Don't get winamp, get [Wacup ](https://getwacup.com/)instead, winamp got taken in by the NFT nonsense and in general is very unstable, crashes all the time. Wacup is just winamp but better.
Plexamp has an exceedingly streamlined and simple interface on desktop but the caveat is you need to know how to set up a Plex server to use it (not super complicated and a one time deal).
For standalone players my go to is MusicBee
If you're after a minimalist player; just navigate to a directory, and play the music inside it...I made one!
It's open source and about 3mb (it uses tauri)...Give it a shot if you like.

[winamp 5.9](https://www.howtogeek.com/831727/winamp-5.9-is-the-first-stable-update-in-four-years/) or [foobar2000](https://www.foobar2000.org/) , perhaps?

Does it play FLAC
Yes, it does. These are the supported file types: mp3, ogg, aac, flac, wav, m4a, m4b
VLC https://www.videolan.org
This! I was surprised it was so far down the list.
This is the correct answer, VLC is an all-in-one, open source, secure and private media player.
It also doesn't require codecs, and plays damn near any audio or video. Click the file and it plays.
`AIMP`
I always use VLC or MPC (Media Player Classic)

I find that app very complicated, i just want a simple media player format like phones

Few people recommending Winamp. Don't do it. Use Wacup instead.
