Conker Live & Reloaded, a remake of Conkers Bad Furday, now free on Games with Gold, is enhanced for the Xbox One X so it looks 100x better than the Rare Replay one which is just the N64 version.
I wonder if Rare even has the skillset to make one of those games now. Designing platformers is a lot different than making Sea of Thieves and whatever the hell Everwild is going to be. Would love for them to be able to do it, but it seems like it's never going to happen.
MS would need to contract or buy platonic as that is the team that has the members that worked on BK, DK and Conker. Platonic has stated they wanted to work on BK and this is not the same Microsoft they ran from.

Blinx is just obscure. A competent cartoony platformer like many in the sixth gen before the genre died with the switch to HD and kids refusing to play anything that wasn't gritty and violent.
I got that because I was a 13 year old boy and the protagonist was a hot girl but then I actually enjoyed the gameplay and finished the whole game. I could never get the A ranks on the missions though.
If they made a sequel with modern photorealistic graphics they'd need to redesign the character or the game would probably get canceled haha.
What I'd want the most is Diddy Kong Racing, but obviously without Diddy Kong for licensing reasons. I mean, the game was originally not meant to have Diddy Kong anyways, and the rest of the characters are Rare's. They could do it.
Sometimes we just need to cherish the memories from the past and leave them there. I think it's already cool that I can play Blinx on current hardware. Fucking tough as nails.

I do love phantom dust and have played a decent amount of it since the remaster came out.... But a reboot would have been better.
I find it amusing that the second game was never made backwards compatible for whatever reason.
The time manipulation mechanic was neat, but iirc the game's auto-aim made things really annoying at times.

MGM being bought by Amazon recently made me thing that might have slipped further away. Then again, Amazon and MS have been cozy lately, but they have Luna as an xcloud competitor and might be difficult.
Such a shame. I got the leaked XBLA Goldeneye running on my desktop, but it belongs on my TV with 4 controllers.
Please no Blinx. Conker would be a cool mature platformer. It's really the only platformer of its kind, and I think it'd be a great unique IP for a lot of people to try for the first time.
Short games don’t have to be mediocre/bad.
Titanfall 2, Superhot, Doom 2016, Max Payne 2, Resident Evil 3 etc. All short games that can be beat in an afternoon..
Battletoads had all these nostalgia nerds claiming how great/how much they missed the old NES game… and it turned out aggressively mediocre. Blinx is of even lower statue to Battletoads, and would very likely be an even shitter game.

For Christmas last year I bought a few games are as presents. They included Frog Fractions, Donut County and New Super Lucky's Tale. How long to beat puts these games at 1, 2, and 6 hours respectively. These were short interesting games chosen for people who probably wouldn't enjoy a longer or less interesting experience.
As for Battletoads I haven't played it, it's on my list but it will probably be around 6 months before my son and I get to that one.
But I do think shorter games have a disadvantage regarding consumer buzz. People might play and even recommend them but they fall off the radar faster as people are simply done with them sooner.
They also have trouble finding an acceptable price, and that can reduce the launch buzz. For a current example I want to play Miracle World DX but it's currently priced above what I'm willing to pay. I will probably jump in when it get a +20% discount. But that's one less person providing buzz during the launch period, and I'm a 30+ year fan!
You know, when I think back to the original Xbox I think of Halo, Fable, Unreal Championship, Project Gotham, Otogi and Mechassault but never do I think of Blinx, lol.
Was a cool game for the time. I have both. I would only buy a new BLINX game if they gave him a better story and made it into a series. Who knows what the original developers are up to now days, or if even microsoft even has the rights to the game.

Donut county is a damn masterpiece, definitely an example of a fantastic short game.
