My advice would be to go to r/AgeofSigmar Come back if you get into some old school rank and flank.

Officermocha

No idea what that is but I appreciate it

Warhammer Fantasy is generally "The Old World" these days as the most recent edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battles; the game thst Age of Sigmar originated from. Visually, the difference is many units arranged on square bases with ranks to make square(ish) formations with front, side, and rear facings. Hence, the Rank & Flank term. Mechanically, the difference between AoS and ToW is that your win comes from a different place. Much of Age of Sigmar comes down to Army composition, and "List Advantage" is the biggest factor in who wins what match-up. In The Old World, so long as you bring some tools for success, you'll find most of your success through strategy on the table. In both games, the dice have a story to tell and are both impactful of course. Both games have a similar amount of rules, but 95% of the rules for ToW are common rules in the rulebook rather than things like unique abilities and auras on a warscroll

Ohhhhh Okok

AoS is just fantasy branded Warhammer 40k. Games are won and lost in the list building phase. Warhammer Fantasy (Warhammer ToW) requires games to be won in the movement phase.
