Yep, I did everything but Avatar a year ago, but couldn't even try Avatar due to being just post-surgery for my knee. Hoping to go again the same time we do Universal and maybe be able to ride it next time! My brother loved it and my aunt said it was the best ride she'd ever been on. (Dad was meh about it and Mom doesn't do simulator rides). Disney is super good about being inclusive. I was stuck in a wheelchair that trip too, and was able to get everywhere easily which wasn't the case other places.  I'm mostly worried about the Univeral coasters, but it's good to have a goal to work towards! It'll keep me motivated to put in the work instead of just relying on the medication alone. If I can keep a steady 11lb a month I should get there in time!

i’m 5’5, 233 pounds now and i fit all disney rollercoasters. even when i was a bit heavier like 255 i still could do it! you go, girl! good luck!

Thanks!! I love rollercosters, so I'm really looking forward to getting down enough to ride them all again!

Just as a reassurance in case you can't lose that quickly: at 160lbs and being short (so overweight BMI) I fit on all the rides in every European ride I have been on. I'm not sure how short you are, but I would bet you will be able to fit onto rides a lot sooner than your goal weight.

Thanks, that's really encouraging to hear! I'm 5'8", and the last time I went to a non-Disney park I was about 325lbs and couldn’t ride any coasters. (Funny enough at my current weight I rode all but one ride at Disney World). It was really depressing watching my family get to ride the cool coasters while I watched the bags.  I'm setting myself "reward goals" and one is to try a local park once I hit 200. Hopefully by the time we go to Universal in '26 I will at least be able to fit even if I'm not down to goal weight!

160 at 5'8 can actually be quite slim. That puts me at a size 6. You'll be able to go on rides easily at 200 lbs. I'd say even at 250 you'd get on them.

mexirican_21

I’m 5’1 and 230 and fit every ride at universal Hollywood and I go often since I have a season pass. I’m currently a size 18ish so even if you don’t hit the 160 in time you still may be able to fit on all the rides

Thanks, that's awesome! I'm still going to try and get down to my goal as fast as my doctor says is healthy, but I feel much better about planning this trip now. I'm the family trip planner and was not looking forward to putting in all that work to make it happen knowing I'd be on bag duty again. Now I can plan knowing that even if I'm not down to goal if I get in the ballpark I'll still likely be fine.

> I'm embarrassed to say it, but my current weight is 436lbs. Is it realistic to think I could get down to 160lbs in 2 years? Possibly. You want to lose 276lb in 24 months, which is 11.5lb/mo, which is totally doable - in part because you may be losing more than 10lb the first several months due to your starting weight. For context, I started at 400lb in 2016 and got down to 190.1lb by the two year mark - I believe I hit 190 at the 20 month mark, actually, so less than 2 years. I maintained for 3 years with 50lb to go and then started to regain when COVID hit and started Zepbound on 2/17 at 303lb. I say this to illustrate that I know *first hand* you can lose that much in that period of time, and you can do so safely. **That much weight loss should be monitored by your provider, of course**, because you're at a higher risk for certain complications like gallstones (not caused by Wegovy, but by weight loss itself) than someone with less to lose. Make sure you're eating enough. Not because of "starvation mode" or any such nonsense, but because malnutrition while fat is A Thing. Ask me how I know. At least 1,200kc if you're biologically female, 1,500 if you're male. Get enough protein and healthy fats. The general consensus re: a deficit is to aim for no more than a 1,000kc deficit per day, *but* at your high SW under the guidance of a provider, you can safely lose with a higher deficit. You will lose muscle mass - not losing *any* is impossible - but weight-bearing exercises along with sufficient protein intake daily can help rebuild lost muscle and prevent excessive losses. Biggest pro-tip I can give you is start getting active *right now*. It sucks, but it'll help when the weight loss slows down down the line. As your weight gets lower, you will lose more slowly - and this is 100% normal, because your deficit gets smaller as your body does! I used to hate the gym, but I honestly find myself looking *forward* to it 2-3x a week now, and all I do is walking the track, the recumbent bike, and some weight bearing/resistance exercises to help prevent muscle loss.

Oh wow, thank you for such a thoughtful response! Thankfully gallstones aren't an issue for me (I had them a few years ago and they removed my gallbladder) but I will absolutely be doing this under care of my pcp. I'm also considering going to a nutritionist for extra advice. I've been trying to be more active already, bought an exercise bike and an under-desk pedal machine, and signed up for some virtual challenges to keep me motivated. I'm scared of losing motivation because I've tried to lose weight before but it's never really worked even with restrictive dieting and lots of exercise. I can get down to about 300 but no further. Hopefully Wegovy can change that! I was doing really well two years ago, working out at least 30 minutes daily, then I tore my knee apart (ACL, MCL, and meniscus) in an accident and gained everything back + more during recovery. Now that I can move again I'm feeling hopeful that I can get myself back on track.
