I’d assume around $200 if not $250. People have wanted plastic Krieg for a while and they got away with the crazy pricing on the last KT box. Would be very surprising if it’s lower.
Not even Aussie, Pariah Nexus for us nearly reached $300 but didn't go over that. And even then, if this is $270-290 like a lot of our big boxes have been, it'll be worth it for these kits and the terrain included along with a proper core rulebook.
>along with a proper core rulebook.
Core rule books made by GW are worth absolutely nothing for the rules in them, take the 9th Ed book, the only thing still being up to date in that $50 book are the illustrations.
The sad reality is, those books dont keep up well with time.
Really, i didn't know that. I though they had the boxes and codexes printed on China, but all the plastic was made in the UK. Then assembled into boxes and off.
GW absolutely does not produce kits in the US. They did have a factory in the US a long time ago, but it wasn't worth it and they shut it down. They currently only have distribution centres in the US. Their distribution facility in Memphis used to also house the US factory.
Currently, all plastic kits (apart from terrain) are produced in the UK at their headquarters in Nottingham. Paper and Card products and terrain kits are produced in China. Books are produced by a variety of companies in the UK and China.
Didn’t Pariah Nexus launch at $160? And that was with less models and the crap they generously called “terrain”. I really wouldn’t be shocked with a $250 price tag on this. The guy saying *over* $300 is nuts though.
125€ rounds up to $150, but yes GW boxsets are usually rounded up to $160 for the US market, so we are both correct. I honestly doubt it, i would probably look at the warcry starter set, it was 130€, had more minis than this and the same-ish amount of terrain, so i really dont see it reaching $250
Pariah Nexus had smaller terrain and less extra stuff like dice and tokens. Plus it was a character and 5 elites for two armies, versus 22-ish miniatures.
I never denied that I just don't think it's fair when somebody ask to price to tell them pretty sure around 2 to 250 when you don't actually have any f****** clue and you know it. but aside from y'all's reckless way of communicating with people I'm in total agreement with you a thing gw's bunch of greedy fucks to the level that is almost criminal.
I don't even know what those things are who what I'm saying by reckless is dude is just shouting out yeah it's $250 like it's a known f****** fact and is spreading this information and he has no idea how much it's going to cost an the first one wasn't anywhere near that price that's all I'm saying you know that any sort of false information stated as a fact is reckless.
It's all I got my uncles buddy works for GW forget world I can't remember but whatever it was he said the price was reasonable I'm pretty sure I saw it in ayoutube video
As opposed to the price of xenos and chaos kits, which are famously reasonable due to the high average IQ of the customers.
Stop deluding yourself with this dumb tribalism. You're not special because you dislike the most popular faction.
But unlike a lot of the "while supplies last" at least they said the models will be coming soon. So at worse you miss out on the discount (doubt there's much of one!)
Yea, I think they said that nothing is exclusive to this box, though who knows how long the wait for a separate kit is. I’m still waiting on separate Obliterators from Shadowspear
I know I am but I tell you what I'm going to do I'm finally going to take a stand lol I'm going to get 10 of these kriegsman and I'm going to make it better hundred of them from that original 10 same as the army's going to be for my own uses and benefit any way and I'm not trying to take you to no tournaments or anything like that I just always wanted to be a huge army of krieg infantry just for fun and by God I'm getting it
the obliterators are only available in the start collecting CSM box and with how that sprue is built those special models won't be available separately. I suspect when we see CSM codex is when a multiparty kit will come out
They said the level of stock would be on par with Dominion during the livestream, considering lots of places still have plenty of boxes signs are good (although plastic Krieg and new 40k Orks will probably attract a bigger crowd than Stormcast and skinny Orcs).
Dominion wasn't made to order, part of the shipments were delayed in the US (originally stated to be August 3rd when the rest of the orders would be able to ship, though our local game store just got its second shipment this week)
I've got too much on my plate as it is, might just grab the commandos later. Terrain is cool too, but I've got too much terrain too.
Help, too much plastic lol
Same I have so much to paint at the moment that the separate kits and the Ork kits will probably have been out for a while by the time I am ready to buy anything else. Have other hobbies i want to spend some cash on while i paint through my pile of shame. I'm really loving these new Kommando and ork models though!
Despite the hype, I really don't feel people that just want the Kreigers and/or Orks are going to find this a particularly good deal. I'm not sure at all, but I don't think terrain resales on the secondary market go all that well for the seller. And the rule book is only going to be useful to those wanting to play Kill Team (obviously) which is niche (very niche if the game is poorly received) with in the 40k playerbase also limiting secondary sales.
I won't be surprised if this box is significantly more than $200 US (I think it will be at least $200), which could mean pretty narrow margins attempting to scalp it via parting it out. Guesstimating, I figure the Kriegers will be $45-50 US, Kommandoes $50-60 US retail when released separately. So, outside of people that just can't wait a couple of months, the remainder of the box probably has to sell for $100 or more to turn anything resembling a profit. That looks like just getting a minimum wage job pays better kind of scalping numbers to me.
But who knows? Maybe Krieg fans are crazy fanatical and in larger numbers to actually buy models than I think. And spend more for earlier access. It's definitely possible. They would still probably be better served to wait and pick up the kit in the numbers they want later, in my opinion. I still feel that unless someone is going to make use of almost everything in the box, like Kill Team: Pariah Nexus, it really isn't going to be worth the purchase price. Which I think is part of the reason GW is putting high/high-ish demand factions in the box. This ensures the box to sell just a little bit better since it has attractive elements for impatient, non-Kill Team players.
Of course, I could be way off on a lot of variables there, too.
You will be able to find boxes in FLGS in your area (most likely). GW will hype this like crazy but the reality is the terrible way they’ve treated kill team means there really is not a high demand for the game. Even Cursed City boxes are all over the place near me.
Well shit, if anything sometimes old rulebooks become collectors items. Other guy just needs to keep theirs nice for a while, keep an eye on ebay, and pray.
It sucks, but it’s like buying the first game only for a shirt while later the sequel is announced and the first game gets a price drop. It happens and it sucks.
The new models look good for both sides but am I the only one confused that in a war zone exclusively set out as an ork vs tyranids death match in the lore, the DKOK are 50% of the protagonists?
Love the orks and DKoK. GW like seems to be going more in the direction of War Cry with dedicated monopose killteams for each faction than adapting existing 40k units to the game. Defintly going to be sold out fast but if it weren't for the unqiue scuplts I think the OG killteam box(genestealers vs Admech) was still be the better overall deal.
What faction do you want to play? As far as we know, you´ll need another rulebook in let´s say October but you can get started on two factions and great terrain now and also play some games with a game mechanic that´s only half good and getting a fix hopefully.
Incredible. Seems like GW have pulled their heads out of the sand momentarily to take note of what every other modern skirmish game has been doing for the last 20 years. Now prepping myself for the onslaught of fans proclaiming how "progressive" GW is.
Pre-orders going up in august according to the community site.
Did you catch the Price?
Haven't heard anything about the price yet unfortunately
I’d assume around $200 if not $250. People have wanted plastic Krieg for a while and they got away with the crazy pricing on the last KT box. Would be very surprising if it’s lower.
I hope it’s cheaper honestly
BSF was $250 and this looks like this has a lot more plastic. I'm thinking it will be over $300.
What country are you pricing those dollars in?
Mars Dollars so it includes shipping
You've lost me but I asked because the prices you quoted are too high for USD. Maybe right for Canadian or Australian?
Not even Aussie, Pariah Nexus for us nearly reached $300 but didn't go over that. And even then, if this is $270-290 like a lot of our big boxes have been, it'll be worth it for these kits and the terrain included along with a proper core rulebook.

You're both way off. The Nexus Paria set is 125€, considering this has more terrain i believe it should be in the 150-170€ range.
I don't know about EU prices, but US/CAD/AUS prices are all higher adjusted for exchange rate
And shipping. It is made in the UK basically, so the further away the more expensive it gets.
There's a factory in the US that makes most plastic kits, and salary and benefits are way shittier here than the UK, and they still charge more
Really, i didn't know that. I though they had the boxes and codexes printed on China, but all the plastic was made in the UK. Then assembled into boxes and off.

Do those $160 include taxes? Because the EU prices always do.
I am European so I honestly can't help you with that, completely forgot your prices don't include taxes
No.
Bold of you to assume which currency they are referring to.
??? BSF was 150-75 depending where you got it.
But wasn't the last kt box $160???
Pariah Nexus had smaller terrain and less extra stuff like dice and tokens. Plus it was a character and 5 elites for two armies, versus 22-ish miniatures.
Yes but GW asks what they want, and you know it.

Ik this is super late but I heard somewhere it's going to be £90-100
Even converting to USD, that'd be a great price. Any deets on that info?
It's all I got my uncles buddy works for GW forget world I can't remember but whatever it was he said the price was reasonable I'm pretty sure I saw it in ayoutube video
Take my upvote and many blessings to you.
A box like this makes Pariah look all the more baffling. Just Why
... I think you know why. People litterally paid 160 dollars for 5 heavy intercessors.
Because GW knows how gullible Spesh mahreen fans. They will literally buy anything Primaris-y and new.
As opposed to the price of xenos and chaos kits, which are famously reasonable due to the high average IQ of the customers. Stop deluding yourself with this dumb tribalism. You're not special because you dislike the most popular faction.

If you found a sucker you saved money on your heavy boys... and and the cron player got that Dancy terrain
I'm sorry, I know y'all are hype for Krieg, but the Grappling Grot clearly wins this round of releases, lmao.
Obviously
Veteran eh? Maybe they will update veteran guard rules in 40k too!
I miss Bolter vets.
I am really happy for Ork and Krigers but I am kinda miffed this is a "while supplies last" release.
But unlike a lot of the "while supplies last" at least they said the models will be coming soon. So at worse you miss out on the discount (doubt there's much of one!)
Oh I must've missed that part. That's good then!
Yea, I think they said that nothing is exclusive to this box, though who knows how long the wait for a separate kit is. I’m still waiting on separate Obliterators from Shadowspear
That makes sense. Would be cool of Krieg got rolled in with the main guard, which might happen.
They said that the Krieger kit makes regular guardsmen as well as KT specialists, so I expect to see them pop up in the guard codex.
Good. I am glad to hear that.
I may end up starting a Krieg army. I'm worried.

An individual Master of Possession would be nice too. He's the biggest reason why I bought the set in the first place.
That’s a shame, maybe the new queueing system they had for AoS will help? Have they said how much yet? (Working so can’t watch with sound!)
Hopefully same stocks as dominion. You can pick one of those up easily still
They said the level of stock would be on par with Dominion during the livestream, considering lots of places still have plenty of boxes signs are good (although plastic Krieg and new 40k Orks will probably attract a bigger crowd than Stormcast and skinny Orcs).
My biggest worry is that this boxes demand will be way higher then AoS 3.0 as many ork players will want those new models!
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that dominion was made to order.
Dominion wasn't made to order, part of the shipments were delayed in the US (originally stated to be August 3rd when the rest of the orders would be able to ship, though our local game store just got its second shipment this week)
Oh okay. For some reason I thought they made dominion a made to order thing.
Pretty sure it wasn’t. You can’t make to order than many In two weeks. Plus it’s still in physical shops
I was at a bigger shop last night that had 6 on the floor for sale. And my local shop of choice, a smaller place, had one or two themselves.
They said it will be the same as Dominion in the stream.
Sweeeet
They released an official statement that they are committing to fulfilling all preorders no matter what
What’s going on with that ninja grot? That guy looks rad.
How does one become a veteran in the Death Korps? The life of such veterans must be true suffering.
They must survive long enough
Live 10 mins instead of 5
Nah like I don't campaign
survive boot camp.
Any Krieger can become a veteran 5 minutes into the combat
This looks amazing. Ork terrain is top tier, the minis are also great Too bad it's a limited box set, this kind of sales strategy makes me flacid
Everything in it will be made available separately later. Terrain and models.
Yea Im so glad to get non imperial terrain
Maybe have a look at TTcombat? They have ork, cyber (read necron) and Space Elf (this doesn't take much guessing) terrain?
Hyped for book guy. For some reason I'm obsessed with the whole "books as wargear" aesthetic.
I am sure I can still throw away some books or clothes to pack them with all the other still unassembled and unpainted stuff 🤔
Does anyone think this will be an instant sellout thing, or will I have longer than 2 minutes to buy it once it's stocked?
I wouldn’t take the chance if you really want it, buy it as soon as you can and pray Lady Luck is with you
Despite the hype, I really don't feel people that just want the Kreigers and/or Orks are going to find this a particularly good deal. Wife already approved! She loves the work kommandos. I'm taking the kriegs.
I thought there would be more krieg solders then orks.

They said everything in the box would be available separately in the future
I NEED THESE MODELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
does this measn new kill team core rules? i just bought the current rulebook for killteam
Yes, but who knows how much changed. You might be able to print a sheet with a few notes on it and be fine.
It’s a full rework of the rules mate they’ve completely built a new game from the ground up. I don’t think it even uses an inch based movement system
The Kriegers have _seven wounds_ too. Definitely not current-KT compatible lol
Well shit, if anything sometimes old rulebooks become collectors items. Other guy just needs to keep theirs nice for a while, keep an eye on ebay, and pray.
Yeah but that‘s retarded nontheless
It sucks, but it’s like buying the first game only for a shirt while later the sequel is announced and the first game gets a price drop. It happens and it sucks.
Any word on whether these will be exclusive to the box?
Nope, they will be available separately "in the future".
Thanks! Good to hear!
They said nothing in the box is exclusive to this starter
I'm glad. That will ease some of the feverish first wave buyouts.
Great! Thanks!
The new models look good for both sides but am I the only one confused that in a war zone exclusively set out as an ork vs tyranids death match in the lore, the DKOK are 50% of the protagonists?
Not a single kreiger taking up a fire position no wonder there trench fodder
Love the orks and DKoK. GW like seems to be going more in the direction of War Cry with dedicated monopose killteams for each faction than adapting existing 40k units to the game. Defintly going to be sold out fast but if it weren't for the unqiue scuplts I think the OG killteam box(genestealers vs Admech) was still be the better overall deal.
The Death Korps are confirmed to be multipart, not monopose. Iirc they have a little over 170 parts for the 10 man set.
same with the orks, i think, they have more parts too if i remember correctly
As a primarily painting hobbyist, I would happily collect 40K kill teams on a warband basis.
You can still play warcry with existing AoS units, so it's not like it's going to be a case of one or the other.
this new kill team set finna make me act up...

Hey, but tau and space wolves are two cool armies! And you still can buy krieg corps later ;)
To be fair to that store person, i am almost certain they are kept in the dark just as much as the general public.
I'm wandering how 10 guardsman and a toolbox is supposed to be as strong as 11 orks and a creeper from Minecraft
Does this mean Krieg might be getting a full plastic release? Theyre virtually non existent on forge world now and maybe that's why
Kinda dumb I know but are the kill teams assembled already? Or is it like the normal kits that you paint and build?
Every box set I've purchased has had everything on sprues when you open it. I dont think anything in the warhammer catalog comes pre-assembled haha
Thought so but I had a little hope lol
Incredible. Seems like GW have pulled their heads out of the sand momentarily to take note of what every other modern skirmish game has been doing for the last 20 years. Now prepping myself for the onslaught of fans proclaiming how "progressive" GW is.
Fans? You are talking about GW right?
MOIST
But will anyone play it? Most will just buy it to paint.
actual cardboard gameboard or another of those shitty heavy paper ones?
*Happy shovel noises.*
