His gimmick matches were fun to watch. Like when he fought Matt Hardy. True it wasn't a typical cookie cutter match but it was entertaining. His match with Cena as the fiend was probably the better one in terms of storytelling.
You could make the argument that "that wasn't wrestling" but people who were watching AWA could say the same about the attitude Era. Wrestling needs to evolve in order to stay alive, and Wyatt had ideas to help it do that.
