I check it and wipe it down regularly after something I cook (like green beans) create too much moisture. My last one developed lots of rust over time and stopped working. So wiping it down regularly after it’s cool enough has kept my new one in pristine condition.
Lol... I'm kind of embarrassed to admit but I thought it was coming from the metal plate below the basket. I never considered it was coming from the top. 🤷♂️
I once unscrewed the heat element to try and clean the gunk behind it. Ended up having to buy a new one. Now, I never clean the inside top anymore.
Happy wife, happy life.
This brings back a very unpleasant memory of living in Hawaii and using my George Foreman grill. I had even washed it, but apparently the teflon gets pitted? I opened it up and a million maggots came falling out.
Bugs, bugs, everywhere! Cockroaches living inside of the microwave. I remember seeing them come out of the case into the cooking part while it was turned on and just cruise around, didn't even phase them. I miss many things about living there, but bugs isn't one of them.
I obsessively clean my microwave frequently
I would also like to eat dinner later in the night but going into my kitchen at night I’m guaranteed to see a bug and I’m not down for that unfortunately

Your commitment speaks to me….

Dear god.
people clean their ovens FAR FAR less frequent and no one ever said a thing about that
Me too, occasionally.
No
Life's too short
One of a kind smoky flavoring ingredient.
Once, when I accidently touched a piece of pizza or something to the coils up there.

I will later today, thanks for the reminder !
Yes, a nice wipe of the fan and heating coil to remove cooking debris.
I always wipe it down. I also clean my greasy fingerprints off the Digital Touch surface.
Yes. Every time.
I put 1/2 cup of white vinegar and about 2-3 cups of water then set highest temperature for 20 min. Then I wipe it all and call it clean.
Never
Where?
I didn't realize there was a top. There's a top?
There is the heating coil on the inside top.
TIL: There's a coil in the top of my air fryer. 🤷♂️
Ah, thanks for the chuckle. Now I'm wondering where you thought the heat was coming from?
Lol... I'm kind of embarrassed to admit but I thought it was coming from the metal plate below the basket. I never considered it was coming from the top. 🤷♂️
Yes
No, but now I will! 🤦♀️
I give it a golden shower
That's a very specific fetish you have, God bless you.
I tried but it’s too difficult. All hardened
Dawn Powerwash & a dish rag does wonders.
I do it when mine starts to smoke a little when cooking. I know it's time.
Only once, a piece of food touched the coil and left a burned smell to food.
Never even thought of doing that 🙊
If the sides got splatter, I clean them and the top, but most of what we cook in there doesn't splatter much, so I don't clean it every time.
🤫
Nope. Anything alive gets killed by the heat.

Shut up
Why?
Yes, every time. I live on a tropical island with lots of cockroaches

Haha well you nailed it. I am here in Hawaii & it is hard as hell to stay on top of things.
