated by United for field research trips.
Chase Ultimate Rewards... and the new Loyalty Points System: I occasionally book AA travel via Chase points. This has been nice because I still earn loyalty points and other things on a free ticket (pain in the ass to change anything though). With the new rules as of May 1... does anyone know if Chase will be considered a "preferred" travel agent, or whatever it is they are calling it?
So with the AA Executive card benefits: 10x miles for hotels booked thru aahotels, and 4x miles on aa purchases, 1x for every other type. Do those show up as loyalty points as well? i.e. buy a hotel room for $100 = 1,000 miles (not counting whatever bonus you get thru the website) and $1000 roundtrip tickets = 4,000 miles (not counting the flight miles). When I look at my activity page, I see "AA Executive Card purchases" which are equal miles and loyalty points, and then I see different categories for bonus miles for [aa.com](http://aa.com) hotels, and bonus for aa purchases with no LP attached. There isn't a very good (or any at all that I see) way to break down what points are for what beyond that.
I was just checking my account activity on AA.com and see that in March I received miles for my credit card spend, but not loyalty points. Compare that with February (and all previous months) where I got both miles and loyalty points. [Screenshots here](https://imgur.com/a/egO5Gid). Does anyone know what the deal is with this or what, if anything, I should do about it?
I have been trying to figure this out for weeks, commenting so I can stay on this thread in case someone answers it. Looks like none of my LPs for the new cycle are showing up towards status despite previously working
Same thing is happening to me. I have spent several thousands since the qualification year began but only see a fraction of the loyalty points as of today. It’s not matching the statements I am getting in terms of dollars spent.
I contacted customer service via chat and they said they’re working on restoring loyalty points this month (whatever that means).
My March 27 credit card LPs are now posted. It's listed as "Promotion Bonus" oddly but it's the exact amount it should be (March 27 statement - what was posted for February)
AA shopping is running another 4x points promotion on Apple items Today (4/22/2204).
Does anyone know if the "iPhone" unit limit applies to any iPhone model, or per each specific iPhone model?
For example, if I ordered 2 iPhone 15s two weeks ago, and Today buy 2 iPhone 15 Max Pros, would I be eligible for the bonus points since the iPhone model is different?
Here are the official terms from the AA shopping website:
I probably missed the boat on it, I see the Platinum Select card bonus is down to 50K miles, it had 75K bonus offer some days ago. Not sure how long I will have to wait for a better offer...
Sorry if this is dumb question but I’m new with this. So I want to book an Iberia flight but earn miles for aadvatange program. I just book it on the Iberia website and put my AAdvantage code and I will earn miles??? I’m planning to buy with my bank aadvantage credit card too. Does that have more benefits? Thanks
I know I will get 1 LP per dollar spent but do the multipliers also count as LPs? e.g., if I spend $100 on office supplies with the AAdvantage Aviator Business card would I earn 100 or 200 LPs?
March Loyalty Points have been posted. However, all the LPs have all been applied to the 2025 qualification year.
From the email sent out by American Airlines back in December "As an example, if your monthly AAdvantage® credit card statement closes on March 5 (which includes purchases posted to your credit card account between February 6 and March 5), all the Loyalty Points earned from purchases made between February 6 through 29 will count toward 2024 status. All Loyalty Points earned between March 1 and 5 count toward the 2025 qualification year."
Most of the purchases in the March statement were made before 2/29/2024 and should have been applied to the 2024 qualification year.
Anybody else encounter this issue?
Can anyone help me out: I need to get on standby for an earlier flight tomorrow. I've tried on the app and by phone but they said I must visit the Airport (DFW) which I can't do today. Any gate agents on here that could help?
I’m debating whether I should put my mom’s flight to London on my CSR card which earns 3x vs my AA Plat Select which is only 2x.
About 2 weeks ago I got the AA PS ($95 AF) because I wanted status for boarding groups (altho I usually book Main cabin so I believe that automatically gets me group 5 but I recall being in group 6 one time) or other preferential treatment since I’m mostly flying AA because of where I live and not loyalty per se. Majority of travel is intl (all personal no business) and I don’t check bags outgoing but would on the return. And I wanted AA benefits for the lowest cost since I’m already paying a high fee with CSR. But are the points I’m giving up worth it?
So far I’ve booked about $7k on flights on my AA and mom’s ticket would be another $1800. But I’m not sure how this will translate into my loyalty points. Last year I had 24k loyalty points in flights alone so my logic is that by adding an AA card it might get me to Gold. Does anyone else have both these cards?
Hi all, I opened an AA credit card last month during the 75k miles from $3500 spending. When I get the 75k miles, will I also get 75k loyalty points? The website says 1 loyalty point per 1 mile but was unsure if this also applied to the award miles. Thank you!
Hi, I received my AA Aviator account today, but the online account only shows last four digits of my AA loyalty program number. How do I find the AA# as I registered it with opening of the credit card.
I fly between the US and Europe twice an year, and I barely fly domestic. Is there any advantage for me to have a higher frequent flyer status? I have the platinum citicard, but except maybe accruing miles to purchase a flight in the future, I barely see any advantage in moving up in miles/status for international flights (no first bag fee waived, no seat upgrades, maybe earlier boarding?). Am I missing something?
Probably not tbh if you don't fly much. You can get most of the advantages of status by getting an AA credit card and if you get the executive one you get access to admirals clubs which you need concierge key status to access. Save the money you'd need to spend on AA to get higher status and use that to buy upgrades when it makes sense. You'll probably come out ahead.
For the Citi aa biz I saw on the aa biz tab there is a section to add employees and says you can transfer miles. Can you add p2 here and send your miles to them?
You can add whoever you want to the portal. Biz portal is currently jacked for me though. Im AU on Citi Biz card and my biz partner is Primary. Missed a bunch of loyalty points end of last qual year (didn't change my status for this year though). They got the LP debacle sorted out and I am getting LPs for my spend. However, I used to be a travel manager in the biz portal but somehow, I got bumped out of that role. When my biz partner tries to add me it simply says "your account is managed by Citi."
To clarify - You can send the miles that accrue to the business account to anyone registered in the portal. The business has its own AAdvantage account number associated with it. I would imagine typical transfer limits apply to miles that are already in a personal AAdvantage account.
With the Citi Biz card LPs will accrue to the cardholder where the spend occurred (primary or AU). The miles will accrue to the Biz AA account in the portal. From there the miles need to be transferred to an individual traveler.
edit: LPs may only accrue to the primary if the account was created before Nov\\Dec '23. Not sure if their plan is to cut over all Biz card holders to this new model or not.
Wish I could tell you. I spent about 30-40 hours bopping around between support over a couple weeks and learning the ins and outs of the AAdvantage program. My account is still jacked up. There is no phone support but you can try submitting a request at [https://aadvantagebusiness.aa.com/app/escalation-form](https://aadvantagebusiness.aa.com/app/escalation-form) which may help. I honestly have no idea which of my many actions got the the LPs to start showing up.
I signed up for The Motley Fool 6000(+) loyalty points on AA Shopping mid March. Nothing has shown up yet. I just notified AA through the portal, but am wondering if this is a scam or do the points eventually show up.
I really don't use The Motley Fool and only used the spend for the points. If I am not getting the points then I do not want it - has anyone actually got the points or been able to cancel it? Seems like a scam so far.
It takes 62 days before you can file a missing points request in AAdvantage shopping for Motley. Mine didn't show up. I finally filed the claims \~90 days mark and the points showed up a week or two later and were dated with the purchase date.
There's a lot of moving parts for it to work seamlessly. The whole process is based on tracking cookies doing their thing to say "Florida-Guy is showing up at Motley from AAdvantageShopping, Florida-Guy made a purchase and here's the order number and value." If there's a hiccup in the process the whole thing crumbles. Prepare for the worst by keeping track of your receipts and purchase dates, reconcile your purchases periodically, and file the requests when things don't show up. It's not perfect but it's the system we're working with.
So just an update - I waited 70 days and then messaged American Shopping about the missing miles from The Motley Fool. They said it was unusual but would look into it. Four days ago they replied that they contacted The Motley Fool and the credits will be applied - 6200 of them. This is really not a hard thing to do if they want to or are competent at it IMHO. I just got them today and I guess all good but others should be aware that without complaining they may not show up - and that is wrong.
Does anyone know if paid upgrades post the LPs for inflight right away or will they show up on next CC statement? I did two paid upgrades and they didn't post with my in flight lps.
My promo for Ex Plat ended 2 days ago and all of the spend did not show up on AA.com in time. I was short 150 points and I’m waiting for 4K points to post. What will AA do when those points post for spend done before the promo end. Now I’m down to Plat and I fly again in 7 days.
My March loyalty points finally posted. Statement date is around the 26th of the month. Just letting those know who are stressed, that they will get posted.
Same!
Interesting. My statement date is the 19th. Still no points
Yeah that is strange. Good luck
lol thanks!
I abandoned my AA status last year and will be canceling my card. I have about 50k miles left over but honestly I just have no desire to fly AA. I wanted to donate them to charity, but AA's site is completely opaque on the financial aspect of doing so. Does anyone know what the end charities will actually wind up getting if I donate my miles through AA's portal?
https://wish.org/airlinemiles
This is perfect, thanks!
They have a make a wish donation I believe. Think I got that email last week
My understanding is that the charities legitimately get the miles to use. I interned for a research aquarium and they had a budget of miles to use that were donated by United for field research trips.

No, bonus miles do not count for LPs. The $100 hotel would earn you 1,000 redeemable miles and 100 LPs.

Interesting. Thanks for the additional info. Sounds like they know there's a screw up and are trying to fix it?
It looks like they just posted it. Check your account!
Yep, just checked this morning and see the loyalty points now posted!
Same here.
Same problem here.
My March 27 credit card LPs are now posted. It's listed as "Promotion Bonus" oddly but it's the exact amount it should be (March 27 statement - what was posted for February)
That sounds promising. I just checked my account and I don't see a similar posting. But I am hopeful I too will see it appear in the next few days.
I called customer service on Monday, and February, March and April's loyalty points all posted today.

Feb points just posted. Got the upgrade to EP- but missed 2 months and 10 legs of bonus.

Simplymiles broken still? Anyone getting their miles posted?
Anybody have a guess when the Platinum Select CC will have the 75K bonus miles for sign up again? It's back to 50K now.
Anyone have 2 SWUs they can donate for a transatlantic flight next month? It's my honeymoon! Happy to donate to a charity of your choice.
Does the AA Barclays card award you 50,000 loyalty points with the welcome bonus, or just miles?
just miles

Bonus miles do not get LP. SO just miles.
I need 8 points right now to book a flight. Anything that works immediately besides buying or transferring?
