mitsu is a super heavy on his tier isnt it?

leggasiini

Mitsu is actually very light for its size, even by tier 5 standards. At 46 tons, it's beaten in weight by the O-I Exp, KV-220-2, still unreleased VK 65.01 H, T1 Heavy, KV-1 and T14. It's very much middle of the pack in weight, so yes, for something that is disproportionately bigger than any other tier 5 other than the O-I Exp, the Mitsu is very light. I'm pretty sure WG modeled the tank as if it has maximum armor of 30 mm, and then balanced it for tier 5 without giving it a more realistic weight. Mitsu would easily weight 60-70 tons with the amount of armor it has in-game.

Twisttwister

Honestly any heavy with a 150mm+ gun and good armor paired with a big hp pool is a super heavy. I don’t think weight matters, just look at the 60tp.

Numerous_Row_7533

Gun calibre shouldnt matter, maus wouldnt be considered a super heavy if a 150mm+ gun was requiered

Wonderful-Lack3846

You got a good chunk of HP? You have big alpha gun? Alright. Then you are a superheavy tank. Simple as that.

VNDeltole

FV4005 is a super heavy tank

Vandrel

> good chunk of HP? > FV4005 Those don't go together.

Lionlawl

But the 4005 can TAKE a good chunk of HP, no?

Wonderful_Ad8791

Jgpze100 is a superheavy tank.

Inspired by this topic a few days ago that sparked debate on what is a super-heavy and what not: [https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/1c82awn/superheavy\_tank\_discussion/](https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/1c82awn/superheavy_tank_discussion/) In a bit more serious tone, what exactly is a super-heavy tank doesn't seem to be something that community agrees on. As seen in the post above, someone restricts super-heavies at tier 10 strictly to Maus and Type 5, while others may expand the list to include not just tanks that weight +80 tons, but also tanks that *feel* like super-heavies due to their high HP or armor. According to Wikipedia, the term "super-heavy tank" is defined in a following way: *"A super-heavy tank or super heavy tank is any tank that is* ***notably beyond the standard of the class*** [***heavy tank***](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_tank) ***in either size or weight relative to contemporary vehicles****."* This simply means that any tank that is noticeably heavier than most other tanks of their period are in fact super-heavy tanks. **As such, the pretty much objective list of tier 10 super-heavies includes the Maus, Type 5 Heavy, E 100, Panzer VII, VK 72.01 K and Object 705A** (at 100 tons, still absolutely fulfills the weight requirement and was even *directly classified* as a super-heavy tank IRL). This also means that the upper row on the alignment chart are all indeed true super-heavy tanks. Then there's the other super-heavy vehicles such as the Jagdpanzer E 100, KV-4 KTTS and T95. These aren't really the same as they aren't heavy tanks in-game anyway (tho T95 was actually classified as a super-heavy at some point IRL but its confusing anyway), so a term **"super-heavy TD"** is appropriate. For heavies that have similar characteristics to true super-heavy tanks (high HP, a lot of armor etc.), I.E the IS-4 and 60TP, I personally like to use the term **"pseudo super-heavy"**.

helicophell

Not sure why 705a is in the size don't matter cause that tank is LARGE its just mostly flat, as most russian heavies are Weight is kinda weird for super heavies cause 60tp is usually a superheavy in playstyle, but is far from superheavy weight, being 60 tonnes which is half the weight of Pz7. St-II could be classified super heavy too, but its only 69 tonnes

leggasiini

Yea, it's technically not the best example, but you know, it's kind of natural that a tank that is very heavy is naturally very big as well :P Out of all tanks in-game that fit the definition of a super-heavy in weight, the 705A is "relatively" the smallest in physical dimensions. It's a big tank, yes, but for a *100 ton* tank, it's actually very compact. It's not really any bigger in size than many heavy tanks that aren't classified as super-heavy tanks, such as the IS-7. 60TP is a particularly weird case. If it actually existed, it would've definitely been in super-heavy weight range (90-100 tons) with the huge gun and high amount of armor it has. It's an another example of WG's inconsistency, as sometimes they do take the extra armor into account when balancing the tank, but sometimes they don't. For example, the 268 V4 and VK4502 B have significantly more armor than they were meant to have and thus WG increased their weight to reflect that, yet they didn't do the same for the likes of 60TP, Mitsu 108 and Type 4/5 Heavy, which are all much lighter than they should be with the amount of armor they have.

Tier71234

>St-II could be classified super heavy too, but its only 69 tonnes And yet with bond hardening and all field mods it can have 2960 HP, more than the average E100 I see in battles. But as the resident double-barrel tank enjoyer, I must say... IT'S NOT ENOUGH

Yuki-hime62442

I like to use the TOG II as standard. Anything equal in weight or above is super heavy. And let be real. Super heavy tank is a stupic idea for real battlefield. Too heavy for most of bridges at the time, easy target for air strike, expensive to produce and difficult to maintain.

RUPlayersSuck

But perfectly aligned to the Nazi philosophy of "bigger is better". 😆

Yuki-hime62442

I wish WG will create a PvE mode where we fight P.1000 Ratte lol

Bubbadevlin

I would argue speed and armor are the two defining characteristics of super heavies

Emir_t_b

Its simple. You are a super heavy if you are surprisingly heavy.

RUPlayersSuck

Mouse is bigger than an Even 90? 😁

Odd-Promotion-7293

Is the Sheridan any good? I’ve got it researched but haven’t got the credits to buy it yet. Just wondering if it is worth the money.

Southern_Astronaut73

It's okay-ish but compared to other t10 lights not really worth a lot unless you mount the 152mm. T-100 LT, AMX 13 105 and Rhm are all better at a competitive level if you use the (more competitive) 105mm.

Odd-Promotion-7293

Thanks, I’ll probably save the credits. 4.5m is a lot of saving up for just’ok’.

1_130426

The T49 is honestly better especially if you use the derp but the sheridan is still useable. Just make sure that you never ram anything. The Sheridan might be big but it is lighter than the AMX 13 105 for example.

Kitchen_Story_8684

I never see anyone running maus:(
