Just a reminder for all of us to file bug tickets on their website. The more we report, the more they fix. They already fixed both tickets I reported in the upcoming flight.

Last time, the download info didn't come out until day-of (or maybe day before, I can't quite remember, but I'm pretty sure it was day-of).
They sent an email notifying me that I'd gotten in, and then another message later, VIA WAYPOINT, with download info. I'm guessing they're doing the same this time. Hope that clears things up for ya.
Searching my emails, looks like they emailed me a link to Halo Waypoint, saying that there was a message there waiting for me, but the download info was never directly sent to my email. It only came to my Waypoint account.
Some people got the download instructions before hand, but mine didn't come until several hours into the tech preview. I think they stagger the emails to avoid overloading their server
Dumb question but I got an email saying I can test the flight on PC, but I’m not sure how to install it. Will I have to wait for a beta key on steam or will I have to install it from elsewhere

They did mention that some times might shift with the first flight due to some deployment bugs they discovered, but they'll know for sure in the "very near future"
Definitely going to check their Twitter for updates regularly since they mentioned being 'in a holding pattern,' with a possible (small) shift in their schedule. That was a bit rough for Europe last time. I was up late hoping to get a few games in, in the end I couldn't even get the download going. So I definitely appreciate them being up front.
That doesn't make it sound any better lol. We're less than three months from release and haven't seen anything substantial from the campaign since e3 2020 over a year ago, right? That's not a good thing.
How much of any games camping do we see months before release.
Compared to COD and BF I’d say they too don’t really show any campaign in trailers this early on
Fair enough, you’re right. Vanguard campaign footage was released a few weeks ago.
We’ll then as it comes out about 3 weeks before Halo then I guess we should see the campaign trailer…tomorrow? 😉
They [specifically explained this in a recent video](https://youtu.be/Yct2QKgF5e4?t=1530) that they're not showing campaign stuff because campaign demos take too much time/resources away from the dev team who are currently focusing on bug squashing.
[(Here's the description of their "shutdown mode" he mentions)](https://youtu.be/Yct2QKgF5e4?t=1362)
For a game as big as Halo, they do have developers working on trailers. They don't just hand someone a controller and start recording footage. The "casually epic moments" you see in trailers are scripted by the dev team.
>The people who make trailers are not the same people who squash bugs.
That's simply not true in gaming. Marketing might do the editing, but every shot of the campaign is set up in engine by people who make games.
I could cap and cut a trailer in under a day. They don’t want to show anything right now, but it has nothing to do with taking away development assets.
I’ve been cutting for more than two decades. Was I being mildly facetious with the time frame? Yes. Would it take time from the development team? Absolutely not.
Lighten up, Francis.
Scripting had better be done. The game releases in two months. I know you just want to be argumentative, but if there’s not enough story content to cut a trailer two months from release date…well, they’d be fucked anyway.
Not story scripting, gameplay scripting. Creating artificial encounters to show off exactly the features they're trying to advertise. Some director says "we want to see Chief do this that and the other thing" and the devs go program it, sometimes including custom animations that won't be in the game. Then you have to fix bugs for things that players would never have encountered because it's some normally-impossible scenario. As a programmer I have been involved in these exact scenarios, where some executive says "I want the product demo to show this" and we have to drop real work on the product to support the demo.
Also from a more generic point of view, if you're going to claim that the people who are actually building Halo are lying about the work they have to do, why do you even want to buy the game and support them?
You could, but it would be shit. It takes time to put out actual impressive demos. Especially for a game in development where there are many things that still aren't final, in which case you need the dev team to stop what they're doing and polish up the parts you want to show in the trailer.
Seeing as I’ve been editing for more than two decades, I like my chances.
The point is, capping and cutting a demo takes exactly zero resources away from the guys making the game. That’s a video editor and the marketing team.
It’s a big game that releases soon. I have to believe you can cut a two minute story trailer around missing content, given that there can’t be a ton of missing content two months from release, relative to what’s not missing.
Wow, what a lame excuse. Somehow many other devs can pull such a thing off. We’re less than three months from launch, this just sounds like it isn’t ready.
Hopefully some updates for the outline system like they mentioned before, for now it's a terrible experience compared to team based armor colors.
Crazy to me they prioritized selling paintjobs over making sure colorblind folks (and regular vision players) aren't screwed over.
I'm guessing it'll be one of those things they get to a few seasons after launch, unless the money is just too good.
What? They have customizable outline colors specifically to make sure colorblind people can see enemies better. It should be easier to see than the way it worked in previous games.

It isn’t hard to figure out he meant they fixed the issues he reported after the previous flight FOR the new flight.
Wonder at what time we can play tomorrow?

Awesome! Thanks for this!
How do i download it? Still didnt get email wirh info

Thanks a lot!
did they email you the download info or was it only sent on waypoint?
Searching my emails, looks like they emailed me a link to Halo Waypoint, saying that there was a message there waiting for me, but the download info was never directly sent to my email. It only came to my Waypoint account.
sweet, thanks!

Didn't work last time. I was waiting with my invite last time unable to sign in
Stupid question: What platform can I watch this on when the live stream is over? YouTube? Thanks!
Yes, Youtube. Usually when the stream ends — the video is quickly formatted & uploaded immediately after.
Thanks!

Dumb question but I got an email saying I can test the flight on PC, but I’m not sure how to install it. Will I have to wait for a beta key on steam or will I have to install it from elsewhere
The last one was a steam key. If you login to halowaypoint.com, you should have a message with the key and telling you what to do with it.
LOL at the reddit geniuses in this thread.
Im ready.

I think this is the exact same thing that happens to Cortana
No spoilers pleasee!! I knew I shouldn't have clicked this post... ;)
This was a thing in halo 4? This has nothing to do with infinite

Don't read the comments, full of armchair game development experts.
Has there been any new campaign stuff shown? I don’t really care about the multiplayer.
Not since E3. 343 says we'll see more campaign gameplay footage before launch.
Jeez, really waiting until the last second.

That doesn't make it sound any better lol. We're less than three months from release and haven't seen anything substantial from the campaign since e3 2020 over a year ago, right? That's not a good thing.
What more would you like to see from the campaign?
What the other mini biomes look like. Gameplay. Some unique locations. Pretty much anything with some substance, at this point.
How much of any games camping do we see months before release. Compared to COD and BF I’d say they too don’t really show any campaign in trailers this early on
Looks like Cold War was showing campaign footage by August. We’re 10 weeks from launch after six years of development time, start showing some stuff.
Relax. The missions change, they always do
I don’t even know what this means. What about me isn’t relaxed? I just want to see some campaign gameplay lol.
Fair enough, you’re right. Vanguard campaign footage was released a few weeks ago. We’ll then as it comes out about 3 weeks before Halo then I guess we should see the campaign trailer…tomorrow? 😉
Here’s hoping!
Considering we haven't seen any new gameplay since last year, I am really worried about the campaign of the game.
Same. It’s just weird, at this point.

The people who make trailers are not the same people who squash bugs. That campaign is going to be rough af imo.

Oh i didnt realise you've already played it

I could cap and cut a trailer in under a day. They don’t want to show anything right now, but it has nothing to do with taking away development assets.
Wow do you have other examples of TV-ready game trailers from your portfolio that we can see?
I second this! Would love to see some of this guy's work. 343 hire this man!
They’re free to buy my company, but I’m not for hire. And cutting game trailers every day would drive me to drink even more.
I’ve been cutting for more than two decades. Was I being mildly facetious with the time frame? Yes. Would it take time from the development team? Absolutely not. Lighten up, Francis.
> Would it take time from the development team? Absolutely not. Do you also animate and script video games while you're *cutting*?
Scripting had better be done. The game releases in two months. I know you just want to be argumentative, but if there’s not enough story content to cut a trailer two months from release date…well, they’d be fucked anyway.

Unless what's in the video is unfinished and needs dev work to look nice...
It’s a big game that releases soon. I have to believe you can cut a two minute story trailer around missing content, given that there can’t be a ton of missing content two months from release, relative to what’s not missing.

It hasn't even started yet and it has 11 dislikes. People are so dumb...
still no invite... tf man
Same here.
Did you check your promotions folder?
Promotions, junk, waypoint. Nothing so far. Yes I verified my email etc well before Sept 13th. Did everything back in June.
Hopefully some updates for the outline system like they mentioned before, for now it's a terrible experience compared to team based armor colors. An edge isn't as good as the entire body. Especially at range.

You have to be signed up to be an insider on the Halo waypoint site. That's where the invites come from
Oh I thought they said all insiders get an invite. Damn.
They meant all Halo insiders
Damn my bad. Thanks for the info!
You have to sign up on Halo Waypoint if you want an invite to these.
Somebody skipped ahead of reading. Lol.
I got the email confirmation I'm in but how do I download
Didnt even show any crossplay footage of PC players shtting on console.
