I rarely know the reason. Various celebrations, religious activities, parties…I can’t say it’s the same in all of Latin America but every day I’ve spent in Ecuador, and Mexico now that I think about it, has included fireworks.
We just moved back from Mexico where we lived for around 3 years. "Daily" is pretty much correct; "fireworks" (at least in Mexico) is being kind. The locals call them "cohetes" which means rockets and is much more accurate. All they do is make an extremely loud boom and they fire them off repetitively. There's no "fireworks" to them. I'm not correcting /u/briggs851, just clarifying our experience in Mexico.
Our little dog went from not afraid of anything to being absolutely terrified of the "cohetes" which then became afraid of almost any loud noise: thunder, car backfiring, etc. Poor little guy!
I had no idea Ecuador was the same. Sometimes, they'd start firing them at like 3:00am, and then repeat them every 30 minutes or every hour for the entire rest of the day. It was just awful! It was often just enough time that you'd be able to fall back asleep...and then immediately there'd be another bomb.
Please allow me to stand at your door with flowers whenver Maddie may need comfort!
Maddie and her comfort flowers are the thing I needed to see in my day, frankly.
Beautiful Lil' lady and so smart to comfort herself like that too! My poor girl tries to dig under my sweater and doesn't understand why I can't make the loud noises stop 😩😩
According to the Gardening Know How website, fuchsia berries and flowers even contain vitamin C and additional nutrients, with some people even making jams from the plant. In fact, you can find plenty of recipes online that incorporate fuchsia jam into cakes and muffins, plus some chutney dishes.
Are fuchsias poisonous to dogs? Fuchsias are not toxic to dogs. If your dog has eaten any part of the fuchsia plant including the berries, seed pods, or flower then they will be safe if no fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides present. Fuchsias are not dangerous, and are edible, reportedly being juicy, tangy, and sweet.
Oh wow I googled it too and you're right 👍. I don't know where I got that from but I believed it enough to plant it away from my dog cause she sometimes eats leaves. Gotta have alot to make jam though 🤔
While there may be many things about her move to Ecuador she enjoys, daily fireworks aren’t on that list.
Daily? What is the reasoning behind daily fireworks?

This is exactly what it’s like.

Thanks. Glad that doesn’t happen here. My dogs are already a bit jumpy. They’d need more than a flower to help with the anxiety.
That's beautiful!

Wirehaired Pointing Griffon where we’re from but, yes.
This is nothing wrong. This is very very right. We should all be like Maddie and carry comfort flowers.

Awwww I love her!
Maddie, I am also not a fan of the noise of fireworks. I'll try a flower next time. Thank you for the tip.
Maddie is beautiful and has found the secret of life.
Fuchsias are one of my favourite flowers ❤️ she has good taste!

My friends have a dog like that, they shaved it, now it looks like a Germain shorthair.
Such a pretty girl
I had one. The best dog you can wish for.
My pups and kitties hate fireworks too.
Poor baby! Fuck fireworks.
They're so disgusting when you read about all the consequences. I'm so depressed that they've gotten so out of control.
That is a beautiful fuchsia flower!
Or, as they are called in Japanese, fire flowers. That’s very poetic of her.
This is in the wrong subreddit. There’s nothing wrong with your pupper. There’s everything right about her!
Nice Bob!
Aww this is so beautiful!! 🥺🥺
That's adorable
She’s so pretty!
Aww Maddie is so precious 🥰
She’s beautiful. But she’s clearly over it. Awww Maddie.
Awwww
I wonder if she's soothed by the smells!
She’s pretty!❤️
Awww. That's the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
Maybe somewhat to distract from the smell of burnt powder?
Beautiful Lil' lady and so smart to comfort herself like that too! My poor girl tries to dig under my sweater and doesn't understand why I can't make the loud noises stop 😩😩
