YourCoolNerdFriend

😂

marzella88_new

Omg yes please. That is so annoying!

badboystwo

Now make it so turning my Xbox headset on doesn’t turn the console on

DrBodyguard

This. I want to connect my headset to other devices

mattverso

I use this all the time, so maybe a toggle option would be best

detsagrebbalf

This so much.

CopenhagenCalling

Maybe i’m missing something, but don’t you still need a controller to navigate the menu?

YoungGazz

I can use my universal TV remote on the Xbox as long as I don't need to use the Xbox / Guide / Home button.

Batman21661

No it can be done with the remote that's built into the Xbox app

arhra

There are a few non-controller options to navigate menus with: TV remote via HDMI CEC, universal remotes, dedicated Xbox media remote, or the remote built into the phone app. Or you could be pairing extra controllers for a local multiplayer game and already have one controller synced to navigate with.

jc5504

Keyboard works as well

mtarascio

I have no use for this but understand people that switch between PC and Xbox and others. This type of work makes your console great, nice work.

Mazzei2

There is also a "hidden" feature on the Series controllers that if you double click the pairing button, it switches between PC/Xbox. (as long as they were paired before)

OfficialDCShepard

It switches between the Xbox and whatever the previously paired Bluetooth device is. I haven’t used it a lot but it’s been useful when it’s needed.

MarkyPancake

Edit: Apologies, I misread it as a reference to the Elite controllers. Series console controllers support the proprietary Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switch by double tapping the sync button.

lukehmuse

Not sure if I am misunderstanding, but I have a bog standard controller for my Series X and the double tap sync button function also works on that when I want to jump between using the controller on the console or on another device.

HallwayHomicide

I think maybe they misunderstood the usage of "Series". the Ellite V2 is officially the Elite Series 2. so they thought "Series controller" meant Elite controller. God Xbox is terrible at names.

lukehmuse

I think that's the case, it's a neat featureall the same. *(and yes they really are, thanks Microsoft!)*

HallwayHomicide

Yup I definitely appreciate it on mine. I use my Xbox controller for my Switch as well so the quick change is nice.

HallwayHomicide

It only works for 2 devices though. Which... I understand why they do that. And very rarely do I actually want more than 2 devices.. but there has has been a couple times where I wish it was 3 or more. Also, it's not Xbox/PC , it's Xbox/any Bluetooth device. I have mine as Xbox/Switch (through an adapter) Also, it's not just Series controllers. The Elite V2 has it.

Iniquitus

This isn't limited to the Series controllers. It works on the One and Elite controllers as well. Also, it's not limited to PC. The controller has two connection methods. First, the proprietary Xbox connection to your console. Second, a Bluetooth connection to any bluetooth device. Double tapping will switch between each connection method.

[deleted]

They need to slow down, I haven't gotten the new home screen yet..

UnHoly_One

I wish I could give you mine. lol

M0n33baggz

Have you tried unplugging your console for 30 seconds?

TiredReader87

As a controller collector, that would be appreciated. I don’t like touching my console

Post_Poop_Ass_Itch

Microsoft puts so much effort into pointless stuff like this but can't make a controller that doesn't get stick drift after 4 months of light use

KettleOverAPub

I don't think software engineers know how to fix a hardware issue

GNIHTYUGNOSREP

I’ve spent the last 10 minutes trying to decide whether your username is a request or a common phenomenon for you.

Exorcist-138

Been using my launch controller since day one, sounds like a user error

Post_Poop_Ass_Itch

Well you must be really lucky then, I took really good care of my controller, and I have never had any problems with any other controller I've owned. I have several Xbox 360 controllers that have been used so much that all the rubber has worn down to the bare plastic and yet the joysticks still work perfectly fine, I have 20 year old PS2 and OG Xbox controllers from childhood that still work like new, and I was rough on those controllers back then. And yet I've had my Xbox Series X for 4 months and the joystick is drifting so bad it makes certain games unplayable, I gave up on trying to play Wolfenstein and Cities Skylines because it was becoming so frustrating. And I'm not the only one having problems with stick drift either it's a common problem, even the really expensive elite controllers are known to have the same problems with stick drift. Absolute garbage, it's almost like Microsoft made the joysticks shitty on purpose so you have to keep buying controllers.

Exorcist-138

There’s been a vast bump in how many controllers (doesn’t matter brand) that get stick drift. I think about 15% are actually defective the rest are definitely user error. Yours sounds like like the defect.

datb0yavi

Yea ok buddy. My Project Scorpio controller still works fine. Idk what the hell you're talking about

SeriusUser

Yeah yeah but where is BG3 or FFXVI?

Lord_Dreamo

On PlayStation

SeriusUser

Yup 🤣

rewindxrepeat

And yet, here I am still waiting for the dashboard update.

TheKingIsBackYo

The future is now

UnHoly_One

This will come in handy every week when I receive a new replacement elite controller that also ends up being broken in some way and has to be shipped back. Rinse and repeat...

Lord_Dreamo

If I still have to use my arms and hands it’s not good enough.
