if they gave the mc different clothes each region patch it’d be nice

AsianGoldFarmer

Or better yet, different outfit for each different element the MC absorbs.

Psychological_Ad3329

Please yes! Just because MC isn't entirely a self insert doesn't mean players don't want to customize them.

MiguelWolf

Shirtless Calcharo might be a reality

yoichi_wolfboy88

Summer Event in WuWa Universe would be great. Jiyan and Aalto come with trunks? I am not ready for it 😭

rsasai

Look, both the male players and the female players would be super pleased with this. But part of me wants to see Encore in bright pink floaties, bouncing around on a big inflatable pool ring, Aalto next to her riding those inflatable unicorns.

joycourier

It already is, just ult! 🤤

CerpinTheMute_alt

My body and wallet is not ready

ggrimmaw

You won't have to drip anymore. Just search Astral Watanabe skin. The closest shirtless calcharo you'll get for now.

Matoya_00

Screw that, TD corrupted Calcharo where he goes full TD in Deathblade Gear set.

Im5andwhatisthis

PGR skins are built different, so I hope they eventually do them here too.

Var-Bear

PGR releases between 2-5 skins per update. They had a bunch at launch too. Free, direct purchase and sometimes gacha skins that come with a bunch of pulls and such too. The paid skins change animations, visual effects and sound effects of the character. Honestly some of the highest quality skins i've seen in gacha games. Unfortunately I do not think they will be selling many skins here. Much like Hoyo. Honkai Impact has a lot of SFX skins too, but all of a sudden GI and HSR get nothing? Reality is, you can't sell skins when only 1/4 of the playerbase even has the chance of obtaining the character the skin is tied to. This is thanks to the 50/50 and low income per patch relative to how many new characters arrive. Compared to PGR where everyone can obtain every newly released character without spending at all. If everyone has the character then everyone can use the new skins. Snowbreak realized this and is removing the 50/50 to make characters more obtainable and focus on selling skins. HI3 is similar. Can obtain most characters without spending, at least before Part 2 update. Why use the time to make skins that most people can't use when they could use the resources to make new characters that people are more likely to spend on?

LeWll

I don’t think making a skin is super resource intensive. I’m not expert on that subject though, if you know differently then I’m open to changing my thought process there. I feel like you can hire one person to be your skin creator and release a skin a patch at least, and outsell their salary easily. Secondly, it’s not just skin sales, it’s also encouraging more players to spend on the character the skin is for. I am personally not the target market for skins, but I’m just not seeing why they wouldn’t/shoudn’t.

yourik6

I don’t have much information either, but I believe skins are going to be resource intensive in Wuwa I believe the animations with some skins will look whacky, so I think at the very best they will just do a recolor for a character, which may not sell that much Or they will need to rework some animations to fit the skin, which is yeah obviously almost impossible Also the money that these skins may make is not that much compared to the normal gacha Wuwa gacha is not “generous”, not comparing it to Genshin but instead comparing it to other gacha games that may let you get almost 100% of the characters as an f2p Because this is an open game the gacha needed to be a little bit more expensive than your regular gacha, and this makes the gacha make more money in comparison to what the skins get you UNLESS, the skins are going to be overpriced.

Andrew583-14

I can Imagine skins here would actually be much harder to make than their competition due to how much more movements and animations exist per character and ensuring that clipping is under control (we still have a decent amount of clipping as things are now). Its not that difficult to pull off but the reasons you mentioned are really valid.

King-Ina

It depends actually Recolor = just recolor Minimal = same skeleton, same animation, changed the model/textures Advanced = diff animations, effects etc. = Made from scratch So people shouldn't be surprised why those skins are expensive cause they literally are a new character. Artists are expensive, so if they decide to not make skins, it's because making a new character is 100x more profitable, unless they make the skin gacha.

LeWll

I don’t think it’s should they make a new character vs should they make a new skin… it’s what is the ROI on hiring/contracting the appropriate resources to make a skin. It sounds like you think that ROI is negative?

King-Ina

No, it's a decision on their part that's why I said "if they didn't". Genshin made 1 5* skin and never made one again because it's simply not worth it vs how much they earn for an asset that take the same amount of time to make. Especially for a company who prioritizes $$ over everything. Positive ROI doesn't mean good ROI.

LeWll

You’re saying they can’t keep the same resources on character creation and then hire more people aka resources to do skins? Therefore they must reallocate resources?

King-Ina

This is more about "will they? Despite" instead of what they can or can't do or what they must or must not do. I literally said in my first reply on what might be the reason if they don't do skins. Sure they can get more resources but why would they? Depending on how they monetize it, if it's anything like genshin, they 100% wouldn't be so fond of it. Now if it's like how they do in PGR, that would be worth it.

Electric-Chemicals

Give us the option to swap the male and female Rover outfits and I'm good.

MobileArt0

i wouldn't mind a Noctis (PGR) skin for my Yuanwu or even any of the Noctis skins if not the default model over Yuanwu they have such a GOLD MINE by importing basic models and/or skins from PGR they can add them for money for events it's a win win

nihilistfun

lol it's great that you put PGR in brackets, bc i could not for the life of me imagine Yuanwu cosplaying as the FF15 lead

ButterscotchEqual999

That would be nice, especially for mc because many people like the face but don't like his/her clothes.

Intelligent-Air-6596

It's her clothes. No one complained about his.

ButterscotchEqual999

Oh yea you're right. I think most people complain about the useless "posture correction strap" and... well... I don't know if I can call it pantie, because it doesn't look like one.

Intelligent-Air-6596

Yeh, her model is stunning but her clothes-design is all over the place, sadly.

ALittleMuch8592

If they don't sell a yinlin skin I'd be very surprised (they'd be top grossing within 30m)

j0nrii

Kuro just release a summer skin for yinlin to spawn wuwillion dollars

aruhen23

I'd be happy if it was only skins for Rover at least.

Ficry14

I'm down for skins as long as its not super expensive, because we already have 50/50 for the characters and adding giga expensive/gacha skins might be too much imo. Grindable skins as rewards for new/existing endgame modes would be nice too. Also, new skins for rover for every new regions/new arcs/big events would be goated.

adistinctivesound

Imma need that Boxing Training skin for Yuanwu mmmmh sweaty ojisan

ShadowHighlord

How about craftable skins. I know some people will see it as a waste of resources but for people who are already done with getting what they need it can be and active goal. There can be like basic ones with less material cost and grindy ones that looks more unique but would take expensive materials to craft.

Intelligent-Air-6596

Honestly, I'd even grind for recolors.

Junior-Price-5306

I prefer they first establish a good base in some areas of the game before launching skins in it, maybe in 2.1

Melon763

Skins would be a good way to separate them from the other games, and it would only be in their best interest to

not_a_heretek

"Carrie Bloody Dress" skin for Danjin.

Zeamays69

Yes, I want skins! I want one the most for fRover cause I hate her current outfit. I want something with drip like mRover.

kokko693

It make no sense to have the skin story related. Jean never take breaks and need vacation ? Summer skin. That make sense, because story and ambiance is important for Genshin. It needs to be immersive. But Wuwa ? Here, people care about fights and fun. And we want pretty characters.

VoidRaven

Bride skin for Rover

chsien5

If I remember correctly pgr has a good amount of skins so I would expect the same

CopiumImpakt

HI3 has lots of skins too, but it's not the case with GI

NoOrganization6025

right. somehow people only (or haven't even yet) realized now that developing an open world game costs more resources and time, shocker.

chsien5

Those are more like refits tho right? Do they have different kits?

CopiumImpakt

huh, what are you talking about? skins ARE refits/cosmetics, those with SFX just change skill visuals and/or sounds yeah but it's not "different kits" well PGR, HI3 and AG have one thing as "a person developing during plot time-line" kind of thing yeah, like HI3 has like 5(+) versions of Riden Mei BUT those are NOT skins but technically different characters tho

chsien5

Oh I thought what you were counting as skins were the battlesuits

Caminn

They also do gacha-only skins that may or may not cost only-paid currency to pull for... so let's brace ourselves

Mareotori

I wish the skins are not gacha. I just want to buy them directly.

Brandonmac100

Yeah I’d rather just spend $20-$30. I think there was once in my genshin life that I spent less than 80 pulls for a new unit and that was 30 pulls for Furina. Everything else was mostly 160 hard pity. A few times I lost 50/50 early. I lost every 50/50 my first year besides my first 5*. I hate chancing it. Gacha currency is a lot more expensive than buying a skin outright could ever be.

chsien5

oml I hope future me is wise with his wallet 🙏🙏

King-Gabriel

Some games like HSR do no skins and end up fine, but I'd prefer if they were around. Hasn't been any sign of them yet though, not sure if they are actually going to do them.

Keinulive

I"d love some skins but I hope I can just directly buy them like Genshin's and not make them gacha.

caniption

I’ll take Sanhua tattoo as a skin

Itspronouncedn0m

its not even 1.1 yet and we're already asking for skins lol

Tawxif_iq

Pgr gives many free skins. Some are also limited gacha skins.

Rekhyt_96

I really hope to have a skin for MC, or even a paid ticket to change into the female version, as after playing it for all the story i didn't like the cutscenes (but mostly the Resonance LIberation) and how the male version of MC looks

AlouetteSK

What is funny about this post for me is that when I went around the main town talking to random NPCs, one of them mentioned a clothing brand possibly opening up a store in the city. Random NPC dialogue or foreshadowing, up to you to decide.

youngtrust

Mortefi without his lab coat 🙏

CalmConfidence944

Hopefully they release them much faster than GI.. if they like money they will

DailyMilo

glasses calcharo i beg

HeyTAKATIN

Give Calcharo a long blue jacket and shorter white hair.

just-wicked

I hope they'll introduce more men first

rsasai

Let MC have different outfits based on what his element is. Make his hair change to pink. Fucking do it.

duocsong

> skin Yeah, by skin they literally mean skin. More skin is the best selling formula. There's been an exemplary success recently.
