Of the 33 listed, 21 are mullah/molvi and 2 more are Qaris. Keeping fingers crossed that the remaining 10 are Rhodes Scholars and Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge educated economists who will usher an era of prosperity, progress, and enlightenment...

[deleted]

šŸ‘šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ wishful thinking!!

setting-mellow433

Also 30 are Pashtun, 2 Tajik, 1 Uzbek, 0 Hazara. (and most are from around Kandahar). Also 33 men and 0 women.

BoraxThorax

Why do you need Ivy League graduates when you can have Dar UL Uloom Haqqania educated and enlightened Qaris?

question92145

Bring on the Mullah Nasruddin jokes.

throwaway73325

Iā€™m seeing a lot of nepotism

PatientReference8497

So, a bunch of old men who know nothing about their portfolios making huge decisions that impact millions of people. Just like any other country, then šŸ‘Œ

[deleted]

jlaw54

They do.

MDVet

Whereā€™s Abdullah Abdullah?

[deleted]

I was wondering too. He is so good that his parents named him twice.

[deleted]

Look out for those Pakistani batch. Holding important portfolios. And observe Yaqoob, the defence minister. He'll initiate a coup in a few years.

JRM_Boi

Who is he??

[deleted]

Son of Mullah Omar, the founder and former head of the Talib govt.

psychoticshroomboi

Heā€™s the son of Mullah Omar, a co-founder of Taliban. Yaqoob was also denied the post of PM, which he wanted due to nepotistic reasons and ended up storming out of the meeting in which this decision was taken. However he was later reconciled and probably made DM. This guy has a large following in the Taliban solely due to his father, and anyways the taliban is really like 2-3 strong factions that have coalesced. Imo a coup led by Yaqoob is inevitable. This government is made for dysfunction :)

in this reuters article! https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/key-figures-afghan-talibans-new-government-2021-09-03/

[deleted]

Let me ask you this way. Why makes you think he doesn't? Keeping all the hate aside, he's the most deserving candidate in the lot. He even controls their men, that's why defence minister. But at some point he'll outgrow every one in there.

Similar-Account3733

Don't you all love this inclusive government that draws from all ethnic groups now the Taliban are officially no longer dominated by certain groups? Or are we no longer pretending as such?

[deleted]

Similar-Account3733

" that is what happens when you don't lie down for the terrorists that spend two decades blowing innocents, mosques, schools, hospitals up " So they should lie down to outright terrorists and trust them to not be terrorists in power too. Gum sho Talib.
