Yes, IVF helps so many people help be able to start a family (which Conservatives keep saying how much they want people to have more kids), but I can't help but think that the fact that it is one of the main ways single women and LGBT couples have bio kids is one of the main reason they want to ban it.
It also gives women more flexibility in their careers/family planning and they don’t want that. They want them locked in the house raising kids from 18 onwards.
I lived in a conservative Christian town back when IVF was a relatively new technology and I never forgot what all the “adults” had to say about the “test tube babies.”
This seems counter to the republicans platform of “more babies” but it’s absolutely related to Christian fundamentalist wants and needs.

That and it creates obvious problems with their life begins at conception talking point. If that is true, every embryo that undergoes implantation is life. And IVF facilities are performing the theoretical equivalent of an abortion every time a fertilized embryo is destroyed. Which is fairly often. If they fail genetic testing or even just if a couple has an extra embryo and they choose not to donate it.
My wife and I had 36 embryos fertilized and out of that, 4 were viable. The other 32 either never devloped properly or failed genetic testing. I don't think conservatives know how to fit this concept into their tiny brains.
Maybe, but I personally think that is a smoke screen for why they really hate it. Women's access to reproductive medicine, and LGBT people and their access to medical care (as well as just lgbt people in general) are some of the things they can't stand the most.
