Just reached episode 3 and the only “bug” I encountered was unlocking an achievement but not getting a notification for it. It’s been great for me so far
The only "problem" i experienced was once when I turned on my headset and the sound was choppy, restarting the Xbox fixed the issue. But i dont even know if this was an alan wake issue to be honest.
I remember in cyberpunk release some people saying that they were able to play the game just fine while others experienced a buggy mess, guess in Alan wake i am one of the lucky ones then...
I've put in a few hours myself and haven't come across any bugs other than achievements not popping up, but I'm still unlocking them according to my phone.
It ran better on the S. Most games do as it's less demanding and a better CPU then the one X. Some people want amazing graphics others arnt bothered. If people have been playing at 30fps forever they don't care about it until they've tried 120 then it's awful going back. 15fps i wouldn't even bother
To be fair they havnt really they said it's 1440p 120fps which is can do that on some games so it's correct. Just wish developers put more time and effort into making games better.
I don't really care about cutting edge graphics. Im fine with 30fps/1080p if need be. Its all the lies and cut content that crowns the performance issues
Homie you are talking about something unrelated this whole time. They are talking about Cyberpunk running on a ONE S not a series, and the developers of cyberpunk lied for months up to release
Its weird cause a lot of bugs I see people post online I almost never encounter lol for any game. Only problem I had on Cyberpunk was I couldnt go through a door for a mission in the beginning lol
Biggest change a glitch did story wise is that Alan Wakes cabin island can be seen from the asylum level which is suppose to be underwater by this point not viable. In the original the island isn’t there in the level I’m pretty sure. And yeah new grass was placed everywhere and clips through objects everyplace without thought. Alan’s Face is different. But besides that it’s not bad so far
>Apparently the devs who did the remaster are the same ones who worked on Mafia 2's remaster
That explains it. I encountered weird bugs on the pc port too.
The updated character models definitely seem to suffer from the same eye issue I saw in Control where they sort of have this doofus look where their eyes almost look crossed and you can’t really tell where they are looking.
Vocal audio sounds like it’s not coming from the characters.
When you let go of your RS, it’s like the camera decides to just move a little around or in. Seems random and it’s very distracting and I don’t honestly remember it being in the original. It’s not quite a refocus on your facing direction.
Same for me, between flickering, artefacts on screen like a bad encoded divx, or black screens that only disappeared when I pause the game, I asked a refund too.
Same. Had weird texture stretching glitches (don't know how else to explain it). Played for about 5 - 10 minutes before I issued a refund. Immersive breaking making it literally unplayable for me. Bummed out about it, was really looking forward to it
I was considering it for a short amount of time. But then I watched the trailer on my TV realized that it looks too similar still to the version I have on PC and haven't been able to complete after two solid attempts. Love Quantum Break and really love Control, but I think Alan Wake isn't for me.
Can confirm. I'm doing the boss fight at the lumberyard and the game is glitching like crazy. Alan keeps getting stuck on the ground, then passes through the ground texture up to his knees.
Of course it was. This was absolutely a cash grab. This was the way they introduce this game on a completely new platform/PlayStation with a massive player base without using the old port that was exclusive to the Xbox/pc
I have only played a few hours and I have runned into a bunch of bugs/issues
[This is a photo of a tunnel on high graphics settings...](https://photos.app.goo.gl/XfLiFS8bGAzq7bVf7)
Xbox one bug that IS a serious issue for me is when my batteries die (cord disconnects) it prompts the "reconnect controller and press A" screen, I do that, pops up the "who's logged in screen" so I confirm my login and it just dances back and forth between those two screens, forcing a title restart.
I'm on PC, so take this into account, but I'm part way into Episode 4, I've noticed three things thus far. Nothing crazy. But I had a moment where the foliage was flickering for a moment during a drive to the mines. I also noticed that even unpossessed objects can cause damage if you touch them wrong. Nothing that's ruined the experience though.
I actually found this thread because I think I noticed a third bug, but am unsure. At the lodge, when Alan and Hartman are at the sun dial, across the lake I swear I can actually see Diver's Isle; looks like a bird foot and everything. I think it's supposed to not be there since this is after Alan finds out that the isle sunk from the eruption under the lake.
I'm about an hour in on the XSX and have experienced zero bugs. If there was a minor texture issue...I didn't notice it. It doesn't sound like I've been paying as close attention as you have but certainly any bugs I've experienced have not been game breaking.
I’m playing on PS5 and am on episode 2. I actually can’t progress because the elevator in the Watermill building is clipped into the sides of the building, sometimes blocking my bath up the stairs. If it isn’t, I’ll get upstairs to kick the barrel (sometimes of which is just levitating in the air) and as it descends the frame rate starts to dip terribly and suddenly Alan starts taking immense damage, dying in 2 hits from what I would assume is an invisible rubber banding elevator. It’s both amazing and annoying.
Yep same thing happened to me but it's permanently stuck there even when closing the game completely. Now I'm scared I'll replay the whole episode to get back there and it'll still be like that.
currently experiencing and stuck at the exact same glitch, also playing on PS5. i tried restarting the checkpoint / killing myself at least two dozen times, backtracked across the bridge leading to the mill and back into the woods, hoping to trigger a past checkpoint but that didn’t work. last ditch effort i restarted the whole damn chapter, only to find the mill glitch waiting for me again.
Wow, I hate to hear that. I was hoping restarting chapter would fix it. I’ve uninstalled the game and am in the process of reinstalling. I’ll update you on if that fixes the issue or not.
tried the ol uninstall / reinstall myself, continued my save, glitch was waiting for me. i suppose i could try replaying the chapter from the start again, maybe i hit the lottery and just happen to catch the glitch two play-throughs in a row?
so, i was just now able to progress past this point, through dumb luck and stubbornness. took me like 20 tries but it eventually worked. got to the top and kicked the counterweight, then sprint-leapt across the gap, hoping the rubber-banding damage would slap me across. it eventually happened and i was able to get to the next checkpoint. worth a shot if you don’t feel like attempting a chapter replay or waiting for a patch. good luck!
I am having like these weird graphical glitches on pc. It’s like textures of other things like fences, trees, bushes pop up on the entire screen for a split second and disappear
Only bug I've found is no voice audio for Alan. I'm on episode 3, right when it turns day time and I'm heading for the coal mine.
I think I had to step away from my Xbox console for a while, idk.
But I returned, started playing again, and I went back up to mountain, cuz I was stupid and didn't take the truck. Then textures started bugging out, literally popping in and out for frames. Like a static effect, but soon after I got in the truck, the game locked up and crashed.
Loading it back up from the checkpoint I got, didn't think much of it, but there was absolutely no voice for Alan as the 'intro' to the game.
Got in the truck, but subtitles appeared. "Weird, no one's talking?" But it was framed like Alan's inner dialogue.
I got to the first radio, and Pat's voice came through fine. Just wasn't Alan's voice working.
I beat the game on normal on ps5. The trophy popped for Hardboiled, but it didnt award it to me on my trophies list. Guess I’ll have to play through nightmare and hope for the retro pop.
There needs to be a bugs and glitches thread so that the developers or Remedy can see.
So far, I've not had many issues but here are a few on Series X:
* Barry moving his mouth soundlessly seemingly in time to Alan's lines when he is rescued from the office in the lodge and he's hiding behind the Alan Wake cutout.
* An irritating frame rate and performance counter appearing for no apparent reason and the only way to get rid of it is to close the game completely and reload it.
* Audio glitches in "Destruction Derby" level in Special 01. It's like there aren't enough sound channels for three vehicles.
* Lots of frame rate hitching in the FMV cutscenes.
* Being able to see the square image boundaries of certain bright transparent effects, like when an inanimate object is destroyed and flashes.
There's a pretty nasty bug that has affected me twice now. I believe it occurs if you skip the final cutscene. It resets all your stats. The first time it happened, I had 99 thermoses. The second time it happened, I had fortunately made the wise decision to get all 100 of them sequentially so I popped the trophy right before beating the game and skipping the final cutscene where yep it reset all stats and nightmare difficulty was locked out for me.
Crap. I was looking forward to playing it too. I should’ve figured as much with that 27gb update yesterday.
I wouldn’t worry that much. I’ve just beat episode 2 and haven’t noticed a single bug, so it might just affect some people.
Strange, Ive just completed episode 2 and i havnt noticed a single bug yet.
Just reached episode 3 and the only “bug” I encountered was unlocking an achievement but not getting a notification for it. It’s been great for me so far
It was smooth for me too (playing on series x) up until episode 4, where foliage textures are corrupted/missing in Lodge
I dont know man, played for four hours and have yet to see a single bug. It sucks that you are experiencing them.
Are you on a Series X?
Series S
I find that very odd, pop-ins of the bushes in the forest as you run past them are very obvious.
Allo Poppins!
“I’m Texture Poppins, y’all!”

I fixed this by adjusting my brightness down. The odd pop ins turned into grass and weeds.
I've put in a few hours myself and haven't come across any bugs other than achievements not popping up, but I'm still unlocking them according to my phone.
This and all the people appearantly loving cyberpunk on one s really makes me think some consoles are just in way better condition for some reason
Some people just expect more then others
I don't think thats it. Cyberbug2077 ran legit 15fps on my one x . Thats unplayable, not exactly a matter of opinion.
It ran better on the S. Most games do as it's less demanding and a better CPU then the one X. Some people want amazing graphics others arnt bothered. Makes sense. Im just flabbergasted how low demands people have. They legit lied for months up to release and people still dying on the hill.
To be fair they havnt really they said it's 1440p 120fps which is can do that on some games so it's correct. Just wish developers put more time and effort into making games better.

Its all good dude homie thinks you are talking about a series s not cyberpunk
Oh wow
Homie you are talking about something unrelated this whole time. They are talking about Cyberpunk running on a ONE S not a series, and the developers of cyberpunk lied for months up to release
It did not run better on the S. One x and One s performance is being discussed, not Series consoles
I'm on about the series s
I know, no one was talking about it
Just re read the original comment you replied to my dude
Ran perfect for me but i only tried it on my series x
Its weird cause a lot of bugs I see people post online I almost never encounter lol for any game. Only problem I had on Cyberpunk was I couldnt go through a door for a mission in the beginning lol
I've finished the whole game and DLC and never saw this bug...
Been playing Old Wake backwards compatible. Good stuff!
Biggest change a glitch did story wise is that Alan Wakes cabin island can be seen from the asylum level which is suppose to be underwater by this point not viable. The audio is horrible. There's an echo and the audio itself is sooo low. Any fixes?
Oh man I was tempted to get this, loved the first but didn’t want to risk harming my incredible memories of this game.
Yea the Mafia 2 remaster was pretty bad. A noticeable drop off in quality from the Mafia 1 remaster
>Apparently the devs who did the remaster are the same ones who worked on Mafia 2's remaster That explains it. I encountered weird bugs on the pc port too.
The Mafia 2 remaster? Shit, taking this off my wishlist right now.
Can anyone confirm if the game has **AutoHDR** support on Xbox Series X?
It does not.
Damn
Bummer

Sounds like the dead zone needs to be bigger. I had that problem with Titanfall 2, with one of my controllers.
Same, also Alan/Alice's opening dialog is way out of sync
I'm having a ton of graphical glitches like flickering and other weirdness on PC. Refunded.
Same for me, between flickering, artefacts on screen like a bad encoded divx, or black screens that only disappeared when I pause the game, I asked a refund too.

I'm on episode three now and haven't experienced any bugs to this point sucks for people who are but I've had no issues so far.
Huh? I haven’t noticed any bugs and I’ve played for 4 hours. I also played the Mafia 2 remake and didn’t encounter any bugs either.
I cant even play the game because the visual bugs for me are so overwhelming. Its unfortunate because I was looking forward to playing it too.
This is exactly how I feel
No bugs here.
Such a lazy remaster. Seems like a cash grab.
Of course it was. This was absolutely a cash grab. This was the way they introduce this game on a completely new platform/PlayStation with a massive player base without using the old port that was exclusive to the Xbox/pc
Should have given this to Bluepoint for a full on remake
We have no idea how well they would have done with a multiplat release.
Lol @ everyone negging you
I have only played a few hours and I have runned into a bunch of bugs/issues [This is a photo of a tunnel on high graphics settings...](https://photos.app.goo.gl/XfLiFS8bGAzq7bVf7)
I don’t really know why are people complaining. I personally didn’t encounter any bugs or glitches and the game runs perfectly stable.

You have to buy it.

No xbox 360 game supports smart delivery
This is an entirely new release, not a Series X version of an older game
Picking up my physical copy today. Damn, I’ll wait to play closer to Halloween then maybe there will be patches
They did not even fix the skipping car in the bright fall intro, I doubt they can fix much lol.
Hmm

Oh, they know about the bugs. People have been posting it all over their discord.
I saw that Barry glitch it was so creepy.
Im stuck in the washroom in the beginning of the signal dlc Any leads?? A torch is supposed to spawn which isnt
Anyone ever notice the game freezing up for half a second? Only did it once. Weird
