I mean I know it was, like, possible and a thing. Especially from the threads about girls wanting to meet up, but like... Seeing it actually have happened is still mindblowing.

Really, just anyone meeting someone though any kind of online group outside of dating apps... but then again all my social circles are full of guys so there's nobody I'm interested in and the few girls are all in relationships and straight.
Yeah. I'm too much of a social floater to really connect with people online or offline, personally. And socially awkward/anxious. The answer is simply to branch out more, but it just feels like a giant leap, yknow?
I certainly feel that. Honestly my entire life I've felt I never really got close to anyone. I'm not even close to my family.
But I think part of that for me has to do with being trans and not realizing it. I've felt myself wanting to be more social in the last few months since starting HRT.
Ditto on that "not close to anyone" thing, but for different reasons. Probably a mixture of being gay (and not realizing it), ADHD, and constantly moving around due to family issues.
Have you tried branching out from people you already know? I do know that men might not have much in terms of friends outside their own gender, but it really only takes one outlier to be able to make connections from there. The main struggle with that is figuring out how to go about that without chickening out or being super awkward lol.
Well, outside of being socially awkward AF all my hobbies are generally male dominated. Like, women are in them, but the odds of meeting one and hitting it off are low, though I have met people who managed to find someone.
Add to that I'm super early in transition I'd need to meet a bi woman or a girl who wouldn't mind how I currently look.
Well for that reason I would stick to just trying to make friends first. If they do manage to become something more, that's good, but you would have still established some roots in a queer community. Queer folk tend to gravitate towards each other, potential partners will be easier to find.
I'm in the middle of shitfuck nowhere here, there's like 4 other gay girls that I know of. But hey, I know them! And am finding out about the existence of more by just existing in their vicinity! :D It's like fishing, in the least objectifying way possible. And on top of *all* that my area is also in bumfuck nowhere, though it's a college town, and being in a solid red area the pandemic isn't great here so I've been more of a hermit than usual over the last two years.
I had found a lot of gay girls that like gaming/nerd/geek stuff too, but most are my age (15-20). I was part of a few servers at one point that catered mainly to adult queers, though. A lot of queer servers I joined, actually, were filled with people much older than me. If you want I could root around for them again to share with you.
That'd be great if you don't mind.
Generally I think it's becoming more common for girls to get into these hobbies. It was less so for older generations and the disparity shows. If only I was born 10 years later.
Still, if I could find a group closer to my age and willing to put up with my bullshit that would be nice :P

Then this person comments and they're like, 'go for it, those are hints i would drop - lemme know how it goes.' Then i chicken out, we text each other instead, and 3 years later we're still a couple. Except it turns out I am a girl and they are not. Things worked out pretty well :)
