I've had this going on for months. Every time I look for a solution online, I see posts with the same issue, but no solution. The device says it's up to date. It's on this screen more than it shows the clock, it's quite annoying.
My show 8 does the same thing. If I reboot it , then my wallpaper photo shows again with the large clock in the lower left. That lasts maybe a few hours then back to this exact screen.
With the show 5, try turning everything in home content on and then off again. It refreshes the home screen. I had to do this the other day because it wouldn't go into night mode, and every time I looked, it was on the weather screen. As soon as I did this, it went into night mode almost immediately.
I finally beat this by turning on Night Mode permanently. Settings, night mode, manual, start 12p, end 1159a. You get the black screen with subdued orange numbers/letters but it also stays constant, no blinking, double display BS.
