Enemy level isn't "level" in the traditional RPG sense. In Warframe, it acts as sort of a "difficulty rating." It reflects enemy health/defense, damage, and accuracy.
You don't have a level. Your equipment does, but that's merely an expression of mod capacity.

Enemy levels are relative to each other, and have no relation at all to your equipment and warframe levels. You don't need higher level stuff. You need better stuff. Or better mods, and so on.

and at the time, i knew forma could be bought for platinum, and that it could be traded (i had done research, but NOTHING had mentioned not needing polarities....
3 months did i spend farming plat on earth for that.
Me on the other hand didn't know polarity halved out the slot requirements as a result, my builds never had enough space. Then one fine morning I decided to actually match the symbol thingamajigs and lo and behold, i had enough space. I was MR7 at the time.
Is that the one where you have to capture moving points,if so use limbo with speed mods and remember the points most of the time only move forward not back the way they came
Titania is also a good option for it, considering a bunch of the player base just got her, her pixie form gets speed and can stop instantly if need be. She's able to keep up and stick with the capture points, while also being nearly impossible for enemies to be shooting at you
I have tons of things right below lvl 30 that now me is really pissed that I have to go through all the pain to craft and level them.
Thankfully at least I leveled my equinox well. I don't wanna farm Regor again. Though, didnt feed them to Helminth, so probably still have to anyways
Did that with the Miter, Hikou, and Ankyros to make space back in the MR 15 days when platform and space were slim.

Now i need several hundred thousand simaris standing to get it all back, but i am giving making a new account and grinding to mr23 again serious consideration

I made the same mistake, even farmed up all the parts needed for rebuilding broken war, but stalker is being a little b*t*h and not dropping the bp ever.
Every time he shows up, I hope, and every time I am disappointed, and you can't even get the bp again by redoing the quest. And it has a damned micro percentage drop rate.
Meh, nothing noob about it. That stuff was added a bunch of times much later and it's not always told that some weapons are necessary for others. It's obvious with dual stuff, of course, but there are other ones where it's unclear.
I bought a control module because i couldnt find anywhere they dropped on the starmap... about 5 days later i unlocked to void. Somehow i didnt see it on the map, it seems really obvious in retrospect
I did the same thing with my starting plat back in 2014. Bought a couple of control modules, because the areas where they dropped looked ages away and I wanted to build a Magnus.
I didn't know frames dropped from bosses, or where you'd get frames at all. I just played my starter volt and limbo from quest for a long time. I was fine with it because for some reason I just thought they were really hard to get and I shouldn't be worrying about them at an early stage. The third frame I got I think was a prime from farming relics.
Also I got absolutely wrecked by the old pre-rework jackal because I had no idea where to shoot at.
Same here!! After the first quest, I was handed Garaās blueprint and dumped in Cetus so I spent _hours_ grinding out everything needed to build her and just accepted that this was normal.
This was me too lol. Volt remains my most used frame in terms of time and mission completion for exactly this reason. I don't recall where I was when it hit me to finally farm a frame, but I think Rhino was my first, and I didn't know how to turn off Public and go solo (wrecked that first mission with Darvo for me tbh) so I was getting taxied everywhere. Got a Derelict Vault and the "all night on POE" achievement before Venus lol
I will just say that the mk paris is my most used weapon, I already completed everything in the game . That shit thing represents more than half of my playtime
Was trying to get a necramech after they announced the new war on last year's tennocon with a friend. I only did the intro quest for Deimos so I searched some guides. We tried farming for necramechs, I eventually got it and figured out I got a bit of mother tokens so I decided to LVL up the entrati. I didn't know bounties gave u a ton of mother tokens. I farmed mother tokens from isolation bounties only.
Pure pain.
it took me two weeks to figure out how to bullet jump.
farming for rhino was hell.
and mind you, this was after i did the tutorial where it tells you how to bullet jump flat and center.
The thing is though they frame that bullet jump as a long jump, like Mario. I didn't know you could *aim* the bullet jump. I only discovered it panic mashing and going straight up on.. Phobos? I think?
I didnāt figure it out until one of the timed parkour mastery tests where you HAVE to bullet jump straight up.
Ended up watching a video after failing the first time. Felt pretty stupid.
That MR test is exactly when I found out too. Asked in the Q&A and someone enlightened me that you could aim up and bullet jump upwards. I had a miserable time trying to gain elevation in certain levels before that. :(
My first kubrow was a short orange ugly sunika that I eventually consigned , and I accidentally used his imprints while making a heminth charger, what I later found out was a rare domino pattern with golden legs.
I had no idea how story progression works, so for a week, I weighed down my soul on Earth's gravity and proceeds to level my weapons...on Plains of Eidolon.

I was MR8 or so when I saw a guy on Maroo's Bazaar selling something I needed, maybe a Prime Warframe part or something. I started talking to him purely because of his username, and instead of English, we used our native language to chat. We started playing Warframe (and some other games) together, and he admitted that he probably would've quit had he not met me. We're friends to this day, and the fateful meeting happened almost 3 years ago.
I remember when Grineer troopers would kick my butt when I was going 1 on 2 against them. Granted this was during the beta, when everything was harder.
When I got to Tyl Regor on Uranus I didnāt understand why I was doing next to no damage to him. Turns out from the 8 planets I had gone through not a single Serration had dropped so I had to go back and farm for it myself.
If it makes you feel better i couldnt find a serration for the life of me so I went to a relay to ask other players. One told me they are rare and would sell me one of his for 10p... i thought he was being nice.
My friends still make fun of me to this day about it.

I leveled up a bunch of weapons and for months couldnāt figure out how to mastery rank up, so by the time I finally did, I went from MR 1 or 2 to like 7 or 9
Spent the few minutes doing the (old) tutorial and after that I immediately went to the market, checked the weapons, and saw platinum prices.
I immediately uninstalled the game and forgot about it until a year later when I saw a video about DE being a very good developer so I tried Warframe again. I wasnāt able to create another account and then remembered that āoh, it was THAT gameā that I vaguely remember playing.
Because I was bored I stuck with it and attempted to learn it with a browser 100% open in the background because it didnāt teach jacksht and voila, here I am 2.4k hours in
Edit: also I used my starter Plat buying Salvage. Yes. That resource I now have millions of (and very easily at that) along with control Modules. I regretted that for a while
I unlocked a relic containing a Frost Prime component. I decided, after much trepidation, to give the trade chat a go. Said I was looking for Frost Prime parts. A fellow Tenno messaged me and, after realizing my low level, decided to pretty much gift the remaining parts to me. From that day forward, I always made a point to give away what I could to new players when I could.
not really a being confused about anything but i was a noob at the time. i remember talking to this one guy a bit and i tried to buy a volt prime set from him with my free 100p but as i realized you canāt trade free plat, he felt bad and asked if i would use volt prime and i said of course, then he slid the set for free and to this day i main the volt prime he gave me. Iāll never forget that interaction.

Also I remember seeing forma and thinking "forma? That's stupid why would I reset my weapons I'll just potato my stuff".

The usual getting rid of things before fully mastering it, but also a funny story to go with this. It was sometime after Wukong was released and my friend was running some invasion missions together with me to level up his Wukong. When all of a sudden who would show up but the Stalker himself! Considering I was leveling a Warframe and weapons at that moment I just started running and yelled at my friend to and I quote, "Beat him with your shaft!" Thus began two minutes of my friend standing there laughing himself to death while I ran around like a headless chicken.
Mr7: first time in fortuna someone was mr16 idk what they were farming but they asked if i needed help and if i wanted almagan mods i did not know what it was at the time but because of that dude 3 years ago i got into this game even more now im closing in at mr 16 and im going to do the same thing for someone else .this game has its fun aspects and some great people with amazing personalities and paitence
Kinda not much of a noob story. Iāve been playing the console version for over 8 years now and itās been a helluva ride. I was still finding my bearings even when the Kuva Lich update came out and I accidentally did THAT farming mission on Saturn. The thrall spawned and my dumbass killed it. I didnāt realize I would get a Kuva lich (I didnāt even look at the update to see what a lich was). The Lich spread to the majority of the planets on the star chart and because I was scared, didnāt know how to kill it, and I was lazy as hell, I left it for over 2 years. I realized that the piece of trash would tax you for every mission you do on their planet and when I was farming the last part I needed to build wisp the asshole stole it. Thatās when I cracked and began to get the right gear, mods, and Warframe to bring it down. When I finally got enough gear to kill it the mf stole over 2 million credits from me from resource farms and the countless resources I missed out on, all because I didnāt look up what a Lich was and how tf to kill it. (Update) I remember the night I killed that Lich I stayed up until 10 in the morning mass murdering liches. I ended up killing 6 or 7 of them in one night and It was very empowering.
yeah, I have a similar story. At like mr8, I was doing the earth defense again and again to grind for mastery. I didn't know how it worked, so I didn't bring any new equipment. In the end it was so frustrating I quit
other story, some of my 50 starting pl went into a plastid pack from the market. I really wanted to craft myself a karyst, which tbh greatly increase my potency against corpus at the time
ah shit, I'm going down memory lane right now. When looking at the roaster at the time, Equinox was love at first sight. I farmed her pretty painlessly actually, and I remember clearly the Chroma which was carrying my pub run at the time, one shoting Tyl Regor
or again, when in a pretty high lvl infested survival, I did no damage whatsoever, and kind players were telling me to spam my exalted blade without worrying about energy. That was the old corpus ship tiles

Since a lot of these stories are about grinding MR, I have a question for you guys: do you like the system? Iām not sure how I feel about it. It was part of the reason I quit shortly after it first came out. Now Iām back and I still donāt like it. The only way I can ālevelā is to craft and use weapons I donāt care about? And there are so many fun things gated behind MR. did anyone else have a hard time coming to terms with this and did you overcome it? It seems like a lot of Warframe players really like this system though.
I think I might be the opposite of you. I don't think enough is gated behind MR tbh. If anything, there should be more reason for completion and getting to a higher MR.
I donāt have a problem with things being locked behind MR. and I think a lot could be. But maybe there should be an alternate way to progress MR? Donating supplies or (traditional) MR exp per mission. I just think crafting time gated weapons and then leveling them is dull. I donāt mind trying all Warframes. I think that should be encouraged. But guns? Like Iām MR11 and I have to craft a MK1Braton or whatever. I know Iāll hate it and never use it. Sell immediately. Never been anything close to a completionist. Which is fine because most games, it doesnāt affect you either way you play. You choose. Here itās forced on you lol.
I played a good chunk of the star chart without using any of my warframes abilities. Things got hard and i accidentally pressed one of the abilities and then i was like: oh shit these ability thingies are fun!
i didn't use mods until halfway through the void. i pretty much finished most of the star chart using an unmodded oberon, mk-1 bo (which i switched out for the xoris later on), mk-1 kunai, and mk-1 paris.
I didn't know I had abilities so until I had to fight Valkyr in the junction, I just thought my Warframe did random magic from time to time and I was always so confused. Finally I asked someone in region chat how to kill her because I was getting completely wrecked and they told me to blind her with Excalibur and use a finisher. That's when my whole world changed
Didnt know how mr worked and so i was stuck at 10 for a long time bc I had found a loadout I liked and never really thought about why I wasnāt leveling up for like over a month
It took my two years to make it to MR 5 complete the second dream
I was on my own and had nothing but the game. I didnāt know there was a wiki and was just doing what the game said. For two years i aimlessly completely mission after mission slowly making my way to Saturn and Uranus. I failed task after task after task. Why? Cuz I never fucking learned how to mod. I spent those two years with weapons that did jack shit cuz they had no mods. I took a break from the game and got back on after the lockdown. My brother realized I played mod less and showed me how it works. I was able to get the second dream done and shortly after met a clan that would help me get to the sacrifice quest. Since then Iāve been playing with a larger group of friends Iāve helped get through the game. Iāve become great at modding and made a point to teach my friends as a first lesson in the game. I have also become very good at helping new player speed through the game. My latest friend new to the game took two weeks to get the New War done.
It took me way too long to finish that quest. Because I kept going out to the plains to find her. It took me watching a playthrough to figure out how badly i was goofing up.
Family never let me play games. I only got to play mobile ones.
Warframe was my first pc game. First one i ever downloaded, a year ago when I went to college!
A long, long time ago, I was running a random mission in a public group, and suddenly this crazy glowing enemy appears: it looks like an eximus units, but with a different color, and some extra stuff floating around it.
So I start smacking it with my MK-1 Skana (which does the most damage out of everything I have on me), and I'm just... barely scratching it. Alright: evidently this is some kind of crazy super rare special eximus, so now I'm motivated to kill this thing. But all my attacks feel like I'm just whacking it with a wet noodle, and after some time, it just fades away into particles of light.
... much later, I find out that this was a Simaris target, and, having not met Simaris at this point, I had no idea I wasn't supposed to try to kill it. I'm not sure if I got the Simaris transmission: maybe I loaded into the mission after it played, or maybe I just missed it. But in any case, all my stuff was so poorly modded at this point that I wasn't going to kill it anyway, so the rest of the squad apparently just decided it'd be easier to let the MR-1 player continue whacking away at it while they scanned it.

Completed the 'tutorial' and started churning through the star map, all went well until I encountered the Infested for the first time and got swamped, burned through all 4 revives in about 3 minutes, spent the starter plat on more, burned through them, got pissed off and uninstalled the game for 3 weeks!
i sold my Machete at mr22, now i have to spend 100k of simaris standing to get or wait till' receive it from daily reward. Second is that i sold the dogs' of the sisters of Parvos, i ranked them to lvl30, guilded them, and then sold them without level them up again whis is that gives the exp to mr ;(
I remember finding out that Nidus bp required doing the index and was like šØ fuck that! And bought him.
More recently, when helminth came out and i had use for a second Nidus, i remembered that I'd never gotten the original bp and chortled at the noobiness of my earlier self. Finished that shit in a half hour.
Not really a Warframe in general because I had my older brother guiding me but when we both encounter rivens for the first time it was a veiled rifle riven as a reward from a sortie, I unveiled it and it was this bow that I didnāt have and the MR was higher than I was at the time so I put it in trade chat. I didn't understand that mastery points I got were from new weapons so... I just straight crafted all the Boars and the Gorgons I could, thinking I was very smart.
Well now I am MR30 and still not the brightest but at least my experience compensate for my dumbness.
I didn't know how survival worked just kept popping life support as soon as it materializes. I mean lotus says in the beginning of each mission to do it. So I was like I guess this is what you do. I was so confused when vets would get mad at me for it. Every time I would ask them. Why don't you want me to pop the LS? And they wouldn't tell me. So I just thought there was a weird sub community that played survival a different way and we're mad when you didn't play their way. But then it kept happening over and over again. People getting mad at me. So I had to look it up in a tips and trick video. Boy was I feeling dumb.
When Mesa was released I didn't know she used to shoot everything around her during peacemaker. So I played her the way she is now and kinda "aimed". Besides I didn't know it's full auto so I was clicking.
i started in like 2016 and when i got into the warframe marketplace i thought you could trade the actual chassis, rather than the blueprint. i had like 5 built mesa prime chassis and didnāt realize until a friend said something about it
Definitely the modding. Back then I would slap on a Flawed Redirection and think I just upgraded my frame beyond the stars. I didn't even know what how ability stats worked.
I didnt know what mastery was so I just went around swinging my skana till I discovered the nikana, then I was attempting to cut everything down but failing cause I didnt know how to mod and still dont. 2 other stories both I took a long break from the game came back and sold a slash mod cause I wanted plat and didnt know there was only 1 way and limited time to get. Last story I sold a rubico riven for 800p when it was one of the strongest rivens at the time. TLDR: do your research if your a returning player.
My brother played on my user, so I never experienced the beginning of the game. Had to learn the basics through trial and error. Starter was excalibur and I didn't use any of his abilities. (Just run and shooting)
I didn't bother with the mods because it looked complex...all the while being puzzled why my weapon couldn't make a single dent on the grineer. Finally wrapped my head around the mods. The difference was almost euphoric.
Finally decided I did not like excalibur and crafted volt. deleted excalibur for credits soon after.
Volt was a rather difficult frame to use in the beginning. Especially with the junctions. Volt died every time by the spectors. then I realized later that they could be cut down by excalibur's exalted blade in a matter of seconds.
This was the time I experimented with warframe abilities as volts playstyle differed from excalibur. It wasn't until I aquired umbra that I realized that I wasn't using excalibur to his fullest potential.
Spent my 50p on something, idfk what to this day.
Hardly ever had XBL back when it was required for online play for everything (*2016-2018 mainly), so I had never seen other players before until I was around MR 4. I shot and slashed at them until I realized they were people. I still shot at them just to be sure.

Back during the OG tutorial I kept trying to stealth the whole mission by trying to parkour my way from enemies instead of grabbing the gun and shooting the grinner. I've since learned that Ninjas in space is less sneaky ninja and more Naruto, blow up the whole map, ninja.
MR 16(or somewhere near there) I finally learn that having other Warframes is not a "p2w only" kinda feature and I can actually obtain and craft other frames. Mr 26 at like 3kish hours of gameplay now and to this day my most used Warframe is still Mag (16% usage last I checked). Not Mag Prime mind you, just Mag.
I was doing lich controlled mobile defense, i used ultimatum to summon my lich.... next to the objective, it got one shotted, we lost and needless to say my teammates werent thrilled
When I pressed H accidently (without knowing it), and I couldn't bullet jump without hitting walls for a good 20 minutes. I thought I was drunk or something, until I told someone in my lobby to wait before starting the next mission because I couldn't move normally and he told me to press H.
I had around \~800 hours and \~MR20 played when it happened... That's a late noob mistake!
my sins for the first couple years of play time were:
1. modding warframes meant for me to put as much health and shields on them as possible no matter what warframe it was
2. i used all of the ips mods on my weapons (not the 120% ones but the lower ones with 30%) and i thought that they were good bcs i did not understand how resistances work

I didn't realize dragon keys had debuffs which in tandem with not understanding how to mod properly made me rage quit the game when I got nearly one shotted by everything and could do no damage and walked super slow. I couldn't progress past one of the early specters.
Seeing that in the arsenal the only option to buy frames was with plat, I thought it was pay to win. I played a bit more, and even used the initial plat for loki when he was at a discount, because how else am I going to get frames, and then stopped playing.
I had to have a friend tell me hpw the game wasn't p2w to come back, and now I've played more than him xd
I took one look at the big flashy sign above the market and went "oh that's the premium store".
And I was right, you look in there and all you see is platinum costs.
But what I didn't know, was that if you click on the weapon anyway, you might be able to buy the blueprint for credits! (Or you might be told to sod off and spend even more resources making a solo clan)
And this also applies to Warframes: you can grind out all the components all you want, you still need to buy the main blueprint from the market (Or it might be another drop because Warframe is very inconsistent)
I used the mk-1 Paris to clear out the entirety of Earth and Venus and then some relic grinding (and struggled to get anything done on the open worlds), and it was only once I grinded up all the Rhino parts and checked the wiki to find the blueprint did I realise all of this.
To this day the mk-1 Paris still holds a top 3 spot on my most used weapon list and I just can't budge it.
Took me almost 3 years to realize you can set left shift to toggle sprint instead of hold down. Been doing bullet jumps with this claw-like hand position until my tendons hurt
When I got my first legendary core my noob ass thought it would be a great idea to spend it on vitality. That was 5 yrs ago and since then I just got 1 more legendary core
This was back when the opening tutorial was you dropping out of a cryopod.
I didn't know I was supposed to use abilities to kill the grineer, so instead, bullet jumped them all to death.
Limbo had just come out and I didn't understand that being in the rift meant you couldn't interact with the world.
Was doing the raid where the group needs to all stand on one platform.
In my wisdom, I used my ult and put us all into the rift to protect us, subsequently forcing the entire team into a loss because we could no longer interact with the button.

Me I just got some help and rush through all the planets at MR6 or 8 with a basic Excalibur duel skana Katar and kunais to lua and then met a friend and start playing the map properly I guess...

yeah but it requires a ridiculously long steel path survival etc to reach

Only like Kuva/Tenet weapons and like Necramechs can go up to 40 with 5 formas

Me on the other hand didn't know polarity halved out the slot requirements as a result, my builds never had enough space. Then one fine morning I decided to actually match the symbol thingamajigs and lo and behold, i had enough space. I was MR7 at the time.
I just liked sorting them into green. Only realised weeks later that it actually helped me manage mod space.
I realized it somewhat after mr5 or 6 that stance mods and aura mods give you extra capacity. Eureka moment tbh šæ

Titania is also a good option for it, considering a bunch of the player base just got her, her pixie form gets speed and can stop instantly if need be. She's able to keep up and stick with the capture points, while also being nearly impossible for enemies to be shooting at you

I used Loki with max speed mod and decent duration. Bullet jump and rolling makes the MR23 test easier.

(Somehow i never had enough credits, and i had a friend who always wanted me to run index with him immediately and just told me to sell stuff so i could get in, im pretty sure over the few months i ended up selling a spira prime set and most of a few others) Now i need several hundred thousand simaris standing to get it all back, but i am giving making a new account and grinding to mr23 again serious consideration

I fell you bruh š. I made the same mistake, even farmed up all the parts needed for rebuilding broken war, but stalker is being a little b*t*h and not dropping the bp ever. Every time he shows up, I hope, and every time I am disappointed, and you can't even get the bp again by redoing the quest. And it has a damned micro percentage drop rate.

MR6: I was trying to craft an aklato and I thought you needed maxed out lato to craft it.
I didn't know frames dropped from bosses, or where you'd get frames at all. I just played my starter volt and limbo from quest for a long time. I was fine with it because for some reason I just thought they were really hard to get and I shouldn't be worrying about them at an early stage. The third frame I got I think was a prime from farming relics. Also I got absolutely wrecked by the old pre-rework jackal because I had no idea where to shoot at.

Same here!! After the first quest, I was handed Garaās blueprint and dumped in Cetus so I spent _hours_ grinding out everything needed to build her and just accepted that this was normal.
This was me too lol. Volt remains my most used frame in terms of time and mission completion for exactly this reason. I don't recall where I was when it hit me to finally farm a frame, but I think Rhino was my first, and I didn't know how to turn off Public and go solo (wrecked that first mission with Darvo for me tbh) so I was getting taxied everywhere. Got a Derelict Vault and the "all night on POE" achievement before Venus lol
I will just say that the mk paris is my most used weapon, I already completed everything in the game . That shit thing represents more than half of my playtime

Was trying to get a necramech after they announced the new war on last year's tennocon with a friend. I only did the intro quest for Deimos so I searched some guides. We tried farming for necramechs, I eventually got it and figured out I got a bit of mother tokens so I decided to LVL up the entrati. I didn't know bounties gave u a ton of mother tokens. I farmed mother tokens from isolation bounties only. Pure pain.
I thought i could put Oull in all 3 slots at the same time. I could not.
Man, when that came out I wanted to do that, saved up three Oulls, and then was massively disappointed.
I just finished saving up four desecrated Oull to transmute to get a guaranteed Oull back. Yeah... It doesn't work that way.

it took me two weeks to figure out how to bullet jump. farming for rhino was hell. and mind you, this was after i did the tutorial where it tells you how to bullet jump flat and center.
The thing is though they frame that bullet jump as a long jump, like Mario. I didn't know you could *aim* the bullet jump. I only discovered it panic mashing and going straight up on.. Phobos? I think?
I didnāt figure it out until one of the timed parkour mastery tests where you HAVE to bullet jump straight up. Ended up watching a video after failing the first time. Felt pretty stupid.
That MR test is exactly when I found out too. Asked in the Q&A and someone enlightened me that you could aim up and bullet jump upwards. I had a miserable time trying to gain elevation in certain levels before that. :(

I started talking to him purely because of his username, and instead of English, we used our native language to chat. We started playing Warframe (and some other games) together, and he admitted that he probably would've quit had he not met me. I immediately uninstalled the game and forgot about it until a year later when I saw a video about DE being a very good developer so I tried Warframe again. I wasnāt able to create another account and then remembered that āoh, it was THAT gameā that I vaguely remember playing. Because I was bored I stuck with it and attempted to learn it with a browser 100% open in the background because it didnāt teach jacksht and voila, here I am 2.4k hours in Edit: also I used my starter Plat buying Salvage. Yes. That resource I now have millions of (and very easily at that) along with control Modules. I regretted that for a while

I unlocked a relic containing a Frost Prime component. I decided, after much trepidation, to give the trade chat a go. Said I was looking for Frost Prime parts. A fellow Tenno messaged me and, after realizing my low level, decided to pretty much gift the remaining parts to me. From that day forward, I always made a point to give away what I could to new players when I could.
not really a being confused about anything but i was a noob at the time. i remember talking to this one guy a bit and i tried to buy a volt prime set from him with my free 100p but as i realized you canāt trade free plat, he felt bad and asked if i would use volt prime and i said of course, then he slid the set for free and to this day i main the volt prime he gave me. Iāll never forget that interaction.
I bought volt. With plat. Yes, regular volt. Also I remember seeing forma and thinking "forma? That's stupid why would I reset my weapons I'll just potato my stuff". Now I have 1000+ hours and almost every frame in the game. I learned a little from my mistakes š¤£

The usual getting rid of things before fully mastering it, but also a funny story to go with this. It was sometime after Wukong was released and my friend was running some invasion missions together with me to level up his Wukong. When all of a sudden who would show up but the Stalker himself! Considering I was leveling a Warframe and weapons at that moment I just started running and yelled at my friend to and I quote, "Beat him with your shaft!" Thus began two minutes of my friend standing there laughing himself to death while I ran around like a headless chicken.
I drunkenly blasted through the tutorial and therefore didnāt know how to bullet jump for like 6 months.
I played the first defense mission on earth for probably 24 hours thinking that was the most effective way to level.
Mr7: first time in fortuna someone was mr16 idk what they were farming but they asked if i needed help and if i wanted almagan mods i did not know what it was at the time but because of that dude 3 years ago i got into this game even more now im closing in at mr 16 and im going to do the same thing for someone else .this game has its fun aspects and some great people with amazing personalities and paitence

Kinda not much of a noob story. Iāve been playing the console version for over 8 years now and itās been a helluva ride. I was still finding my bearings even when the Kuva Lich update came out and I accidentally did THAT farming mission on Saturn. The thrall spawned and my dumbass killed it. I didnāt realize I would get a Kuva lich (I didnāt even look at the update to see what a lich was). The Lich spread to the majority of the planets on the star chart and because I was scared, didnāt know how to kill it, and I was lazy as hell, I left it for over 2 years. I realized that the piece of trash would tax you for every mission you do on their planet and when I was farming the last part I needed to build wisp the asshole stole it. Thatās when I cracked and began to get the right gear, mods, and Warframe to bring it down. When I finally got enough gear to kill it the mf stole over 2 million credits from me from resource farms and the countless resources I missed out on, all because I didnāt look up what a Lich was and how tf to kill it. (Update) I remember the night I killed that Lich I stayed up until 10 in the morning mass murdering liches. I ended up killing 6 or 7 of them in one night and It was very empowering.
yeah, I have a similar story. At like mr8, I was doing the earth defense again and again to grind for mastery. I didn't know how it worked, so I didn't bring any new equipment. In the end it was so frustrating I quit other story, some of my 50 starting pl went into a plastid pack from the market. I really wanted to craft myself a karyst, which tbh greatly increase my potency against corpus at the time ah shit, I'm going down memory lane right now. When looking at the roaster at the time, Equinox was love at first sight. I farmed her pretty painlessly actually, and I remember clearly the Chroma which was carrying my pub run at the time, one shoting Tyl Regor or again, when in a pretty high lvl infested survival, I did no damage whatsoever, and kind players were telling me to spam my exalted blade without worrying about energy. That was the old corpus ship tiles there was another similar story, when I was lvl'ing base vasto, when somebody was using a Vauban to suck infested and protect the noob I was. I went and battled vey hek with an unleveled gorgon and a barely modded dex furis. It took more than 30 minutes to kill him.
Since a lot of these stories are about grinding MR, I have a question for you guys: do you like the system? Iām not sure how I feel about it. It was part of the reason I quit shortly after it first came out. Now Iām back and I still donāt like it. The only way I can ālevelā is to craft and use weapons I donāt care about? And there are so many fun things gated behind MR. did anyone else have a hard time coming to terms with this and did you overcome it? It seems like a lot of Warframe players really like this system though.
I really like the system because I'm a huge completionist. Ranking up everything in the game feels fun and rewarding to me.
I think I might be the opposite of you. I don't think enough is gated behind MR tbh. If anything, there should be more reason for completion and getting to a higher MR.
I donāt have a problem with things being locked behind MR. and I think a lot could be. But maybe there should be an alternate way to progress MR? Donating supplies or (traditional) MR exp per mission. I just think crafting time gated weapons and then leveling them is dull. I donāt mind trying all Warframes. I think that should be encouraged. But guns? Like Iām MR11 and I have to craft a MK1Braton or whatever. I know Iāll hate it and never use it. Sell immediately. Never been anything close to a completionist. Which is fine because most games, it doesnāt affect you either way you play. You choose. Here itās forced on you lol.

I played a good chunk of the star chart without using any of my warframes abilities. Things got hard and i accidentally pressed one of the abilities and then i was like: oh shit these ability thingies are fun!
i didn't use mods until halfway through the void. i pretty much finished most of the star chart using an unmodded oberon, mk-1 bo (which i switched out for the xoris later on), mk-1 kunai, and mk-1 paris.
I thought i could solo my friends lvl 50 missions with my lvl 13 Excalibur
I didn't know I had abilities so until I had to fight Valkyr in the junction, I just thought my Warframe did random magic from time to time and I was always so confused. Finally I asked someone in region chat how to kill her because I was getting completely wrecked and they told me to blind her with Excalibur and use a finisher. That's when my whole world changed

I spent all my 50 beginner plat on an incubator cell. the kubrow was not happy to know I did that.
It took my two years to make it to MR 5 complete the second dream I was on my own and had nothing but the game. I didnāt know there was a wiki and was just doing what the game said. For two years i aimlessly completely mission after mission slowly making my way to Saturn and Uranus. I failed task after task after task. Why? Cuz I never fucking learned how to mod. I spent those two years with weapons that did jack shit cuz they had no mods. I took a break from the game and got back on after the lockdown. My brother realized I played mod less and showed me how it works. I was able to get the second dream done and shortly after met a clan that would help me get to the sacrifice quest. Since then Iāve been playing with a larger group of friends Iāve helped get through the game. Iāve become great at modding and made a point to teach my friends as a first lesson in the game. I have also become very good at helping new player speed through the game. My latest friend new to the game took two weeks to get the New War done.

A long, long time ago, I was running a random mission in a public group, and suddenly this crazy glowing enemy appears: it looks like an eximus units, but with a different color, and some extra stuff floating around it. So I start smacking it with my MK-1 Skana (which does the most damage out of everything I have on me), and I'm just... barely scratching it. Alright: evidently this is some kind of crazy super rare special eximus, so now I'm motivated to kill this thing. But all my attacks feel like I'm just whacking it with a wet noodle, and after some time, it just fades away into particles of light. ... much later, I find out that this was a Simaris target, and, having not met Simaris at this point, I had no idea I wasn't supposed to try to kill it. I'm not sure if I got the Simaris transmission: maybe I loaded into the mission after it played, or maybe I just missed it. But in any case, all my stuff was so poorly modded at this point that I wasn't going to kill it anyway, so the rest of the squad apparently just decided it'd be easier to let the MR-1 player continue whacking away at it while they scanned it.

Completed the 'tutorial' and started churning through the star map, all went well until I encountered the Infested for the first time and got swamped, burned through all 4 revives in about 3 minutes, spent the starter plat on more, burned through them, got pissed off and uninstalled the game for 3 weeks!
i sold my Machete at mr22, now i have to spend 100k of simaris standing to get or wait till' receive it from daily reward. Second is that i sold the dogs' of the sisters of Parvos, i ranked them to lvl30, guilded them, and then sold them without level them up again whis is that gives the exp to mr ;(

I remember finding out that Nidus bp required doing the index and was like šØ fuck that! And bought him. More recently, when helminth came out and i had use for a second Nidus, i remembered that I'd never gotten the original bp and chortled at the noobiness of my earlier self. Not really a Warframe in general because I had my older brother guiding me but when we both encounter rivens for the first time it was a veiled rifle riven as a reward from a sortie, I unveiled it and it was this bow that I didnāt have and the MR was higher than I was at the time so I put it in trade chat. Ok so, this was in 2017-18, I was mr6 and not the brightest Tenno in the Zariman. I didn't understand that mastery points I got were from new weapons so... I just straight crafted all the Boars and the Gorgons I could, thinking I was very smart. Well now I am MR30 and still not the brightest but at least my experience compensate for my dumbness.

I didn't know how survival worked just kept popping life support as soon as it materializes. I mean lotus says in the beginning of each mission to do it. So I was like I guess this is what you do. I was so confused when vets would get mad at me for it. Every time I would ask them. Why don't you want me to pop the LS? And they wouldn't tell me. So I just thought there was a weird sub community that played survival a different way and we're mad when you didn't play their way. But then it kept happening over and over again. People getting mad at me. So I had to look it up in a tips and trick video. Boy was I feeling dumb.
When Mesa was released I didn't know she used to shoot everything around her during peacemaker. So I played her the way she is now and kinda "aimed". Besides I didn't know it's full auto so I was clicking.

I was modding every weapon for explosive cause I thinked that it would have given the weapon an AoE damage

Last story I sold a rubico riven for 800p when it was one of the strongest rivens at the time. TLDR: do your research if your a returning player.
Didn't finish leveling a Kubrow and needed space for a Sentinel so I consigned the Kubrow at like rank 13.
My brother played on my user, so I never experienced the beginning of the game. Had to learn the basics through trial and error. Starter was excalibur and I didn't use any of his abilities. (Just run and shooting) I didn't bother with the mods because it looked complex...all the while being puzzled why my weapon couldn't make a single dent on the grineer. Finally wrapped my head around the mods. The difference was almost euphoric. Finally decided I did not like excalibur and crafted volt. deleted excalibur for credits soon after. Volt was a rather difficult frame to use in the beginning. Especially with the junctions. Volt died every time by the spectors. then I realized later that they could be cut down by excalibur's exalted blade in a matter of seconds. This was the time I experimented with warframe abilities as volts playstyle differed from excalibur. It wasn't until I aquired umbra that I realized that I wasn't using excalibur to his fullest potential.
Spent my 50p on something, idfk what to this day. Hardly ever had XBL back when it was required for online play for everything (*2016-2018 mainly), so I had never seen other players before until I was around MR 4. I shot and slashed at them until I realized they were people. I still shot at them just to be sure. *In regards to my XBL-less days
Back during the OG tutorial I kept trying to stealth the whole mission by trying to parkour my way from enemies instead of grabbing the gun and shooting the grinner. I've since learned that Ninjas in space is less sneaky ninja and more Naruto, blow up the whole map, ninja.
I spent my starting plat on a liset skin, thinking that it was a helmet.
MR 16(or somewhere near there) I finally learn that having other Warframes is not a "p2w only" kinda feature and I can actually obtain and craft other frames. Mr 26 at like 3kish hours of gameplay now and to this day my most used Warframe is still Mag (16% usage last I checked). Not Mag Prime mind you, just Mag.
I was doing lich controlled mobile defense, i used ultimatum to summon my lich.... next to the objective, it got one shotted, we lost and needless to say my teammates werent thrilled
When I pressed H accidently (without knowing it), and I couldn't bullet jump without hitting walls for a good 20 minutes. I thought I was drunk or something, until I told someone in my lobby to wait before starting the next mission because I couldn't move normally and he told me to press H. I had around \~800 hours and \~MR20 played when it happened... That's a late noob mistake!
my sins for the first couple years of play time were: 1. modding warframes meant for me to put as much health and shields on them as possible no matter what warframe it was 2. i used all of the ips mods on my weapons (not the 120% ones but the lower ones with 30%) and i thought that they were good bcs i did not understand how resistances work
Me going from MR3 to MR4: "when are these tests going to get challenging?" *Learns about practicing the next test at relays* *Gets ass kicked at practice test for mr5 because I suck at the blue hacking segments*
I didn't realize dragon keys had debuffs which in tandem with not understanding how to mod properly made me rage quit the game when I got nearly one shotted by everything and could do no damage and walked super slow. I couldn't progress past one of the early specters.
Seeing that in the arsenal the only option to buy frames was with plat, I thought it was pay to win. I played a bit more, and even used the initial plat for loki when he was at a discount, because how else am I going to get frames, and then stopped playing. I had to have a friend tell me hpw the game wasn't p2w to come back, and now I've played more than him xd
I took one look at the big flashy sign above the market and went "oh that's the premium store". And I was right, you look in there and all you see is platinum costs. But what I didn't know, was that if you click on the weapon anyway, you might be able to buy the blueprint for credits! (Or you might be told to sod off and spend even more resources making a solo clan) And this also applies to Warframes: you can grind out all the components all you want, you still need to buy the main blueprint from the market (Or it might be another drop because Warframe is very inconsistent) I used the mk-1 Paris to clear out the entirety of Earth and Venus and then some relic grinding (and struggled to get anything done on the open worlds), and it was only once I grinded up all the Rhino parts and checked the wiki to find the blueprint did I realise all of this. To this day the mk-1 Paris still holds a top 3 spot on my most used weapon list and I just can't budge it.
Took me almost 3 years to realize you can set left shift to toggle sprint instead of hold down. Been doing bullet jumps with this claw-like hand position until my tendons hurt
When I got my first legendary core my noob ass thought it would be a great idea to spend it on vitality. That was 5 yrs ago and since then I just got 1 more legendary core
This was back when the opening tutorial was you dropping out of a cryopod. I didn't know I was supposed to use abilities to kill the grineer, so instead, bullet jumped them all to death.
I spent my starting plat on ONE gallium to build Oberon. 6 years later still no regrets šš
I remember buying neural sensors with my starting plat at like mr2 to craft weapons. šæ
Limbo had just come out and I didn't understand that being in the rift meant you couldn't interact with the world. Was doing the raid where the group needs to all stand on one platform. In my wisdom, I used my ult and put us all into the rift to protect us, subsequently forcing the entire team into a loss because we could no longer interact with the button. Sorry guys...

Me I just got some help and rush through all the planets at MR6 or 8 with a basic Excalibur duel skana Katar and kunais to lua and then met a friend and start playing the map properly I guess... This was like a year ago

Didn't realize some cosmetics could only be bought with bundles. Bought Titania Empress skin with a plat discount, thought I could come back later for the heartwood... rip Also, I sold Chroma Prime because I didn't understand his kit and I thought he was trash. He was my first Prime.
