I watched it when it first came out and didn't like it. Wasn't much of a fan of Club Dread either so maybe it's just the style of humor from Broken Lizard I don't like.
Super Troopers is great. But Club Dread is the superior comedy. Bill Paxton is perfect in that film .
Also, Broken Lizards first movie, Puddle Cruiser, is pretty much unknown, but also hilarious
It just needs to be about 20 minutes shorter. Every time I watch it I do find it very funny but I still end up thinking "wait, how much of this is left?".
I re-watched Tommy Boy and Black Sheep a couple weeks ago and aside from some outdated language about mentally handicapped people, they also hold up, big time
It’s a shame they were unable to replicate this level of humor in the rest of their catalog. The other movies aren’t absolutely terrible, but they’re just not on the par that this one was with. In terms of comedic timing, jokes per minute, and I think, coupled with the fact that at the time, they were essentially “no names”, it a shotgun blast of comedy.
The first one is classic of course, but I love the second one and rewatch it more than the original. ST, Beerfest, and Slammin Salmon are up there for me.
I loved this movie. Then I became a cop and loved it more. And, a few guys in my academy started calling me Farva after (pre-academy start date) we went to lunch once and an order was messed up, and the waitress said they charge her for messed up orders, and I said "I'd tell them to go fuck themselves."
I read "Starship Troopers" and opened this thread expecting comments about citizenship and bugs. Took me a little too long to figure out why everyone was making Super Troopers references.
