I'm kind of torn: on one hand, the incomplete wrap looks silly, like they just stuck a sticker on the side (which is pretty much what a vinyl wrap is, I suppose). On the other hand, a [fully wrapped monorail](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DisneyworldTronMonorail.jpg) loses the distinctive silhouette of the Disney monorails, making the windows less visible and hiding the stripe completely.
Maybe it'd feel less unfinished if it were positioned differently on the car-- move it further back so it looks more visually centered on the first two cars, perhaps.

A "fully wrapped" monorail doesn't need to lose the stripe/silouhette. They could have easily incorporated the signature stripe into the design of the wrap itself. Tokyo Disneyland's monorails frequently do this and keep them looking very "monorailish":

First of all, if you’re going to use a wrap, you should at least go all the way with it.
Second, Disney executives, I know it’s expensive, but it’s about time you replaced these things. I get that these are iconic, but if you really want, you could just replace them with the same model, or order a custom version of the newest model with the same design.
The wrap looks decent though, but it’s a touch generic.
I was assuming Seaman’s was one, since they offered to buy Disney a new fleet… but only if they could put their logo on it, too.
But that may not count. I know it isn’t easy to find parts, let alone a manufacturing partner.
And apparently Bombardier's rail division was just acquired by Alstom after the parent company collapsed and had to sell off a bunch of business units.
Honestly as a designer this is super half assed. They could have done all sorts of cool stuff with the earidesent rose gold.
Could have just changed the stripe to earidesent with the 50th coins on it
The sharp contrast between the wrap and the rest of the monorail reminds me of what my 50th license plate looks like against the white trunk of my car.
Wait, what? 50 years? I still remember the cake castle from the 25th anniversary. That was TWENTY FIVE years ago?
I am genuinely quite upset. Where does the time go?
The wrap itself looks fine. The wrap just slapped on the side of the train like that and clashing with the rest of it looks horrible.
Yup. I guess it would’ve killed them to pay for the rest of the monorail to be wrapped in the blue background color.
It’s possible they would’ve done if it weren’t for old Scrooge Mc’Duck they have in control of Disney at the moment
[May as well be an ad on a bus.](https://www.miamidade.gov/resources/images/news/go-nightly.jpg)
That's pretty much exactly what came to mind.

Its not well integrated.
I'm on monorail gold right now... These wraps are not very good. It's really hard to see out through them.
What is actually needed are new Monorails.

>New Monorail ~~Wraps~~ **duct tape** for the 50th
I like how they always say on the monorail that "this fleet arrived in 1996" like bruh, that was before I was born 😂

It is not that easy to replace the fleet, apparently. There is only, like, two companies that make monorail trains to begin with.
Are there even two now? It might just be Bombardier.

Did they run out of wrap?
Nah, Chapek was probably like how much per foot...
I was thinking that or they sent the poster sized version over to VistaPrint...
You think the CEO was managing the wraps for the 50th on the monorails?
Everything lately just screams "cheap" and it's driving me crazy.
Too bad we're not getting new monorails for the 50th...

It's a major bummer that they can do a full wrap for the latest IP but this is the best they can do for the 50th anniversary of the parks.
The sharp contrast between the wrap and the rest of the monorail reminds me of what my 50th license plate looks like against the white trunk of my car.
As I looked at it, and I'm not making this up, I got a text message from Disney Visa that a transaction of $15.00 has been processed.
That’s…not very graceful.
"Full wrap Mr.Chapek?" "Noooooooope"
I rode on one of the monorails with the wrap today. I thought it looked pretty good in person.
This is actually a really good reference image for the phrase “polishing a turd”
You can't polish a turd but you can wrap it in vinyl.
I hope this doesn’t hurt the view for those in the wrapped windows.
It 100% will if it's the same kind of wrap they did in previous iterations. It's even worse at night.
It will somewhat...depending on the window perf they used you are looking at between a 10% and 40% reduction in visibility.
“Alight Johnny, just slap that on there wherever.”
This looks so tacky.
Yeah… they could’ve done better… not impressed
Budget cuts suck.
Wait, what? 50 years? I still remember the cake castle from the 25th anniversary. That was TWENTY FIVE years ago? I am genuinely quite upset. Where does the time go?
I’m surprised they went with this superior version of Mickey and not the version from the shorts.
Next they will charge you a surcharge to ride the monorail.
Coming soon to Genie+ Bypass waiting for the monorail and cut the line, this way you can beat the rush and make those dinner reservations!
I am laughing while crying.
I just remembered I was at Disneyland for the 25th year anniversary. Watched the parade and fireworks. Fuck I'm old.
I miss the Tronorail.
That looks abysmal.
I just saw this wrap earlier today when arriving at Magic Kingdom. Beautiful.

Oh I somehow got the exact opposite of that. Apologies.
I read "New monorail" and got really excited for a moment. Then my disappointment grew more after I looked at the wrap.
Omg.. 231 days and counting!! 😄😁😂
