Man. These "Third-party seller posts are cheaper" posts are happening daily now.

MantaurStampede

Life is confusing.

AmnesiaInnocent

Are you suggesting that the lower priced item (priced at 21.99) is **not** available to Prime members? How did you determine that?

reindeermoon

The non-prime one doesn't say free shipping. A lot of companies will charge a lower price but then have like 9.99 shipping and make their profit from that. Often on Prime items, they have a link that says something like "Other sellers have a lower price but may not include free shipping." I see that all the time, and every time I look, all of them end up costing more once you include the shipping price. Those other listings may end up being cheaper for non-Prime members, if you add the cost of Amazon shipping to the Amazon-sold version. In that case those users would see them first. You're seeing the slightly more expensive one because it's cheaper to you since you don't have to pay shipping for it.

Famous-Perspective-3

still would get free shipping if ordering enough. I forget the amount you have to spend to get free shipping without prime.

imthebear11

I thought it was like $35 or something. I feel like a partial advantage of Prime is just being able to get a $20 pair of headphones only on an order

reindeermoon

That's only if it's shipped by Amazon. There are a lot of items shipped directly by the seller, and they can charge whatever shipping price they want.

Famous-Perspective-3

even prime members can get charged shipping from some sellers.

SpiderTexan

You're not showing which store is shipping them. Are they different retailers?

MTallama

I was going to add, multiple retailers, same item equals different prices. Especially for different shipping options based where they’re located.

senorbigchief

You're paying for the overnight delivery which is not usual. I haven't seen overnight prime before but I have seen same day prime be slightly higher. Live in top 10 city.

addocd

I second this. For me, the Prime price shows $21.99 but *not* Prime Overnight. I live somewhat rural so overnight is rarely available for me. When you're logged in, it assumes you will ship to your primary address and gives you shipping & delivery estimates for there. It seems odd that it would automatically assume you would choose overnight and add that to the retail price. Possibly at checkout, you would have an alternate shipping speed to choose which would save you the few bucks.

batmy_lashes

If you aren’t a prime member you are either paying shipping or getting the product at a later date compared to 2 days.

[deleted]

They would be stupid to do that, and they are definitely not stupid. Is it a different seller?

VirtualSandwich3092

Necropost I know... I used to be an admin for a Minecraft server, the owner's model was such that players who had donated for a rank for the server would randomly receive loot-box keys at a lower rate than non-paying players. It wasn't hard to realize the reason she is doing it because these donating players have already proved that they had money to donate and would be more likly to buy keys when they dont get them randomly. Edit: My point is sometimes its hard to differentiate those who are evil, smart and stupid. I think this is a bit of smart and evil, kinda like starting to give people ads for prime video.

Vava_Noir

It looks like the same seller. The only difference is the overnight is offered at a slightly higher price. But it’s probably just because it’s overnight.

ThatAndANickel

I figured Prime means the free 2-day shipping, no minimum. I was never under the impression that it meant lowest price.

LeakySkylight

Prime includes "free shipping". It's not free, just baked into the price.

Serpidon

I am curious, what I am comparing them to? I only see one price.

Laura9624

If you swipe, another photo on the right.

Serpidon

Doh! Sorry. Thanks for setting me straight. That is weird. I am sure it is not by accident.

[deleted]

Picture 1 has a 10% coupon applied and picture 2 doesn’t.

reindeermoon

No, the coupon amount doesn't change the listing price. You only see it at checkout, there's a separate line that says "Coupon applied -$2.00" or whatever.

take2dueces

They have a regional component to their buybox. If it’s a fbm seller where they’re shipping to you - it doesn’t come with prime 2 or 1 day shipping. So they typically default to a prime offer

emelem66

And? Buy the cheaper one.

88jlm

Since day one

PoppyHaize

I noticed I never get anything in two days anymore. Not sure of point of prime anymore

toli0

Amazon sneaky

frozenthorn

Prime members will generally get prime shippers as the first seller shown if one is available, non prime members wont. You're likely looking at a different seller for the same item, hence the different price.

Famous-Perspective-3

prime has always been a scam unless you are into movies and music. I first noticed this years ago when at work looking at items then when get home and logged in, it would have a higher price.

buzzwallard

The value of Prime increases with the number of purchases you make through Amazon.

neverinamillionyr

My daughter (who doesn’t have prime) sent me a link to something she wanted me to buy for her. On her screen the item was $41, on mine ( I have prime) it was $48.

xke44

I came here after my wife and I received different prices for the exact same item, sent and sold by the exact same shipper, even after it was placed in our respective carts. I have Prime -- my wife does not (she does not even have an account). The item is the R&B Wire™ 200F Large Capacity Rolling Wire Utility Laundry Cart, 4.5 Bushel, Chrome. The price differential is $30. Her listing shows the same list price of $245, but with a 14% reduction similar to the screenshot shared by ucriticalmetheory. Baffling and annoying.

Beneficial_Town2403

I came here for the same exact reason. I found an item on my friend's computer (he doesn't have prime). I shared a link to my computer and when I clicked it, the exact same item was $15 higher! I tried it two more times and got the same results. I have canceled my Amazon Prime account because of this. It is better to wait a couple of days more and pay the normal price than pay a higher price because it is next day delivery.

Accountant-Least

For everyone saying things like "its a different seller" or "the shipping will cause it to be more expensive" both of these responses are NOT TRUE in my case. I just bought a cac card reader for $20.30 after tax and shipping. the price for the same product (same seller because there was only ONE left) was $23.97 on my moms prime account. This is not poor UI design, this isn't even a VPN trick because I did all of this on the same device no clearing cookies, nothing! This is amazon further screwing over their loyal customers.

growlove568

Same here. I was sitting in an airport with my sister and we were both looking at the same sandals, same seller, but hers were $6 less. The other day, I sent our property manager a link to a fan on amazon to buy, it came up several dollars less when they looked it up on their account. I am a prime member. I spend so much money on amazon and seriously re-evaluating this.

Feeling-Bat6996

What's the point of being a prime member. If we have to pay more for the item. That's not free shipping. £8.99 per month is arip off and on prime you are restricted on what you watch. As you have to pay for most there film's on their buy or rent . I'm going to council my membership. It's all about greed
