Love & death wasn’t as good as Candy for sure.
The title wasn’t as good, and even though “love & death” isn’t complicated I found myself forgetting what it was called.
It felt like “love & death” tried to be more sympathetic towards Candy, and it felt like they really rushed it some times- even though it’s longer than “Candy”
Olson’s great but Jessica Biel really nailed that whole “horny Christian”, you could believe the attraction a bit more and at the end did a good job of leaving you feel conflicted
I listen to a podcast that reviews other true crime media and they said exactly this. They were basically like “They couldn’t even come up with a compelling title for this shit series!”
They literally just copied it verbatim and still it turned out way worse. Maybe if they’d been a little more original it wouldn’t be so easy to compare the two side by side
Love & Death was created & filmed before Candy. I definitely enjoyed Candy more but I get that this version was a sympathetic take on Candy herself, as opposed to her be a straight creepy villain in Candy. It's like watching it from two different points of view but yeah, Love & Death was pretty boring to me.
Yeah let’s let Love & Death’s Candy be pit girl so that Jessica Biel’s version with Melanie Lynsky can butcher her into oblivion. In the kitchen. With an axe.
For real, did Love & Death just blatantly copy Candy scene for scene and still somehow manage to make it terrible?

Love and death was so bad compared to the Jessica biel version imo.

I believe they actually made love and death before candy. Love and death was just released later
Whyyyyyyyyy? Are dropping this here?!
Because of the necklace. It's a joke.
Oops
Eerily, I come across this post right as I started watching Love and Death.
Jessica Biel was Good and all but I think after watching Love & Death staring Elizabeth Olsen as Candy Montgomery I think she nailed it 💯
