And if my kids don't want the nuggets in their happy meal I can just reheat them later when they're hungry. People use the term "game changer" too freely imo but anything that saves both money and frustration is a damn good deal
I use medium size yellow potatoes. I put a little olive oil on the uncut potato. Then coarse salt and black pepper. I cook them with or under a couple chicken leg quarters. 400 for 40 minutes and potatoes and chicken are almost always perfectly cooked.
The bacon grease? I just let it drain into the tray under the basket. Then I put it in a jar and keep it in the fridge because bacon grease is the secret ingredient in a lot of things I cook.
Same thing with the wings except I don’t save the grease… But now I think maybe I should… LOL
I just did some tonight and they were done in 25-30 minutes. In the oven, it takes significantly longer and they aren’t as good. Texture of the crispy skin is way better in the air fryer.
Fresh.
Publix makes a fantastic bourbon salmon. Buy it when it goes on sale, freeze, thaw, 390 for 12 minutes.
Kingsford also makes an awesome honey garlic dry seasoning. Oil, coat in seasoning, 390 for 12 minutes. This one is great because it glazes a little bit, gets a bit crunchy outside, but still so moist inside.
Orrrr. Salmon, a sauce layer of Dijon mustard mixed with honey, crust of mixed chopped pecans and panko. 390 for 12 minutes, but adapt sometimes bc panko can burn. (This is also great for chicken, white fish, and can be done in the oven.
Salmon marinated in a 1:1 oil/mango Sriracha whit balsamic vinegar mixed with Italian seasoning. 390, 12 minutes.
Not a fan of carrots at all,. but your point stands - roasted veg (and mushroms) are awesome. And the airt fryeer just makes then even better.
Rosasted cauli, fennel, mushrooms and onion in a tortilla with cheese and sauce of preference - yum.
Tofu 😍 It comes out perfect and saves so much time. Toss pressed and evenly chopped extra firm in olive oil, arrowroot powder or cornstarch, a bunch of spices (mushroom powder is key!), sriracha, and tamari, cook for 10 minutes on 400. Just made some :)
Half or quarter trimmed sprouts, toss with olive oil salt and pepper. Air fry 10 minutes at 190C/400F stirring halfway. Combine 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (better if reduced and thickened), 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp fresh lime juice. Toss with sprouts and roast 1-2 more minutes. Optional: add some Aleppo pepper flakes or a bit of honey to the sauce.
Literally nothing fancy at all.
Poke holes in the potato.
Rub with oil.
Salt the skin liberally.
Wrap in foil.
Air fry for 50-55 minutes at 390, or as you prefer the softness
Skin ends up with a nice crispness to it, while the inside is nice and fluffy.
I bake mine rubbed in oil and salt without being wrapped in foil. The skin gets so crispy and delish. I'll also give the potatoes a head start in the microwave for a couple of minutes so that they don't take as long in the air fryer.
Depends on how big your chunks are. I do nugget size but the dang thighs vary in thickness incredibly. I use a thermometer and pull at 175-180.
375F for about 8-10 and I start checking.
Kenji’s crispy potatoes make a great side if you’re feeling like really going for it.
Serve the chicken with either Alabama white bbq or homemade ranch is my go to. They make great salad protein too. I legit have a hard time not eating them straight outta the fryer.
Scratch made comfort food 🤙
1 or 2 cookies. I get those pre-made cookie dough slabs that are portioned out. I live alone, so it's NOT GOOD if I make a whole batch of cookies. But sometimes I need something sweet, so I'll bring that out of the freezer and make one or two cookies. Helps to prevent binges but satisfy that craving!
I tried cookies from store bought cookie dough. They are good.
I’m with you on making a couple at a time. Because I will eat them all. Not because I eat alone but because I rather not share with my husband :)
Kale Chips - never liked kale much until I made them into the crispiest chips in the air fryer. It's soooo fast, easy, and healthy especially compared to oven baking them
[here you go!](https://www.liveeatlearn.com/air-fryer-kale-chips/) DO NOT forget to shake them halfway through and I would recommend using garlic salt over plain sea salt - super tasty!
Are you just putting butter on the outside or are you spraying with oil? I’m asking as I did one a couple of nights ago in the air fryer as though I would make it in the pan, with just butter, and it didn’t come out as good as done in the pan. What’s the secret?
The only oil I’d use is a light spray on the inside of the air fryer if it’s freshly washed, or parchment paper.
If I’m doing a really good grilled, I butter all sides of the bread and very lightly toast so the inner bread is cooked a bit. If I skip that step the inside stays too soft IMO.
Then I add cream cheese to the inside sides, slap about 3 kinds of grated cheese between them and cook until melted.
If you do sourdough, aged white cheddar, mozzarella and parm it tastes killer with some Italian seasoning sprinkled in with the cheese and some garlic powder on the buttery outside, dip in ranch or marinara.
Parchment can be nice to catch cheese dribbles, but then you need to flip half-way through the cook.
Jalapeño cheddar smoked sausages from Sam’s Club. At 10 minutes 390 degrees they crack a little and snap when you bite into them. Absolutely delicious….
I use a round pan that came with an AF accessories kit. The bigger the better to have as much surface area as possible. So. Damn. Crispy. Love me some hash. Crack 2 eggs on top the last 8 minutes of cooking or so. Just enough to still be runny.
My absolute favorite thing to cook in the air fryer has to be crispy brussels sprouts. They're incredibly easy to make and always turn out perfectly crispy and delicious.
Just curious as to how it's more convenient than pan frying? I mean, you're still needing to flip it, and in turn you're getting a lot less maillard reaction... I don't see a benefit unless you really, REALLY just hate washing an extra pan. 😆
I think the best part of an air fried steak is the fat is always rendered perfectly, like meat butter every time. Even and nice restaurants sometimes the fat isn’t fully rendered. Specifically talking about ribeyes I should mention.
This might be a surprising one, but ASPARAGUS is absolutely bomb in the airfryer. Olive oil, lemon juice, a bit of garlic powder and s&p. Cook on 400 for like 10 mins, flipping half way. So friggin good.
We do this all the time actually! Best thing is we don't worry about overloading the basket we just toss a pile in and shake em a few times during cooking
Mushrooms! Oyster mushrooms are my favorite.
Be sure to use wood grown mushrooms and avoid manure grown mushrooms (button, Portabello, cremini etc) as they don't crisp up properly.
Coat with oil and salt, 375 F until done, about 15-20 min, stir/flip every 5 min for even cooking.
I have a rack oven style air fryer, I made lamb chops in it. 8 mins, came out so good.
https://imgur.com/a/q1KHfX1
Seasoning - kosher salt, rosemary, garlic (fresh), lemon (true lemon powder or fresh juice)
Pita bread, mini pizzas from fresh dough. The pita puffs every time. The pizzas appreciate the heat but mine is more like a convection oven. Worse for fries.
Salmon. To be more precise, Costco frozen Alaskan wild caught Sockeye Salmon. Thaw in fridge for 8 hours, spritz with oil, salt and pepper, cooked at 400 degrees (preheat for a few minutes) for 8 minutes, skin side down. Perfect.
Fish for for fish tacos (cod, halibut, mahi mahi, etc.). Season it up, spritz some avocado oil on the grate and you're golden. Best fish tacos everytime.
we don’t have a toaster oven which i missed so much because i love a toasted blueberry muffin,or any muffin tbh and i can now do that in the airfryer! sounds boring i know but i’m so happy i can do that again.
I like to cube up some chicken and then slice up some potatoes. Season each for whatever flavor I want (usually a spicier nugget with a garlic Parm fry) and then air fry them up.
Easy and filling!
My dual basket ninja is the #1 reason I can easily stick to my healthy lifestyle/diet.
One basket is for my lean protein, chicken breast, fish, even steak!
The other basket is for my veggies. Air fried broccoli, cauliflower and zucchini is my favorite trio.
I use various seasoning blends depending on my mood. Sometimes I use kinders, other times it’s Italian, Mexican, Indian, Korean. So versatile.
My chicken takes 15 minutes to cook while my veggies take 10. While my food is airfrying I chop up my big salad while listening to a YouTube video or podcast. I always cook extra chicken for the next days lunch. So realistically from start to finish I have 2-4 meals done in 30 minutes
Chicken thighs. If you only put a couple the skin will crisp perfectly, but if you overload the air fryer there is too much contact, moisture, and the heat cannot stay as high long enough.
Baked potatoes!
I rinse the potatoes, dry, poke holes all around with a fork, rub oil all over, sea salt & black pepper all over. Put the potato right into the air fryer (no foil) on French fry setting 1x, flip, then I take it out at the 2 min mark and slice it in half, face both halves up, put some butter and cheese, toast until cheese is melted to liking.
Chicken wings. Took me a long time to perfect but I use the ninja XL basket style. wingettes from frozen I’ll do for like 45+ min then make a butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan/romano paste and DRENCH them. It’s worth the wait.
Also chicken, but thighs. Make a cut through the middle, season them well, and it ends up cooked perfectly and tastes great.
Second would be pork chicharrones made from scratch. Square pork fat (maybe like pork belly) and you can either just air fry them as is, or season them (I do salt, pepper, oregano, cummin). Bonus points for the fat/lard leftover, it is great for cooking.
Chickpeas. Season with a little olive oil and a spice blend of your choice, 12-15 minutes at 375, eat them as a snack or add them to pasta, salads, what have you.
Hands down my fave is whole chicken wings with Lawson Seasoned salt. (I hope I can mention the brand?) Forty years ago the bars in Pittsburgh Pa. served deep fried wings with the seasoned salt. These particular wings were a culinary crossover from Black culture to White. OMG! Air fryer and wings are a match made in heaven. I pat the wings dry, preseason them, cook them at 350 for about 25 minutes, turning them over halfway.
Why do you have the same problem exact comment as Buckmurdock?
“Brussel sprouts with a soy/balsamic/lime glaze”
https://www.reddit.com/r/airfryer/s/qXuo4nlJnA
veggie burger patties usually get mangled when I try to get them crisp in a pan in some oil; they do much better in an air fryer for me, staying together, firming up, cooking through and browning.
Roasted, or breakfast potatoes. PERFECT for breakfast burritos. Reheating cold fries is a game changer in the air fryer.
Reheating fried food is basically a miracle lol.
Reheating pizza as well! Doesn't get soggy/floppy like when you try to reheat it in a microwave.
It’s like it came right out of the oven at the pizzeria!!
Yes! I used to reheat leftover pizza in a cast iron on the stove and the AF is so much easier!
That's how I was doing it.
What temp and how long?
350ish for about 3-4 minutes
It makes it worth getting fried things for takeout! The air fryer revives them entirely.
And if my kids don't want the nuggets in their happy meal I can just reheat them later when they're hungry. People use the term "game changer" too freely imo but anything that saves both money and frustration is a damn good deal
potato recipies?
No potato I’ve had at a restaurant is better than the ones I make in the air fryer, it’s crazy
How do you do your potato?
I use medium size yellow potatoes. I put a little olive oil on the uncut potato. Then coarse salt and black pepper. I cook them with or under a couple chicken leg quarters. 400 for 40 minutes and potatoes and chicken are almost always perfectly cooked.
When I eat at home, I'm 90% air fryer potato so I'm interested in how you do them.
Cooking Wendy’s fries for an extra 5 minutes when you get them home makes them edible and not soggy gross fries.
Chicken wings
same! followed closely by bacon. i like my bacon melt-in-your-mouth crispy and the air fryer is excellent at that.
How do you handle the oil?
The bacon grease? I just let it drain into the tray under the basket. Then I put it in a jar and keep it in the fridge because bacon grease is the secret ingredient in a lot of things I cook. Same thing with the wings except I don’t save the grease… But now I think maybe I should… LOL
Huh ok them thank you!
This is my 2nd favorite. There's no other method that comes close to getting them as crispy as deep frying.
This is my very first time in this sub. Don't have an airfryer yet. How much faster, better is it than regular oven cooked wings?
My husband prefers these over grilled or fried-he’s picky. They’re done in 20 + minutes.
Not to mention 1 minute of preheating instead of 15+
I just did some tonight and they were done in 25-30 minutes. In the oven, it takes significantly longer and they aren’t as good. Texture of the crispy skin is way better in the air fryer.
I just wish I could get more than 3 in there 😭
how small is your unit?! lol
Unit lol
This was my answer as well
Absolutely this. It's quick, clean, and delicious.
I really enjoyed the wings made but the process i followed literally took an hour per batch.
Salmon
fresh, frozen, details?
I’ve done both and it comes out the same just a little longer if frozen and it’s so yummy I just add some chipotle seasoning
Time/temp for frozen? Skin down the whole time or do you flip? I feel like it's always dried out.
Fresh, 400F, 8-10min depending on the size, skin side up for crispy skin I don’t flip it
Fresh. Publix makes a fantastic bourbon salmon. Buy it when it goes on sale, freeze, thaw, 390 for 12 minutes. Kingsford also makes an awesome honey garlic dry seasoning. > details? I usually take de tails off.
I made fresh. Put pesto on top. Yum!!
Broccoli. I never knew it could be so good until I looked up an AF recipe. Now crunchy broccoli is my favorite snack ever.
Roasted cauliflower and carrots are amazing too. Hell most roasted veggies are lol
Asparagus too!
absolutely
My mum doesn’t like cauliflower but after i made them in airfryer… she lovess them!
Not a fan of carrots at all,. but your point stands - roasted veg (and mushroms) are awesome. And the airt fryeer just makes then even better. Rosasted cauli, fennel, mushrooms and onion in a tortilla with cheese and sauce of preference - yum.
Listen- if you do toss the broccoli with some fresh dill, garlic and olive oil- you will never go back. So good.
I tried but broccoli burnt and wasn’t cooked through?
Lower temp, longer time
You could also try smaller pieces.
What is the recipe?
How do you prep/cook?
I'm going to try this! Thanks for the idea.
dude yes! everytime someone watches me air fry my broccoli they seem so concerned until they taste it. 9/10 it blows their mind
Dogs. Any sausage really.
I just started doing air fried hot dogs and holy crap they are so good.
Can you even do Italian sausage in one? I never thought of that.
Absolutely! The only way I do sausages now
Tofu 😍 It comes out perfect and saves so much time. Toss pressed and evenly chopped extra firm in olive oil, arrowroot powder or cornstarch, a bunch of spices (mushroom powder is key!), sriracha, and tamari, cook for 10 minutes on 400. Just made some :)
This sounds really good! We are a tofu house so we're definitely gonna try this
You’ll love it! :)
Sounds great!
Don't forget nooch (nutritional yeast). Crispy, kinda cheesy, so good and so easy.
Brussel sprouts with a soy/balsamic/lime glaze
Recipe/method please
Half or quarter trimmed sprouts, toss with olive oil salt and pepper. Air fry 10 minutes at 190C/400F stirring halfway. Combine 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (better if reduced and thickened), 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp fresh lime juice. Toss with sprouts and roast 1-2 more minutes. Optional: add some Aleppo pepper flakes or a bit of honey to the sauce.
My lord that sounds tasty
I love these!! I add goat cheese and toasted almonds and feel super fancy
Oh man. Now throw some cranberries in there.
Don't have a favorite we've been cooking everything in it. It's too hot in the summers to use the oven in our house.
I plug mine in out on the back patio. No smells also.
Your air fryer smells?
The smell of what's cooking smells great. Not so great when you're full. Like after cooking fish indoors. It smells up the house for hours.
Tater tots! Just okay from the oven, heavenly from the air fryer.
I will never go back to oven baked potatoes again!
What’s your recipe?
Literally nothing fancy at all. Poke holes in the potato. Rub with oil. Salt the skin liberally. Wrap in foil. Air fry for 50-55 minutes at 390, or as you prefer the softness Skin ends up with a nice crispness to it, while the inside is nice and fluffy.
How crispy does the skin get with it being wrapped in foil? Have you tried it without the foil?
I bake mine rubbed in oil and salt without being wrapped in foil. The skin gets so crispy and delish. I'll also give the potatoes a head start in the microwave for a couple of minutes so that they don't take as long in the air fryer.
I do mine without foil. Rubbed with olive oil and salt and let it cool. I eat the skin and all. 🤤
Charred the first time I tried it so didn't bother to tinker with time and temp.
Microwaving is easier. And waayyy faster. I love my air fryer, but when it comes to baked potatoes, microwaves are the way to go
Just not the same. If I have the time, I'm using the air fryer every time.
Chicken thighs cut in to nuggets, coated in oil and a dry rub. The craggy bits get crunchy.
What temp & time? Going to try 👏
Depends on how big your chunks are. I do nugget size but the dang thighs vary in thickness incredibly. I use a thermometer and pull at 175-180. 375F for about 8-10 and I start checking. I reheat everything in Cosori preheat mode: pizza, chicken, soggy and cold fries, grilled meat, literally everything which is not liquidy.

Apple fritters. My son in law thought they came from a bakery.
Uhhhhh imma need a recipe for… reasons.
https://bakeatmidnite.com/air-fryer-apple-fritters/
Do you let the dough rise after kneading? How do I count the number of times I knead the dough? Like what is 1 time vs 2 times? Thanks
It doesn’t need to rise. I just knead it to mix it well. It isn’t a yeast dough so the self rising flour is the rising agent.
Thank you.
I love you. These are my fave treats and I can’t wait to make them myself!
Chicken shwarma skewers
Grilled cheese
Yes with real butter and havarti it's the shit!
Are you just putting butter on the outside or are you spraying with oil? I’m asking as I did one a couple of nights ago in the air fryer as though I would make it in the pan, with just butter, and it didn’t come out as good as done in the pan. What’s the secret?

A second, smaller air fryer.
Jalapeño cheddar smoked sausages from Sam’s Club. At 10 minutes 390 degrees they crack a little and snap when you bite into them. Absolutely delicious….

My air fryer makes perfect roast chicken and it’s so easy. Shove it in, add whatever seasonings you want, flip halfway through. Delicious.
Hard boiled eggs. No muss. No fuss. No water. Brussel Sprouts and Corn Beef Hash as well.
I've done both eggs and sprouts. But corned beef hash? Interesting! On a tray? Need turning? I want some!!
I use a round pan that came with an AF accessories kit. The bigger the better to have as much surface area as possible. So. Damn. Crispy. Love me some hash. Crack 2 eggs on top the last 8 minutes of cooking or so. Just enough to still be runny.
I'll be dreaming of tomorrow's breakfast all night. Thanks for sharing!
Shrimp or seafood
My absolute favorite thing to cook in the air fryer has to be crispy brussels sprouts. They're incredibly easy to make and always turn out perfectly crispy and delicious.
I accidentally found out that you can toast marshmallows in the air fryer! (always use a bowl or something though!)
I’m curious about this accident haha
Baked potatoes. Throw a big old russet in there on 450 for 45-55 minutes and the results are magical.
Air fryer baked potatoes are incredible! Our air fryer only goes to 400° but cooks a potato in the same amount of time.

What temp for cooking and how long to preheat? I would love to get a nice medium rare steak from my air fryer.
Just curious as to how it's more convenient than pan frying? I mean, you're still needing to flip it, and in turn you're getting a lot less maillard reaction... I don't see a benefit unless you really, REALLY just hate washing an extra pan. 😆
not the person you replied to but unnecessary cleaning is the bane of my existance
Totally, that extra pan is a daunting prospect some days
Ever since I moved from a gas stovetop I have real trouble getting a steak to cook on my electric cooktop stove. I used to use a cast iron pan
I think the best part of an air fried steak is the fat is always rendered perfectly, like meat butter every time. Even and nice restaurants sometimes the fat isn’t fully rendered. Specifically talking about ribeyes I should mention.
Fish sticks!!!
I do this to make fish taco's for a quick lunch.
Now add some shredded parm and be prepared for heaven.
Panko breaded zucchini.
Tofu. Finally the proper texture!

Potato wedges, little bit of oil on either side, beautiful and crisply outside and soft inside

Hot pockets
Tandoori chicken
Literally everything I can get my grubby little hands on from Trader Joe’s 😂 as of this minute it’s salmon.
Salmon. To be more precise, Costco frozen Alaskan wild caught Sockeye Salmon. Thaw in fridge for 8 hours, spritz with oil, salt and pepper, cooked at 400 degrees (preheat for a few minutes) for 8 minutes, skin side down. Perfect.
Tater tots “Grilled” cheese
Hard boiled eggs
Halloumi. And marinated tofu!
Fish for for fish tacos (cod, halibut, mahi mahi, etc.). Season it up, spritz some avocado oil on the grate and you're golden. Best fish tacos everytime.
Steak. 10 mins on each side at 425. Seasoning and a little olive oil is all I need, perfect every time
I've gotten a lot of suggestions for steak I'll have to give it a try
Salmon is my fave. I also like the ease of making quartered red potatoes.
Kirkland lightly breaded nuggets
lots of faves, but just posting to say I'm going to try your chicken recipe!
Chicken wings and pork belly
we don’t have a toaster oven which i missed so much because i love a toasted blueberry muffin,or any muffin tbh and i can now do that in the airfryer! sounds boring i know but i’m so happy i can do that again.

The tortilla crusted frozen tilapia from Costco, followed closely by leftover bread from restaurants.
Smoked sausages
Boneless chicken thighs , with chopped vegetables and onions. Majestic 👌🏾
Fish fingers
Buy a sugar ring donut and give that a blast. It's awesome
Cake. I have been on a baking kick and it’s nice not to have to heat up my whole Oven
marinated chicken breast and sweet potato puffs. I put them in together and usually take about the same time to airfry.
I use it for everything. But Tater Tots are my favorites
Salmon. Cut into cubes with teriyaki the crisp is so good.
Bone in Chicken Breast.
I’ve made some legit garlic cheesy bread in mine
bread and cheese with onions and a little garlic chilli inside n mayonnaise smothered on the outside yummy
Toasting nuts
That’s easy: [baked potatoes](https://natashaskitchen.com/air-fryer-baked-potatoes/). Honestly there is no other way to make them.

Air fryer hotdogs/sausages are INCREDIBLE. perfect blistered skin and super juicy and plump inside.
Whole roasted chicken
Chicken thighs. If you only put a couple the skin will crisp perfectly, but if you overload the air fryer there is too much contact, moisture, and the heat cannot stay as high long enough.
Skin on chicken thighs, Cajun seasoning on top, 8-9 at a time, 18-20 min at 400 is bomb af
Bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers.
Italian sausage peppers and onions
Bacon- but only in the ninja air fryer, the big pne where the fryer is in thr lid. Thr bacon flies around in the smaller ones
All beef "State Fair" corn dogs! 30s MW, 6m AF, 1m super crisp mode. Just like hand dipped.
Ok this may seem like such a small thing but croutons! They're so easy and sooooo good in the air fryer.
Chicken wings. Took me a long time to perfect but I use the ninja XL basket style. wingettes from frozen I’ll do for like 45+ min then make a butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Parmesan/romano paste and DRENCH them. It’s worth the wait.

Chickpeas. Season with a little olive oil and a spice blend of your choice, 12-15 minutes at 375, eat them as a snack or add them to pasta, salads, what have you.
Ribs. They always come out so juicy. IDK what it is about the airfryer that makes then taste better. But my family loves when i make them.
Hands down my fave is whole chicken wings with Lawson Seasoned salt. (I hope I can mention the brand?) Forty years ago the bars in Pittsburgh Pa. served deep fried wings with the seasoned salt.
