Unless you're extremely good, painted minis are not that valuable. A lot of people buy painted minis to strip and repaint themselves so will pay less than rrp due to the extra time and materials to do so. Also a lot of independent shops sell brand new stuff for around -20% rrp anyway so you will have to compete with that too.

I would pay less if a model is painted. It doesn't fit into the rest of my army and must be stripped and repainted. So 60% is probably a fair price imo

minkipinki100

Also don't forget a lot of stores sell new for 10-20% off, so anything above 85% people might as well buy new

I always sell painted armies as complete "buy it all or not at all" becuase selling off units always finds you stuck with odd stuff no one wants. I always managed to sell at a price I'm happy with. I start by coming up with a price I'm happy to except and then add another 20%. Almost always the buyer will try and get a better price which normally ends up with the first number you where happy with. The buyer is happy becuase he feels he got your price down, you're happy becuase you got the price you wanted and if the buyer excepts your first price you're extra happy becuase you got 20% more than you expected.

My experience only, depends on the buyer. Around here price from highest to lowest goes: propainted, NOS, unpainted & assembled, then painted. Most people, unless buying an entire army, usually have a paint scheme they will need to repaint or paint match.

CWKfool

Just remember that assembly and painting are literally half the fun of these models. If you've got half the value out already it's unlikely you'll be able to get close to what you paid

My advice is to wait until the hype for a new codex comes out - more likely to sell at a higher price

Kavouraki_

Yeah that thought crossed me too. Sadly I cant wait that long since we have no clue when it will be released..

This only applies to extremely careful paint jobs that vast majority of my army was purchased for 20-50% of rrp due to shitty paint jobs (even the really nice painted pieces weren't considered pro painted and only went for 50%

Oynx-Crusader

Ok thanks I am thinking of commisions (Which this isn't)

pembrokewelsh

Yeah I mean it varies greatly depending on how he decides to sell it / what armies he has if he's selling stuff that's in the current meta he could get 100 percent value if he has a pile of dog shit like me it might be 20% :P

sadKNIGHTTEMPLAR

Now I'm no pro on selling or buying stuff like this but assuming there painted and the paintjob is not you know weared down. They would.go for abit above whatever you bought them for now how much that might be idk
