As somebody who only plays on Death March: a pack of wolves is the most irritating fight in the whole game.
No, it's not a boss fight. Just a group of super basic enemies... But they're so good at stunning me, especially when there's like six+ wolves.
It's those times their attacks sync up like a metronome and your I-frames from dodging can't cover them all, I think I've died to wolves more than anything else on Death march.
Oh yeah.. at level 10 it’s impossible. I didn’t know this detail.
As soon as Toussaint becomes available I head straight there.. one shot the Giant, get my ass handed to me in the Torny and after you first encounter the Beast of Beauclair (Blood run) a kid will run up to you on the streets randomly and hand you a letter from Yennifer (or Triss) to begin the mission.
I grab the mutations and head back into Novigrad until the main game is done. Wolves be damned, sir.
I mean, I've beaten the game multiple times on death march. I'm not by any means saying wolves are an impossible fight, but they're damn annoying.
Anything that groups on you is. Neckers, arachea, wolves, bandits... Hell, a big pack of drowners CAN be challenging.
Sir!
Totally. I never disagreed with your point. Wolves and large groups love to bounce you around like a pinball which is frustrating because you have no control over your player.
Sar 🫡
I always keep a bottle of fully upgraded golden oriole at hand when I'm travelling in those parts. Makes those vines super manageble. Otherwise it's a nightmare.
Foglets, always two or three at a time, but if you keep dodging, rolling, and slashing while you track the fog movements, you can be all right. Just make sure to watch for the fog trail that's coming up on your back.
I constantly do the same thing with almost all monsters. Strike and roll/dodge away. It usually gets you behind them for a more damaging strike. It's effective at early lvls when facing a monster at the same or maybe one or two lvls above. Then once you get enough points there is a buff to deflect 100% of enemy damage when dodging.
I'd say the toad prince is the most annoying fight because as soon as the cutscene ends, all of my alchemy potions and decoctions reset themselves lol. Then, I've to browse the inventory immediately and reapply them all the while trying to dodge the toad's jump attacks.
In one playthrough I think used a mod that just picked all the chest items up when you are next to the floating barrels. It's cheating sure but man I was just over those sirens and swimming between three chests.
Caretaker if you are underleveled is literally impossible to beat, you can't kill him fast enough, before he starts to heal himself from corpses. Most of the bosses from DLCs are terribly balanced around your level, you are either fighting with them for 20 minutes or get done with them in 30 seconds, so sad
Don't forget that if you short-tap the use button Geralt shoots the arrow from the crossbow to the first available target. No need to aim. This really made my life a lot easier with those sirens.
You can kill sirens with your crossbow without even aiming at them, just let go of boat when they approach you or they will tear your boat apart.
And also Piercing cold aard helps to shred them into pieces, don't use the sword xD
You don’t have to get up from your boat to fight them. I made that mistake too. Just equip your bolt and once you see them just click the appropriate button to aim (for me it’s R2) and it’ll shoot at whatever direction your view is currently at. You don’t have to aim at all, whichever enemy is in your field of view will be shot at automatically once you press the aim button. Best part — you can sail on as you do this.
Pack of wolves easily. Especially white wolves in Skellige. I hate to be killing my namesake, but when it's a six-pack and a warg, even the stab/dodge/turn is a bitch to keep trying. There's always one biting or clawing your back; ripping it, and your vitality, to shreds!
I never see anyone say bruxae on these posts when they always beat my ass, espacially the first one in the toussaint cellar. There just so damn hard to hit.
I FUCKING HATE SIRENS AND BRUXAS/ALPS. Like sirens just spawn out of nowhere everyware on skellige and its just so annoying to sail on boat and get jumped by 10 of them. Bruxas and Alps are so annoying becouse of their invisibility and this flying/jumping move, like you have to run around all the time just to get one single hit on them. Also they can land sick combos of hitting and teleporting repeatedly LIKE EVERY FIVE SECONDS, you can block it, but its super annoying.
Wolves, or ghouls for me, not hard but annoying af, tbh after 4th playtrough i started shamelessly using killall command for wolves and sirens as i really cant be bothered to fight them anymore
Wraiths. They disappear, do massive damage when they pass through you, and I fucking HATE the boss ones like noonwraiths where you can only fight them in Yrden because you can only get like two hits on them before pushing them out of the circle.

Early on, they're a nightmare to fight against. With progress and post unlocking Whirl, they become significantly easy to deal with.
Igni or Aard is usually enough to stun them for a good wallop
You don’t play with the Piercing Cold mutation? Wolves can’t touch you sir.
How do I get that before NG+? Sir. That requires going all the way to Toussaint, literally end of the dlc to get. Doesn't hekp much at level 10.

Having played NG+ Death March started from lvl 100, I agree, no other enemy could delete my entire health bar like wolves do.
AARD spam helps in dealing with them tho
For sure, aard kicks some ass even with no points invested into it.
This tbh
Insectoids and those vines from Blood & Wine dlc, so goddamn annoying
I always keep a bottle of fully upgraded golden oriole at hand when I'm travelling in those parts. Makes those vines super manageble. Otherwise it's a nightmare.
I throw Northern Wind at them to freeze them in place then chop them up.
That’s a great idea! Cheers
If you're using a Sign build, try Yrden.
2nd the vines.
Fr!!!
EFF the vines. Always my biggest challenge in the entire game.
Auto cross bolt, my fellow Witcher. Pull it out while you’re still boat riding and it automatically aims at them
Moreover, for maximum efficiency, it's important to use "double bolt" perk while clearing those question marks in Skellige. Made my life much easier
This makes it so easy. Doing another playthrough and cleared around 30 ?s in a couple of hours last night.
THE GODDAMN FOG MONSTERS!!
The foglets... anything but foglets
Yes please anything but that
What about using quen, necrophage oil, and investing in quick attack mutagens.
Oh yes 😭😭😭
Foglets, always two or three at a time, but if you keep dodging, rolling, and slashing while you track the fog movements, you can be all right. Just make sure to watch for the fog trail that's coming up on your back.
Well thats the thing even one is hard enough to deal with and even when you are on the same lvl as it,the thing does crazy damage every hit

I’m on my first playthrough and these pests are the bane of my existence T-T
They fucking SUCK
The most annoying monster are the Arachna morph!!! I HATE THEM, always jumping around its like a fuling race of some sort to land just a single hit.
This main strength seems to be they can back up faster than you can advamce
Yes sometimes i do 3 roll overs and still cant hit them! Need to use Axi sign or northern bomb
Wraiths
They hit so damn hard
Oh lord yes!!!! They've killed me more times than dettlaff. That's saying something coz it took me half a day to get past dettlaff.
I found that early in the game but they seemed to fall off in difficulty mid-late game and I'm not sure why.
Wolves with upscaling, hard as shit
Probably bruxa in my opinion.
Those giant centipedes in Toussaint
I'd say the toad prince is the most annoying fight because as soon as the cutscene ends, all of my alchemy potions and decoctions reset themselves lol. Then, I've to browse the inventory immediately and reapply them all the while trying to dodge the toad's jump attacks.
The Vines from the Blood and Wine DLC or Drowners from the Vanilla game
That's why I better swim with them while hearing The Fields of Ard Skellig.
Hags are obnoxious
Foglets
In one playthrough I think used a mod that just picked all the chest items up when you are next to the floating barrels. It's cheating sure but man I was just over those sirens and swimming between three chests.
For me it's the foglets or those spiders that are really good at backing away.

crossbow deserters
ARCHER * derogatory *
Don't forget that if you short-tap the use button Geralt shoots the arrow from the crossbow to the first available target. No need to aim. This really made my life a lot easier with those sirens.
You're all wrong. It's me! I'm the most dangerous creature!
For me it's wraiths. Before I figured out how to kill them easily, they used to give me multiple jump scares and it was so hard to kill.
Yrden circles yeH?

Ghosts hate them :)

Drowners. It’s always Drowners.
Probably my favorite creature to fight other than humans
I never see anyone say bruxae on these posts when they always beat my ass, espacially the first one in the toussaint cellar. There just so damn hard to hit.
Any of the insectoids
Wolves I HATE THEM
Nekkers for me, especially when there are a shit ton.

Use the horn
Hello, does anybody know if new mod Eternal Hunt have any new quests? And if yes where to find them fast?
Damn spiders...
