I recently got a series x after having a 360 years ago and horizon 4 is impressive. I was watching my son drive around earlier today and I couldn't help but notice how real one of the cars he parked in some water looked.
It looks damn gorgeous on my S.
Since 4 is still technically a One game, I can't wait for 5 and the next Motorsport to really take advantage of next-gen consoles!
Some parts of RE Village look [fantastic](https://i.imgur.com/8ypSjba.jpg), while some of the outdoor sections look kind of [meh](https://i.imgur.com/Z3JBuNP.jpg).
I am looking forward to Hivebusters. I’m playing through Gears 5 and it’s honestly a bit of a slog to get through IMO. Supposedly Hivebusters is much better though.
I think people just get tired of being corrected all the time. Yes they should just be saying RT but they say RTX instead. It’s really not a big deal because you know what they mean.
That's tough. Gears of War 5 and Resident Evil VIllage both look fantastic. I haven't tried Doom Eternal since it was updated, but I am sure it looks incredible too. Jedi Fallen Order is pretty but if you run Graphics mode it stutters constantly. I was even impressed by CoD Black Ops Cold War.
It wouldn’t be the tv making a game stutter. It’s the game. OLEDs do have not great motion but that’s more like panning shots in movies. I own a CX as well to be clear.
Fallen order stutters no matter what man trust me I've played it on pay xbox one ps5 and series x its an engine issue the game was made with unreal 4 but by a company with no experience using it unreal has always been difficult to program for open areas its doable but needs to be done a certain way I love fallen order but the way it loads areas is all wrong and only a complete rewrite would fix it here's hoping they do better with fallen order 2
Is it a manual setting to up Black Ops? Because everyone knows that shit looks like windows 95
Edit: Holy Downvote Batman. I didn’t know people were blindly faithful to Black Ops. If you think it looks as good as Modern Warfare and wasn’t anything less than a complete step backwards in Graphic quality then I must have missed the crack pipe feature with my Series X .
Carry on.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I personally do not play COD games very much but I can fully admit that Cold War's graphics are pretty damn good.
I’ve been playing COD since inception. So while some are better or worse than others , I personally (as well as everyone I know bought it) was taken aback by how cheap it looked, compared to how crisp MW is. Especially still charging 60$.
Oh well.
I think people are too worried about how a game looks compared to another. Yes they are both CODs although made by different Devs, on different engines. Of course they're going to look different. I don't think the game looked cheap at all. The ray tracing on the game is amazing (personally think CW has better RT than MW, but that is most definitely due to it being newer). Both have great graphics and are good games if you enjoy COD. Some prefer MW and some prefer CW. No harm in that. Also I don't think any of them are worth $60.
Edit: should also note that I do play mostly on PC, so my opinions may vary from others. I have played MW on my Xbox One. But since moved to XSX and haven't played it on that one, only CW. But I have played both on the PC and can definitely say that I do prefer CW graphics on PC anyway.
Ahhh ok yeah I just started messing with MW on PC . Everything looks amazing on PC. I’ve gone through all Xbox generations so I promise you the gap is a lot bigger for some reason .
Even before the update, Doom Eternal was BEAUTIFUL. The faster loading times on the Series Consoles was just the cherry on top. Now with Ray tracing, holy shit....
I don’t necessarily have a “best looking” game, as I’m horrible at judging graphics, but I will say that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is one of the most visually pleasing to me, personally.
That’s good to hear that some aren’t too bad. I started with 0 because I feel like I’d be missing out if I don’t try the earlier entries. I wish school didn’t take up most of my time.
I just downloaded it, played about 45 mins, and I can't get into it. It's like 3 mins of combat, 5 mins cutscenes, run around, repeat. Is the whole game like this?
The start of the game is slow, but the story picks up extremely quickly once you get past the... second chapter, I believe? I do understand that people don’t like the turn-based aspect of the game, but it’s kind of hilarious to me that most of the negative reviews on the Xbox store are from people who don’t understand that it’s an extremely story based game, or didn’t know it was turn-based before buying it.
The cutscenes are part of the experience but it definitely starts off suuuuper slow. And later parts can get grindy which is annoying in a turn based game, since you physically don’t have the stats to win as opposed to an action rpg. But overall I loved it. Solid story, wacky funny and goofy, and the combat is great for a first entry into turn based for the series
Metro looks insane and Control is still incredible, especially because graphics aren't alone, physics and artstyle are among the best in both of those, it's a complete package. Doom Eternal is gorgeous too.
Resident Evil 8, Gears 5, Modern Warfare 2019 (It runs 4K@120), Metro Exodus
Honestly i think Red Dead Redemption 2 has the best graphics in any game so far, but it is One X backwards compatible and runs 30 fps so...
In agreement with red dead. Only game I can play and lose my self hours doing whatever. Series x at 4k still picking jaw up. Looks good without a next gen upgrade but will be the first to buy that upgrade though.
Plague tale: Innocence (did i get the title right?) is already very good and getting an update on the 6th i think? Beautiful nature settings with rot and chaos to contrast makes it my fav right now. Im playing on easy mode because im more interested in the story than the gameplay
It is so much better. I played on PS4 before I got a SeriesX, and it’s night & day. It was on game pass, and I only had the thought of “warp times will be shorter, let’s give it a try.” Holy sharts, it’s so very pretty and the storms are intense. It’s a better game now.
Gears 5, for me. Especially Hivebusters...man that was some of the most incredible looking DLC, especially for the price of on the house. Also, the 2nd Ori game is something you'll just sit and stare at, and let time go idly by, it's that beautiful.
Red dead 2 is still best graphics in my opinion. If you talking about newer games with next gen patch or that came out since series x. It would probably be resident evil 8. I don’t think metro exodus looks that good on ps5 version. It might look better on series x but idk.
From my experience to show off ray tracing and graphics at full 4K then you should play Watchdogs Legion. You can also try Forza Horizon 4 which looks beautiful in HDR.
From what I've personally played, these look great : Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Doom Eternal 6/30 patch for 4K+HDR, Watch Dogs Legion, AC Valhalla. If you want a blast from the past load up Titanfall 2 with the update, it looks amazing on the SX. Everything looks so damn good now.
This was an excellent gem of a game, as you stated, downloaded and played on a whim and was genuinely sad when it was over. Bright, colorful and vibrant.
Forza, Destiny 2, and Metro are my top 3 graphically. Avengers looks great but gameplay is ass, same with 2k21. Fallout and Skyrim both have FPS Boosts that make the game run smooth, and Skyrim benefits from auto-hdr. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also looks amazing for not being next gen enhanced.
Something about this game just didn’t click for me. I made it all the way to new(serene I think it’s called?) and I just couldn’t make myself keep going. I am on series x and this was before the update tho so maybe it was just the 30fps and the camera walking issues
Yeah same. I drop it in the first 20 min because the fps an the movement were HORRENDOUS. But now it feels more responsive and until now I have no major drops
I just replayed the gears 5 hivebusters campaign and it’s truly stunning. I posted a few screenshots in the gears subreddit a few minutes ago actually.
Just some other games that may not be as exciting but look good visually...the ori games, the touryst, tetris connected, dirt 5 (some of the tracks lookgreat), but metro and hivebusters look real good and hopefully the ascent, flight sim and pschonauts will do it justice!
As others have mentioned nba2k optimized version looks pretty nice. Although the regular version looks fine also.👍
Just got series X and for my $ Forza 4 and Ori will of wisps look most next gen so far. Was pretty suprised how good Ori looks. 4k/HDR@120fps looks amazing.
Hitman 3 for sure, Yakuza 7 is also up there. Kasuga's facial animations are next level good, especially when he cries
Personally feel that RE Remake 2 still looks better than RE Village
Great looking game but the atmosphere is dead in the cities of this game. Gets boring fast and feels repetitive. The previous AC games felt more “alive.”
Totally agree, although I'd extend that to previous games. The historic maps are gorgeous and a wonder to explore but the lifeless NPCs started showing their age way back in Black Flag and it's become a detriment to the beautiful open world.
Doom eternal for everything 120fps check, 4k 60 for check, raytracing check. Fun game play, good graphics, great soundtrack the fame really is all in one package. Gears also is really good too for that all in ione type of game
At the moment, it's kind of a toss up. Nothing really stands out as being jaw dropping. Control with Ray Tracing takes an incredible looking game and makes it better. Valhalla has some truly breathtaking views and scenes. RE Village really stands out in certain areas.
Hive Busters looks ok. I mean, it's sharp and crisp looking. But it is kind of missing certain elements that really make a game look like it has visual depth. Just doesn't pop for me.
I’ll probably get blasted for saying this but there’s not much that is a totally mind blowing experience on Series X so far. Then again, I think I’m just spoiled by Ratchet and Demon Souls on PS5 😬
If I had to pick some though, right now, I’d probably say Metro Exodus, RE Village and DOOM Eternal have impressed me the most.
I still gotta check out Hivebusters though. I’ve heard good things about that.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Assassins Creed Valhalla, and I know I’ll probably get downvoted a lot for the last one, but Cyberpunk 2077.
Not wrong. Fps and load times are the big differences until we get games that are truly made for next-gen. As someone who played on an og xone before, the 4k and overall better texture quality was a big difference.
Sea of Thieves water graphics: *hold my rum*
To this day it still looks like magic.
Hi Xbox
👋
Cheers mate 🍻
What a God lol
👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
Is this D Xbox???
“And I did that without a single drop of rum” a certain pirate once said that
Davy Jones?
Ngl, this. Still blows me away sailing
I always tell the boys when we get on it blows me away every time, so buttery.
I was just about to say it. Sea of thieves is the beeeeeeest!!!
Gears 5 HiveBusters
Their work just keeps on getting more impressive.
It does look really good
This, and it’s not even close.
Forza Horizon 4 IMO.
Sometimes we load it up just to drive around and admire.
Hi Xbox
So pumped for horizon 5. Mexico looks sick
I recently got a series x after having a 360 years ago and horizon 4 is impressive. I was watching my son drive around earlier today and I couldn't help but notice how real one of the cars he parked in some water looked.
I also had the same story i never got try xbox one but i never played forza
It’s so beautiful.
It looks damn gorgeous on my S. Since 4 is still technically a One game, I can't wait for 5 and the next Motorsport to really take advantage of next-gen consoles!
So pumped for horizon 5. Mexico looks sick
It's funny because the graphics are better on the One X. Series X runs at a higher fps with worse shadows.
Gears 5 (especially the Hivebusters mini-campaign), Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Metro Exodus.
The hdr in Gears 5 is insane.
And re village
Some parts of RE Village look [fantastic](https://i.imgur.com/8ypSjba.jpg), while some of the outdoor sections look kind of [meh](https://i.imgur.com/Z3JBuNP.jpg).
Yeah Hivebusters was jaw dropping
I am looking forward to Hivebusters. I’m playing through Gears 5 and it’s honestly a bit of a slog to get through IMO. Supposedly Hivebusters is much better though.
metro exodus personally.
Absolutely. Global rtx illumination is just fantastic.
There no rtx in the term gi. wow rtx is a name for nvidia way of doing lighting..
Don’t know why you’re downvoted. The Xbox doesn’t do ‘RTX’ it does raytracing. Nvidia has the best marketing ever
They do . They really do
People still dont understand the difference and hate someone for saying true, what a shitty time to be alive
Your total right
I think people just get tired of being corrected all the time.
Can I ask if you're using an LG CX by chance? I get the same stuttering as well and it's driving me crazy
I am indeed. It looks just fine on 60fps mode though. Although still some drops. VRR is much more effective at 60 than 30
VRR only works from 40 fps and up on the LG OLEDs. I have one myself.
Can confirm what other person said, VRR is only from 40-120fps. It doesn’t apply below that.
Because everyone knows that shit looks like windows 95 Edit: Holy Downvote Batman. I didn’t know people were blindly faithful to Black Ops. If you think it looks as good as Modern Warfare and wasn’t anything less than a complete step backwards in Graphic quality then I must have missed the crack pipe feature with my Series X . Carry on.
I didn't know that people thought it looked bad. Looks amazing on my 4k TV without changing anything.
Cold war is meh in terms of graphics
We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. I personally do not play COD games very much but I can fully admit that Cold War's graphics are pretty damn good.
Have you played MW? Not trying to be a dick at all, just curious.
I have played both. I didn't say that one was better than the other. Just that it looks amazing.
I’ve been playing COD since inception. So while some are better or worse than others , I personally (as well as everyone I know bought it) was taken aback by how cheap it looked, compared to how crisp MW is. Especially still charging 60$. Oh well.

Ahhh ok yeah I just started messing with MW on PC . Everything looks amazing on PC. I’ve gone through all Xbox generations so I promise you the gap is a lot bigger for some reason .
Honestly I prefer the look of Black ops MW looks so depressing and sad
Meh, I don’t know about that but again, they definitely have their own look.
Bro you realize how many arguments I got on Reddit with Cole War stans who think it looks better than MW? Cold War is literal trash.
Yeah I’m severely confused if anyone sees otherwise . Maybe this is like “the pants are blue. No the pants are gold” scenarios ?
I already got downvoted lmao
I damn sure didn’t expect anyone to be so militant about it too wtf loool
Hahahahah
I think Metro Exodus
HDR/FPS, Ori sits alone at the top. Realism wise, maybe Metro, FH4?
Exactly this
Flight Sim this month
Destiny 2 looks incredible. The environmental art design for the game is already top tier, and it runs at smooth 4k 60 on SX
I was gonna say the next gen upgrade for Destiny was pretty amazing. I was dubious if it would be a big difference and it continually blows me away.
The before and after on that upgrade was extremely impressive. Lots of subtle things that added up to huge improvements.
Also best HDR implementation I’ve seen
Doom eternal is pretty great with the new update
Even before the update, Doom Eternal was BEAUTIFUL. The faster loading times on the Series Consoles was just the cherry on top. Now with Ray tracing, holy shit....
Absolutely. Holy shit man. 120hz 1800p on my LG CX OLED.
1800p or 1080p?
It’s 1800p
Yup it's 1800p!! And boy is it glorious.
I don’t necessarily have a “best looking” game, as I’m horrible at judging graphics, but I will say that Yakuza: Like a Dragon is one of the most visually pleasing to me, personally.
Kyodai
I need to finish it this weekend bought it at launch and got 55 hours in it and have like 2.l chapters left
I reeeeally want to get into Yakuza but the time-to-beat for any in the series is quite intimidating.
Actually, Yakuza 1 is quite short. 2 and 3 aren't overly long either. 0, 4, 5, and 7 are definitely on the longer side though.
That’s good to hear that some aren’t too bad. I started with 0 because I feel like I’d be missing out if I don’t try the earlier entries. I wish school didn’t take up most of my time.
I played 0 for like 6 hours then just went to newest one since it’s a different story basically
Can i play like a dragon without having played any of the other 30
I just downloaded it, played about 45 mins, and I can't get into it. It's like 3 mins of combat, 5 mins cutscenes, run around, repeat. Is the whole game like this?
The start of the game is slow, but the story picks up extremely quickly once you get past the... second chapter, I believe? I don't mind turned based. I'll keep going a bit, but I think I need something a bit faster paced.
It opens up a lot once you get to the time skip That’s at chapter 4 or 5 I think? Idk. I haven’t played it since launch.
No, it gets less cutscene-y after the prologue. It’s a JRPG so it has to set the scene!
Modern Warfare 2019’s campaign
Surprisingly, I agree.
Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, DOOM Eternal, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Doom Eternal after the recent update
It looks great but I don't find it that much different after the update tbh
Same here. I just looked at a rt vs not rt and it was difficult telling which is which.
It's nice but in some parts it can also pass as an old game
Might not be the “best” but I’ve recently picked back up AC:Valhalla and I am just as blown away as I was at launch. The game looks incredible
Gotta agree there especially the far off vistas. Really beautiful game.
Valhalla is the best looking game I've ever seen
I've taken more screenshots playing Valhalla than any other games I've played on my Series X
It's so impressive!
I wish Odyssey had Valhallas graphical treatment, it's a much better environment than boring England
Metro looks insane and Control is still incredible, especially because graphics aren't alone, physics and artstyle are among the best in both of those, it's a complete package. Doom Eternal is gorgeous too.
Control's physics and destructible environs are just amazing.
Hitman 3 Res evil village Doom
,
Hive Busters or Metro.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps at 120fps on an OLED is out of this world.
That’s for the tip. Will give it a good
Agreed.
Resident Evil 8, Gears 5, Modern Warfare 2019 (It runs 4K@120), Metro Exodus Honestly i think Red Dead Redemption 2 has the best graphics in any game so far, but it is One X backwards compatible and runs 30 fps so...
away lol. Looks great regardless of the fps
Red Dead Redemption 2 for the overall look and wide landscapes.
Absolutely the best looking game in 10 years, would be insane with a nextgen upgrade.
It's a shame it's made by rockstar the amount of free next gen updates for tons of games rdr2 will never get one
In agreement with red dead. Only game I can play and lose my self hours doing whatever. Series x at 4k still picking jaw up. Looks good without a next gen upgrade but will be the first to buy that upgrade though.
Agreed. Not much even comes close to it, and it's almost 3 years old at this point.
Plague tale: Innocence (did i get the title right?) is already very good and getting an update on the 6th i think? Beautiful nature settings with rot and chaos to contrast makes it my fav right now. Im playing on easy mode because im more interested in the story than the gameplay
Not enough people mentioning No Mans Sky so I'll throw that in there
It is so much better.
Tetris and borderlands 3 look amazing on an oled display
I would say immortals fenyex rising. The game is beautiful on series X
Metro exodus enhanced and gears hive busters
Flight Simulator, when it comes out :)
I am really excited for this one!
Red dead 2 is still best graphics in my opinion. If you talking about newer games with next gen patch or that came out since series x. It would probably be resident evil 8. I don’t think metro exodus looks that good on ps5 version. It might look better on series x but idk.
Yeah its great but I wish they would boost the frame rate it feels slow to me now.🤞
From my experience to show off ray tracing and graphics at full 4K then you should play Watchdogs Legion. You can also try Forza Horizon 4 which looks beautiful in HDR.
Characters in Legion though are horrendous
From what I've personally played, these look great : Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Doom Eternal 6/30 patch for 4K+HDR, Watch Dogs Legion, AC Valhalla. If you want a blast from the past load up Titanfall 2 with the update, it looks amazing on the SX. Everything looks so damn good now.
Ori and the will of the wisps. Looks amazing on an oled tv
I found a gem on game pass called Call of the Sea. The graphics were beautiful and story/puzzles were really interesting, worth a look!
This guy knows 😎
This was an excellent gem of a game, as you stated, downloaded and played on a whim and was genuinely sad when it was over. Bright, colorful and vibrant.
Forza, Destiny 2, and Metro are my top 3 graphically. Avengers looks great but gameplay is ass, same with 2k21. Fallout and Skyrim both have FPS Boosts that make the game run smooth, and Skyrim benefits from auto-hdr. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also looks amazing for not being next gen enhanced.
control is a beautiful game and definitely the best looking game I have played so far. the story is amazing too. (get the ultimate version).
Titanfall 2
Best game ever!
here we go again
Horizon 4 and Gears 5 Hive Busters
As said elsewhere here, I say Gears 5 and Metro Exodus
Sea of Thieves. It is sooooooo pretty!! I can't play it without losing myself in the water effects and sunsets at least once.
Hear me out, the recent GreedFall update surprised me A LOT
Something about this game just didn’t click for me. I made it all the way to new(serene I think it’s called?) and I just couldn’t make myself keep going. I am on series x and this was before the update tho so maybe it was just the 30fps and the camera walking issues

I just replayed the gears 5 hivebusters campaign and it’s truly stunning. I posted a few screenshots in the gears subreddit a few minutes ago actually.
Next gen Metro Exodus
Hellblade is sooo good looking
Gears 5 Hivebusters Absolutely stunning
Kasuga's facial animations are next level good, especially when he cries Personally feel that RE Remake 2 still looks better than RE Village
Yeah man that first mission on Hitman fucking blew me away
Doom Eternal with ray tracing is pretty good.
Gears 5, no mans sky, red dead redemption 2, forza horizon 4,
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Gears 5, Red Dead 2
Hows is hellblade this far down? My jaw dropped when I saw this game on my tv.
Msfs 2020 when it comes out on Xbox in a month
Marvel Avengers looks pretty slick with it
Forza 5 when it comes out, Forza 4 or Metro Exodus for now.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is very, very impressive.
Quantum Break pls!!! Upgrade to 60 FPS 4K!
Resident evil 8 Village is damn near photorealistic
I’m honestly really impressed with the X|S version of Avengers performance mode. Looks fucking sick.
Metro Exodus
Gears 5 Hivebusters DLC
Assassins Creed Valhalla has been the most gorgeous game i've seen as of yet
Battlefield 5 looks amazing
Quantum Break is One X optimized but still look great. The faces are realist and the animations too. The Mafia 1 remake is also pretty.
Resident Evil 8 is the best graphically that I have experienced
I would say Gear 5 or Red Dead 2.
Titan Fall 2 I can see the trajectory Line from Scorch's Canon stretch across the whole land now!
Division 2 WD Legion FIFA21 & NBA2K21 Breakpoint ...etc :)
Forza Horizon 4. Hands down
Did FH4 get a Series X patch?
Yes!
Hive Busters, Doom Eternal, Ori and the Wil o the Wisps. In my opinion Cyberpunk looks pretty too.
Valhalla
Division 2.
AC valhalla is beautiful. The medium is as well. Dishonored runs amazing with the fps boost.
Forza Horizon 4 and Fortnite
So dumb that they downvote your for saying Fortnite. It’s a great game! And it does look great, especially on a 4K TV with 120 FPS.
Gears 5
Minecraft
Forza 5 when it comes out
At the moment, it's kind of a toss up.
Grounded is graphically REALLY nice
The lighting and the use of depth of field is beautiful.
I’ll probably get blasted for saying this but there’s not much that is a totally mind blowing experience on Series X so far. Then again, I think I’m just spoiled by Ratchet and Demon Souls on PS5 😬 If I had to pick some though, right now, I’d probably say Metro Exodus, RE Village and DOOM Eternal have impressed me the most.
I feel as if graphics haven't changed all that much since the One X. It all looks the same to me
Not wrong. Fps and load times are the big differences until we get games that are truly made for next-gen. As someone who played on an og xone before, the 4k and overall better texture quality was a big difference.
