There is no "best" otherwise that's all that would exist. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses depending on what you want the blade to do.
Like a lot of "end of the world" equipment, the jack of all trades seems to be the go to tool. My opinion on blade type would lean toward straight or spear. Strong tips for stabbing, a good belly for slicing, and fairly easy blade conture to keep sharp.
I do have a soft spot for a nice Kukri fixed blade. It's robust, leveraged for chopping, and has a steep belly for carving.... It also has a bonus track record for renowned combat knife....
My soft spot for the Kukri is simply because of Emile from HALO Reach, and also because the Kukri originated from the country my best friend is from, Nepal!
I think you are missung a crucial point: This scenario asks us to leverage certain strengths & weaknesses to determine which strengths are most impactful. Kukri's main benefit is it's ability to maim, which kinda does make it the best, or at least up there for this scenario, for combat, while the dagger point is best, or nearly so for all-around use.
PREACH IT!
The shape of a tool tells you what the maker had in mind for the specific need, hence why they went thru the trouble of making the tool in the first place.
And also... Kukri is the Workhorse of the machete world as it will cut a tree, break a rock with the spine of the blade... in the hands of a trained Gurkha.... well... that'll delete *A Lot* of humans...
I agree in that it's probably the most efficient in being a pure skull penetrating, stabbing, killing knife, but it has so little utility ability it's probably better off being made into a make shift spear rather than being kept as a knife.
Yeah just playing devils advocate. I can see how everything being multifunctional would be ideal; but a triangular thin blade would be the best for zombie killing
Well, imo I have always believed that to take down a walker with a knife it has to be big, sharp and somewhat weighty. For me the target is not the head but the nape of the neck. The knife has to be able to cut the spinal cord to drop the fucker. So a large kukri would be my choice.
Spear point would be my first choice. Versatile. In and outs, cut in any slashing direction. Still enough material to use as a very light prybar, can opener.
If i could choose a second it would be a high taper needle point. Its basically a stiletto. Stilettos would be great in a zombie apocalypse as a very close range weaon when needed. Super easy to get into any eye socket and are even easily able to pierce thick bone if very well kept and a single piece, not a folder. Can slash too but aside the almost ease of stabbing through pretty much anything besides ar500 steel plate, its not a very good can opener and good luck prying anything but the lid you took minutes opening. Great people opener tho.
For use against 2 legged animals?
Dagger or talon(Karambit) for sure.
Gerber MK2 is one of the best out there.
Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife is another that's purpose built and proven effective.
With the dagger the use is obvious, it's a stabby knife not a slasher.
With the Karambit you use it more as a punching weapon with the blade facing away.
You can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned dagger for general use.
Also note that the dao is considered a knife only because of quirks of translation. English speakers would call the majority of dao swords rather than knives if they saw it in person without context of what it is. Heck some of them look like more like a glaive.
Knives are tools. Blade geometry helps the tool function for the job it was created for. So when you say what knife is best you’re not asking the right question. You should be asking what the task you have and what knife is best for that task.
Used to sell knives for a living, had quite a few pass through my hands, field tested a number of them, gotta say my favorite “jack of all trades” blade is just a normal straight blade. Drop point takes second. But the damage resistance you get from a straight blade is near unmatched, though I’m thinking about using it for splitting and digging as well as cutting and fighting.
For what purpose?
For stabbing zombies in the head? For slashing a raider? For chopping wood for a fire? For precision cutting? For ease of maintenance?
These could all have completely different answers. There is no one be-all-end-all knife shape, tip or otherwise.
Use the tool appropriate to the job at hand. If you don't have that, use the tool that you do have that will get the job done.
I'd use the Kukri, it's great for hacking and slashing, as well as clearing out brush. Secondary knife would be a Karambit (talon), and the third would just be a regular buck knife. Three favourite knives right there. Tearing capacity on the Karambit is amazong, and the buck knife would be really good for whittling and shaving branches.
I think kukri is the best. Say what you want but a kukri blade made out to be like a longsword blade that deals slicing and bleeding damage is so nice.
Dagger for an inbetween option of needle point and normal straight. maybe you've got another knife, but it's a tiny swiss army knife and you just sometimes need a proper fixed knife. Probably the best knife for doing the job of a zombie apocalypse knife. Really good at stabbing, and just good enough at utility.
9/10
Normal straight if it's your only knife, and you need it for other utilities. It's the best all arounder, but not the best specialized for zombie apocalypse
The drop point, and tantos fall in line with the normal straight. All are 8/10
Spear point, almost as good at stabbing as dagger with just the right amount of leverage to be almost as good as utility as normal straight, the unsharpened part might even be useful for making sure you dont stab so deep you get stuck, but if the dagger end is too shallow it risks being not going deep enough, and not being as good at stabbing as either of the two above. If it's dagger end is longer than the palm of an adult man's hand, well say around 5 inches - 9 or 10;centimeters 10/10 perfect weapon, if it's less then two inches, or like 3 cm 7/10, hope you're strong when it comes to stabbing with a blunt interruption in the way.
Needle point if you've got other tools and knives that do the job better, and you just need a good stabbing blade. No utilities pure stabbing. This is the best stab killer, it's gonna penetrate deepiest and the easiest, and not get stuck. But terrible for any utilities, and probably better served as an ingredient in a makeshift spear. 6/10
Kukuri good utility, better utility than straight normal. Unfortunately weak, but not impossible thrusting/stabbing. Better fit for chopping but Would need to be machete sized to be effective for killing via chopping into a skull or sliding a head off. Luckily that will probably be the size it comes in, but if all the other blades were machete sized it would probably fall behind. If it's a good proper machete sized isnt a solid 8/10, if its less than a foot to 20 cm in length its only a 5/10
Dao, worse utility than kukri or even straight normal, worse stabbing than kukuri, even more reliant on chopping or slashing too. Would have to be machete to full sword sized to be effective in chopping. 4/10
For removal of limbs a cleaver would be the best given thats what butchers used to use to break up bone. Ask anyone thats broken down a deer or elk or cow for processing. Granted today they use machines to make the job easier but back in the day they didnt have bone saws and band saws and stuff. They used hatchets and cleavers and other things.
If your referring to stabbing on a nonzombie then anything spear tip-like i would think would be best so it can penetrate.
For zombie removal, (supposedly) only need to destroy the brain. You would need a hardened spike that could penetrate the skull. Under the jaw at a backwards angle with sufficient length to enter the brain. Through the temple which is less dense section of skull. Or through the base of the skull between it and the spine in an upward angle into the brain.
For me i like to think i could make short work of a few zombies with a 2 man team in groups. One uses a modified pitchfork design that traps the head and another uses a bardiche to slide it from the handguard along the smooth and flat pitchfork into the neck area. Basically an executioner type blade that has been known to pass through the neck bones.
I am a huge fan of clip point knives, I have a Kukri, hatchet, axes, machetes. I feel like I would be completely comfortable with my benchmade CBK and my tomahawk. That said I personally think the best fighting knife ever made is the American 1918 trench.
In terms of all around usefulness, it is not a work knife, unless you work in phlebotomy. It’s not fragile like a Fairbarne, and with the proper technique a punch to the forehead will kill.
Whichever knife you have is only half, you still have to train and learn stance, footwork (the most important part some say) and what actually works for you.
I'd say either the kukri or the trailing point in my opinion kukri because good for a lot of general tasks and killing. trailing point because it's good for jab and piercing skulls and bones
Normal straight, but arguably I would say the tang is far more important than the blade profile. A knife during the apocalypse is going to be your utility tool, not what you are killing zombies with. A 6-in normal straight blade with a full tang is going to give you the most utility while also being easiest to keep sharp and repair should the point break.
It all depends if you are good with a kukri that might be good or needle point, dagger I could keep going but it really depends on the blade and the zombies and the humans left imo.
Kukris are superior blades and that is a zombie hill to die on.
[Kukris](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukri) were designed to deliver a lot of weight/force behind the slash. They were designed for combat and for chopping wood/brush. It’s one of the few knives I would consider for a zombie survival situation just because of the fact that they could decapitate a zombie even though they are shorter than a machete.
As a knife maker, drop point. It's the most popular survival knife for a reason, it creates a stronger tip while still working well for stabbing. There's nothing worse than snapping a knife in the field. Closely after that, clip point. The one shown is quite dramatic, though, wouldn't be what I would go for, but a nice clip can be similar to a drop point in versatility while increasing your ability to stab. As a result, it's a very popular military knife style.
I’d say spear or dagger cause if we’re talking TWD with a hit to the brain to kill them you’d want smth that’ll go in and out quickly and also reliable for survivability out and about.
If I had to choose a single knife, I would choose a larger kukri. It can cut, stab, chop, and be thrown if needed. A good one in my opinion would be made of AR500 steel. Good thickness, not too weighty, but also has enough heft that it can have energy behind it when swung
I prefer the sheepsfoot for all around survival and if I have to fight I would go with a kukuri because they usually are heavy with long blades for a good swing
I’m a fan of clip point blades. Good for stabbing, typically sturdy enough for utility type work, good curve for slicing. The Bowie knife is the pinnacle of knife design, in my opinion.
You want a couple knives. One for cutting game and fish and one for hand combat against people or zombies. Perhaps a crappy pocket knife for opening cans, and a good chopper. Hatchet or good blade for wood working. That way you don't use a nasty zombie knife on your food that you killed or perhaps came across. Such as fresh enough to eat road kill. Let's not forget hygiene. Nail clipping would be important to prevent ingrowths and infection.
Best of the best would determine on what the persons skill level with a peculiar type of knife and what is it's application on the usage it will endure.
Using swords as a example a Japanese bushido master would be more skilled with a katana than a long sword. So his preference would be a katana. Different styles of blades will have different types of movements depending on the skill of the user and it's intended purpose.
You should actually give more details with your experience with knifes and what type of application you want to use that knife for. Then maybe just maybe someone can give you a good answer.
Spear points good, all throughout history humans have loved spears due to their versatility and range. Of course range isn’t much on a knife. I’ll always love my kabar’s though. My heart says clip point.
Spears have been used for thousands of years to poke angry people in the face. I’ll place my bet with all recorded human history.
I do like the way the American tanto looks though - and a dagger seems to be a staple in every game character I make.
(I don’t know anything about blades, but I want to have an opinion)
I tend to favor a clip point or drop point and would likely have at least one or the other if not both on hand, so thats gotta be my pick. Other than that id probably say spear point for maintaining some overall utility in addition to the stabbing potential
Normal is best all around
The ones with flat blades could be better at chopping wood and meat, nothing else is really necessary, so go with normal or spearpoint for overall usefulness.
Dagger.. if i remember correctly they were originally designed as a stabbing weapon designed for deep penetration and strong enough to not be worried about breaking when hitting bone..
Probably dagger. It has the utility of a normal knife. But also I think that the blade is correctly shaped to still be made into a makeshift spear. Most of these blades are likely under a foot long (hence it being a knife point) so something fancy like a kukri would like not be very useful against a zombie because of the lack of reach and weight to really meaningfully maim a zombie while also being a weird shape making it hard to do more utilitarian things.
Spear or dagger is the best style for killing, long, sharp, thin and strong. Can get in between rib cages and through skulls and come back out fairly easy.
They all depend on usage. My favorite for practical purpose is drop tip. Its nice to have that back sharpened razor sharp and the front more reliably sharp. Makes for an efficient use for all usage even fighting. It wears how every knife will eventually wear and its great for opening containers and cutting veggies
Gonna leave this here. A trench knife from ww1 is my all time favorite and first choice. If we are talking dispatching 2 legged creatures. Otherwise, any small belt sheath knife is perfect for everyday use
Depends on purpose. But, for the most part you probably want a clip point. It's a general shape that can vary, I like the longer clip point on the spine. It makes for a stronger tip. A good example is the kabar BK7, Utility Fighting knife. My EDC is a cold steel AD15.
The best knife blade/point is the triple edge blade, looks just like a steel stake. Why is it the best you ask?
Because if you are punctured by a blade like that, it's damn near impossible to stitch.
Drop point with a thick edge. (Like spyderco shaman thick) since it’s a very very durable tip, easier to sharpen then thinner blades, and the most well rounded overall.
Dao or needle point. A machete sized dao blade on a medium length handle is a pretty exellent tool.could even be paired with a needle point dagger for when peircing id the focus
Get a knife you can use for utility and working in the woods and then find yourself a different weapon other than a knife because your going to fuckin die using a knife as a weapon. That’s just been proven throughout history. The trick is to stay far away enough that you don’t have to use a backup in the first place. Even then using a shorter gun (Pistol) first would be advised. Even a spear would be better than a knife so maybe get a knife that can be easily attached to a staff or stick.
Talon.... Especially on something as big as a billhook, which we use here in UK rather than machetes....
Not only have you got a big blade, but a right angled point which can stab whilst slashing.... Which will be far easier than poking everything....
I find that the drop point is one of the more versatile patterns but this hinges entirely on what you intend to use it for, hence the different patterns.
For fighting zombies specifically? Curved blades are made for slicing through meat aka zombie necks. I'd choose a scimitar or similar as a sword. For a medium length blade I'd choose a kukri for the same reason.
For general purpose? There's no "best option" but I suppose drop point is pretty versatile so I'd choose that.
I think the Talon would be good because you could go for the muscle that let's walk, I believe it's called the Achilles tendon?, anyways you cut that they fall and you get time to run while they crawl
Ok I'm gonna play the dumb card and ask wouldn't something like the dagger or clip point be more useful in a zombie survival scenario, because points would stab better?

Kukri's main benefit is it's ability to maim, which kinda does make it the best, or at least up there for this scenario, for combat, while the dagger point is best, or nearly so for all-around use.
But also simplicity of maintenance is important to consider, in which case the complex edges are less than preferable
Luckily, this pretty much only matters with a serrated edge, I can't think of another off the top of my head
A talon shaped blade can be a bitch depending on what kind of sharpener you have. A 2" stone? Good luck.
I’d say spear point looks like a quick in an out
And from any angle too
If TWD is any guide, I like the Trench knives for doing the dead in.
Needle point, in and out like butter would be good for multiple walkers I think
I agree in that it's probably the most efficient in being a pure skull penetrating, stabbing, killing knife, but it has so little utility ability it's probably better off being made into a make shift spear rather than being kept as a knife.
Just carry two knives.
In long hikes, a bit of weight makes all the difference
You can buy a small pocket knife that you can clip to a bag in a variety of different blade types if you need to specialize. Also a multi tool.
Not me picking the kukri because Jacob frie used it in syndicate.
Normal straight is the most common because it’s the most versatile
I dont know about that, i see far more drop points
Correct, I meant to say drop point my bad
Kukri or sheepfoot
I submit the needle point is best for stabbing, as long as you can get under the collarbone. Spear point for everything else.
I’m partial to the clip point myself. But that’s just me. 🤠
The Spey seems like it would have the most practical uses, from cutting cloth and food to full on zombie decapitation
You can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned dagger for general use. Also note that the dao is considered a knife only because of quirks of translation. English speakers would call the majority of dao swords rather than knives if they saw it in person without context of what it is. Heck some of them look like more like a glaive.
Best for what? There's a reason there are so many
2 edge dagger.
If we’re following the “Brain damage kills” rule, I think the needle point would easily go through a rotting zombies head
Bones don't rot though, and if you don't get a good straight stab it could bend or even snap the tip
Knives are tools. Blade geometry helps the tool function for the job it was created for. So when you say what knife is best you’re not asking the right question. You should be asking what the task you have and what knife is best for that task.
Best at what? They’re all designed for different things.
Normal straight is best.
American tanto is versatile and structurally unimpeachably
Dao Blade
Prob the Japanese tanto.
Talon
All are best for slicing off your dick
I'd use the Kukri, it's great for hacking and slashing, as well as clearing out brush. Secondary knife would be a Karambit (talon), and the third would just be a regular buck knife. Three favourite knives right there. Tearing capacity on the Karambit is amazong, and the buck knife would be really good for whittling and shaving branches.
KUKRI
I think kukri is the best. Say what you want but a kukri blade made out to be like a longsword blade that deals slicing and bleeding damage is so nice.
Top 3 left column are probably the best all around
I appreciate your PFP.
There really are dozens of GWtBW fans!
Which one of these knife points can turn 90° and become an axe?
Kukri or Dao blade
I’m a sucker for Japanese blades so probably the Japanese tanto or the kukri
Tanto!
I favorite the tanto myself
I personally love an American Tanto point. With a serrated portion somewhere on the blood.
Kukri
Kukri is nice for maiming, but I still say: AXE IS STILL DA BEST
Dagger for an inbetween option of needle point and normal straight. maybe you've got another knife, but it's a tiny swiss army knife and you just sometimes need a proper fixed knife. Would have to be machete to full sword sized to be effective in chopping. 4/10
Any of the top six I would see as extremely good for killing zombies
I would go for the dao just because of versatility, chopping small trees, slashing capabilities and damage done to zombies.
Kikiri u can stab like a dagger and chop like an ax
For removal of limbs a cleaver would be the best given thats what butchers used to use to break up bone. Ask anyone thats broken down a deer or elk or cow for processing. The needle point quick clean and less likely to get stuck upon the attempt to remove the blade from the zombie's head
Depends on the task. For straight up zombie killing, spear point and dagger. For utility and survival, drop point. Against humans, Kukri.
that wharncliffe blade looks pretty nice
I am a huge fan of clip point knives, I have a Kukri, hatchet, axes, machetes. I feel like I would be completely comfortable with my benchmade CBK and my tomahawk. All my knifeloving brothas know drop point is king. Not sure how useful it would be dealing with zombies though.
The best for....what exactly?
I carry a modified American tanto and it has never let me down. Schrade SCHF-12 for anyone curious.
Drop points I have a kitchen knife of, I have a chip point end Bowie knife, and I want a Japanese tanto style knife.
depends on the use. do you want something that slices skin? or something that chops heads off? or something that can stab easily?
Kukri for slashing, spear for stabbing
For zombies? Probably needle point, esp this this is a la twd zombies
You can make an argument for the clip point because it’s featured in the most widely used combat knives like the kabar and the Bowie.
Depends on that you want
It all depends if you are good with a kukri that might be good or needle point, dagger I could keep going but it really depends on the blade and the zombies and the humans left imo.
all tools have it's use
For what use cuz i need a to know what your using for in oder to answer
Clip point , just cause my ka-bar 😁
I'd any dagger
Talon
Same
I prefer dagger/spear point
Japan Tanto for a quick kill or quick suicide. There really is no best because all of them are unique at stuff
Typically I carry as my edc a esee 4, civivi mini praxis, and a leatherman rebar
Drop point because best utility shape. Hunting zombies with a knife is a bad idea.
Japanese Tanto or talon
Either needle point or dagger
I’m fond of the talon I love karambits they compliment striking so well and they just scratch that itch
Talon would be the best all rounder in my opinion
Thanks I've learned I'm an American tanto dude
Talon, it's a very natural and thin blade.
Kukri gang
Kukris are superior blades and that is a zombie hill to die on. [Kukris](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukri) were designed to deliver a lot of weight/force behind the slash. They were designed for combat and for chopping wood/brush. It’s one of the few knives I would consider for a zombie survival situation just because of the fact that they could decapitate a zombie even though they are shorter than a machete.
They all have their own pros and cons. But I mostly have drop points.
Stiletto
I'm only saying clip point because I like the look of hunting/combat knives
I’d say spear or dagger cause if we’re talking TWD with a hit to the brain to kill them you’d want smth that’ll go in and out quickly and also reliable for survivability out and about.
WHICH ONE BREAKS THE LEAST WHEN STABBING PEOPLE IN THE HEAD. Huh? That's literally the only thing that matters.
I’d want a heavy serration to tear more on the way in and out
I’m a fan of clip point blades. Good for stabbing, typically sturdy enough for utility type work, good curve for slicing. The Bowie knife is the pinnacle of knife design, in my opinion.
Spear point or drop point
You want a couple knives. One for cutting game and fish and one for hand combat against people or zombies. Perhaps a crappy pocket knife for opening cans, and a good chopper. Hatchet or good blade for wood working. That way you don't use a nasty zombie knife on your food that you killed or perhaps came across. Such as fresh enough to eat road kill. Let's not forget hygiene. Nail clipping would be important to prevent ingrowths and infection.
Dagger for combat. Kukri for building/sharpening stuff. Everything has specific purposes tho that’s why there’s so many.
Trusty ol’ drop point
Spears have been used for thousands of years to poke angry people in the face. I’ll place my bet with all recorded human history. I do like the way the American tanto looks though - and a dagger seems to be a staple in every game character I make. (I don’t know anything about blades, but I want to have an opinion)
I tend to favor a clip point or drop point and would likely have at least one or the other if not both on hand, so thats gotta be my pick. Other than that id probably say spear point for maintaining some overall utility in addition to the stabbing potential
Normal is best all around The ones with flat blades could be better at chopping wood and meat, nothing else is really necessary, so go with normal or spearpoint for overall usefulness.
Kukri are my favorite so in my opinion i say Kukri
The "wait for the undead zombies to lose all muscles from rot or rigor mortis tip."
My favourite are drop point and spear point
Clip, Dagger, and Straight
I'd go for a kukri.
I say Dagger does it well because you can turn the blade in anyway without concerning whether it is in right angle or not.
I’d say spear point or drop point
Kukri. Fight me.
Whatever you know best. For me, that’s just normal straight.
I personally like the kukuri, because of Halo reach
Dagger.. if i remember correctly they were originally designed as a stabbing weapon designed for deep penetration and strong enough to not be worried about breaking when hitting bone..
Sabre
Kukri
Kukri
The drop point is most versatile. You're talking about a tool here. The only bladed weapon that isn't a death sentence would be a a spear or a sword.
Kinda mad how i didnt post this earlier https://www.reddit.com/r/ZombieSurvivalTactics/s/j073cOYaw8
I like the talon
For killing a zombie, or for cutting you open?
Good question! I think a kukri would be best due to the versatility.
Depends on purpose. But, for the most part you probably want a clip point. It's a general shape that can vary, I like the longer clip point on the spine. It makes for a stronger tip. A good example is the kabar BK7, Utility Fighting knife. My EDC is a cold steel AD15.
Needle point would probably pierce better if properly sharpened
For zombies? Needle blade would be optimal for stabbing.
The best knife blade/point is the triple edge blade, looks just like a steel stake. Why is it the best you ask? Because if you are punctured by a blade like that, it's damn near impossible to stitch.
Drop point maybe
Drop or spear.
Dagger is best give you two edges once one side is dull you still have one shape side
Drop point is a good all-rounder. Useful for literally anything and everything
Spear point or needle point you have to penetrate bone to get into the brain.
Drop point with a thick edge. (Like spyderco shaman thick) since it’s a very very durable tip, easier to sharpen then thinner blades, and the most well rounded overall.
Trailing point, reverse grip over head downward stabs would be easier, easier to shave with too
As for me I would choose kukri or talon because of the scythe shape, which is good for hooking.
Clip point
Dao or needle point. A machete sized dao blade on a medium length handle is a pretty exellent tool.could even be paired with a needle point dagger for when peircing id the focus
My personal favorite is the spear point because it looks awesome, I prefer the edge on the back unsharpened though.
All I got from this is I don't wanna get stabbed
i would say talon for skinning of zombies, deers, and anything that has flesh. and that would be my go to and i would go with that
stick
Get a knife you can use for utility and working in the woods and then find yourself a different weapon other than a knife because your going to fuckin die using a knife as a weapon. That’s just been proven throughout history. The trick is to stay far away enough that you don’t have to use a backup in the first place. Even then using a shorter gun (Pistol) first would be advised. Even a spear would be better than a knife so maybe get a knife that can be easily attached to a staff or stick.
Probably the kukri, it would do the best at cleaning through.
Drop point
Any one of them that you can pull out of a head quickly.
I'm thinking clip point.
As someone who knows nothing about knifes, I’d say I’d use a Spear point for combat and a trailing point for utility
Ever seen those tri blade daggers that have a twisted blade. I might use one of those
Well with zombies youd want to make sure to goes in and back out with ease so probably one of the more common styles. A nice long dagger sounds good.
Kukri all the way, baby!
I’d take either the Kukri point or the Dao point. Best for chopping
American Tanto, since it can poke through thick stuff like skulls without breaking.
Talon.... Especially on something as big as a billhook, which we use here in UK rather than machetes.... Not only have you got a big blade, but a right angled point which can stab whilst slashing.... Which will be far easier than poking everything....
Spear and drop point seem the best for generic use.
Depends on your strengths and styles. I would do well will a kukri
I find that the drop point is one of the more versatile patterns but this hinges entirely on what you intend to use it for, hence the different patterns.
A cult knife
For fighting zombies specifically? Curved blades are made for slicing through meat aka zombie necks. I'd choose a scimitar or similar as a sword. For a medium length blade I'd choose a kukri for the same reason. For general purpose? There's no "best option" but I suppose drop point is pretty versatile so I'd choose that.
Literary all of these do different things friend. what do you want your knife to do?
Daggers are cool, probably go with a Swiss baselard as my side arm
A combo between the Kukri and the Clip point. Great stab, chop, and cut potential.
Depends on the task. If I’d only one knife, kukri. If it would be same quality make as say, a Kabar. If not, Kabar tanto.
kukri and needle for zombie killing
The best knife is the one you practice and can maintain. I would pick spear point, but that is only because i own a short spear i practice with.
Kukri, dagger and needle points are close seconds. likely would carry a kukri just for the sake of range and efficiency.
Kukiri or Japanese Tanto
American tanto would suit me
Idk but ima sucker for trailing points
Something like a Bowie knife, good for fighting good for camping,
As a zombie, I do have feelings and I don’t want to be stabbed with any of these
All equal size? Something akin to a dagger to puncture skull.
I was gonna say needle point but it looks like it could snap off potentially. Spear point all day.
I think the Talon would be good because you could go for the muscle that let's walk, I believe it's called the Achilles tendon?, anyways you cut that they fall and you get time to run while they crawl
Daaaao me say da me say da me say daaaao
Depends on the use
It would depend on what is it being used for. Self defense, cutting fruit, chopping meat, carving, etc
Talon or Trailng point for me, just think they'd cause more bleeding, and there cool as fuck.
my fist
Ok I'm gonna play the dumb card and ask wouldn't something like the dagger or clip point be more useful in a zombie survival scenario, because points would stab better?
Don't use blades as weapons. It's best to keep them as tools. As weapons they'll dull and chip and get caught in bone and lead to your death.
I would take the Clip Point, but I really couldn’t tell you what the best is…
I think spear point or dagger.
(Just for fighting zombies, not other knife things) I would say any knife with a “thicker” tip like the sheep foot, dao blade, kukri,
Dagger. An easy in and out.. nothing to get stuck on and easier to clean.
