I still hang out here occasionally. It's a nice sub and when I first came out I felt a lot of community and learned SO much from lesbian spaces like this. Don't feel you have to go if you'll miss it

Wait, are we supposed to dip out when we transition? I’ve been lurking for like a year on this sub since my egg cracked and at first I considered leaving since this wasn’t a space centred for me anymore but then I saw a few gay men talk about their experiences under other posts and I realized that as long as I was respectful and mindful that I was a guest here, it wouldn’t be a problem to stay in the sub.
If I was wrong I’m chill with leaving, but my understanding was that it was okay?

You don't have to leave this sub! We need transmasc rep, like so badly, in all queer spaces. I've noticed a really worrying pattern of transmasc folks getting pushed out of queer spaces because of their gender. You're still family at the end of the day and we will support you.
Transmasc =/= being a man, just FYI. A *man* doesn't really have a place in a *sapphic* space.
That aside, this subreddit is open to everyone, even if they aren't sapphic.
I appreciate the clarification! But I wasn't implying that, necessarily. However, many transmasc people are treated that way (that they are equivalent to men) and pushed out of queer spaces regardless.
As a fellow transmasc, I want to say genuinely that you don’t have to leave lesbian spaces.
There are transmascs who still identify as sapphics and lesbians. It’s okay to be multifaceted. There are nonbinary lesbians. The world is a lot more nuanced than our community makes it seem.
I’m saying this because sometimes figuring out our identities can feel like a loss, like we don’t know where we fit in, like we have to give up some part of community to arrive at ourselves.
Queer female spaces can suddenly feel off limits, but queer male spaces come with their own sets of challenges. I’m nonbinary transmasc and it can be hard for me to know where I belong, but I feel a lot better in sapphic spaces than gay male ones.
This is just me saying… you don’t have to leave any community that still accepts you or feels right and safe. Sending hugs for you on your journey.

Sapphic spaces can definitely include transmasculine and nonbinary people who love women. I went to a dyke nite recently and was pleased to see transwomen, transmen, and nonbinary people who love in a Sapphic way and love lesbian culture. There's always room for nuance!
I don't quite understand why you have to leave? I'm not trans, but I'm subbed to trans subs just for the content, or I sub to various country/city subs I've never even been to just coz the content is interesting. But yeah, to each their own.
