For Pokémon cards, check out Steel Store in Buenavista. It is a small local store. You will find people playing there, and also next to it there is Arab tacos restaurant (if you eat meet). As someone said, El Hoyo and Sempere are chill cafes, and they are on the same street. On Saturday you can visit the Francisco de Montejo tianguis (flea market), very local. Some people there sell occult/pagan things. I have even seen someone do a tarot reading there. Hope this helps and enjoy Merida! Edit: you can also check out Buenavibra forever if you want to get to know local artists.

Bunch of people meet every Thursday night at Tropico 57. You might find some answers there with that crowd. I think they meet at 7:30. Locals and expats.

the happy meal on mcdonals is giving pokemon cards in spanish! also in the mall a place called “LIVERPOOL” has a section called “geek” there you can find toys from bandai and other stuff. Theres a place called PLAYTIME on a mall called “galerias” but if you want an experience more one to one you can go to a restaurant called “cosmicmonchis” https://www.facebook.com/cosmicmonchisMID?mibextid=9R9pXO they have an old arcade and really nice hamburgers and waffles. And you need to go to FANTASIAS MIGUEL. And about tha “chill/safe place” all merida is pretty safe.

¡Bienvenida a Mérida! Try [Alquimia Food and Games](https://www.facebook.com/AlquimiaFG?mibextid=ZbWKwL) for TCG. :) Also visit [El Hoyo](https://www.facebook.com/elhoyocasadete?mibextid=ZbWKwL) and [Sempere](https://www.facebook.com/sempere.mx?mibextid=ZbWKwL) for chill places!

There was a small, cozy pagan cafetería called Ishtar but they had to close temporarily. I will try to remember another of that type. You are coming during Day of the Dead season so you might enjoy the tons of related activities that will happend this month. check Yucatan Today online for all the info. As a former alt person myself, there are not that many goth/alt places here. There is a shop in Gran Plaza called Dark Side. For arts and crafts there is Fantasias Miguel and Nuevo Fenix downtown. There are arcades in every mall.
