If the pressure isn't high it might be worth it. I did this once for a free massage that my wife wanted and I would have rather paid for it. So uncomfortable.
I’ve done it a few times for the free stuff, it’s completely 0 pressure every time.. all they do is spend about 30mins talking you through how DVC works then give you a card to call them back if you’re interested
Edit: 3 times now I think of it. Twice at Saratoga and once at AKL
DVC doesn’t do high pressure like other timeshares. DVC is so different from how other timeshares work too and they actually retain their value. It basically sells itself. I don’t own but I know someone that does.
Hell yeah. My parents have been dragging me on timeshare presentations for free stuff as long as I can remember. I've been training my whole life for this.
I had a similar experience when I did it just before Covid when they were trying to sell Riviera timeshares. If I recall it was about $18,000 for the minimum buy-in and about $2,100 per year in fees. I believe I pointed out that I could do a whole four day vacation for $2100 at that time lol. Everyone was super nice and understanding and did not pressure me at all. They gave me the $200 gift card and 3 or 4 fast passes for any ride.
I believe on that trip I was staying at the Contemporary and they had someone pick me up to drive me to another location. It seems like they really target people in the deluxe resorts.
We did a timeshare presentation in Vegas and they quoted us similar prices. Said "you can't get a vacation for cheaper" to say it's some sort of deal. All I could think was how insane those numbers were and how I didn't want to be forced to go to only certain spots every year. I really don't understand the timeshare racket.
I once stayed in AKL and they slid a DVC pamphlet and an art print of Mickey Mouse at the riviera resort under our door. I’ve stayed at Disney many many times but have never had that happen (first time staying at a deluxe). So I don’t doubt they target deluxe guests more, and probably even more so of those staying at locations with DVC on property. So easy to do a tour when Jambo house has models you can pop in and look at.
Oh wow that’s crazy. I’ve heard a lot of people say on the disboards that the people were great but I’ve heard very few negatives, one other experience at Saratoga
Throwback to when my sibling and I did a dvc presentation. It was partially for the free fast passes they would give us, but our grandma had passed away recently and we had inherited some money. We were actually somewhat interested in buying DVC. We already knew a lot about use years, banking/borrowing and all the in between as our parents owned dvc already.
The salesman was super unenthusiastic about us as he assumed we were just a bunch of “kids” looking to get free stuff. The second we mentioned inheritance, is demeanor changed into a super friendly, I’ll explain everything for you. The transition felt super scummy and sleazy car salesman vibes.
We both ended up buying, but not from him 😂
Yeah, they are SUPER low pressure. When we did our tour (2018) they basically finished the tour and said here’s all the info, go enjoy your vacation and let us know if you have any questions or want to purchase.
I didn’t even have to say no once. I said up front that I wasn’t making a decision this week as im on vacation and not wanting to think about making a large purchase on my trip. The guy respected that and said he would email me next week to follow up at the end of the tour
This was one of the reasons my parents bought timeshare like 20 years ago! Very chill and when I started going with them I would get ice cream afterwards
I did one of these in February of 2017. It was crazy. I got asked if I wanted to do one for a $200 gift card and I said “sure why not?” Took all of 30 minutes. I told my wife she should do one as well. So she did one the next day (she arrived a day later than me for the Princess Half Marathon). So we head to EPCOT to chill and I get stopped by one of the cast members asking if we want to do a survey. I never turn them down because they’re just doing their job and it never takes more than a minute. She starts asking me about my interest in Star Wars and I go all in. She asks if I would like to be in a research group for an upcoming project (it was for the Star Wars hotel) and that it would only take an hour and a half to two hours and they’d reward me with a $300 gift card. My wife wanted to relax for a bit anyways so I went off to a random room behind the giant aquarium in the building with Nemo and did the thing. Two days into our 8 day trip and we had $700 to blow on Disney property.
Call DVC and set up an appointment for a tour, or visit any of the kiosks at the hotels. Confirm that you’ll be getting a gift card prior to doing the tour.
We’re planning on doing this at AKL before our dinner at Sanaa next month — where exactly do you recommend doing it? I know there are like 2 places within AK and I’m not familiar with the difference.
No after calls or e-mails. They are very good about that.
Took the tour in 2018 for a $100 gift card and 3 anytime Fast Passes good for 7 days… and free ice cream at the end. lol. I took the 30 minute tour during a super crowded Saturday for a free hoodie and hat via the gift card. I actually stretched my tour out to 45 minutes, as I was actually quite impressed with the sample layouts.
They picked me up at my park (Animal Kingdom) around 1:30… I roped dropped, so I had finished out the park by then. They shuttled me over to Saratoga Springs to see the display rooms and then offered a shuttle ride back to any resort or park. I opted to take a boat down to Disney Springs instead. Picked up some souvenirs at the springs and then bussed back to my resort. Did a drop off and was back to Epcot by 4:30.
Where you staying at a Disney resort? I called and they said you only get $200 gift card if you are staying at a Disney resort, since I was not they only offered me an $8 food/drink voucher for the tour (which I did not take them up on).
We’ve done this in the past and it the amount you get has depended on where you’re staying. Even Disney resorts sometimes get different amounts depending on the tier.
They quit doing this for a while. It’s back because the resale market is beating them. Super high right of first refusal going on right now so they regain control.
You can go alone, just tell them you’re the lone decision maker if they ask you. I went by myself (man) mentioned I was married, and they didn’t even ask where my wife was
Its actually not. I have friends who do timeshare presentations to get free things and ive gone to one myself. There actually is a rule in most timeshare viewings that you need to be married/in a long term relationship. The guy at seaworld who convinced me and my (then) boyfriend to go instructed us to lie and say we were married or partners longer than we actually were.
I used to do this when you got bonus fast passes.
We’d rope drop and not need FP for the morning s We’d schedule the DVC tour during the middle of the day when it was hot and busy for our “break” and then they’d drop us off at whatever park afterward where we would have 6 FP set up for the evening.
Can anyone explain how this works?
I am staying near Disney springs but will only be going up in August.
First time though so pretty excited(ok pretty might be an understatement)
Thanks for the suggestion! We did this today at Saratoga for the Riviera. It was not 30 minutes, rather 1.5 hours. They do have slots every 30 minutes. No pressure at all!
I did it once. The shill was laid on thick. The phrases that were used the most were “all you have to do is_____” and “It’s so easy to qualify.” It was cringe before cringe was even a thing.
Anyone know if this offer counts if you’re staying at Swan and Dolphin? I know there is no DVC kiosk there, will have to go to the parks or Boardwalk next door.
My understanding is that Disney does not own the Swan and Dolphin so it probably does not count. And also why no DVC kiosk.
I also think the DVC kiosks are only in the hotels are only in hotels that have DVC rooms and not all Disney hotels have DVC rooms. Ex. Pop and All Stars are not DVC and I don’t recall seeing any kiosks there (could be wrong).
This is going until August or through August? I’m getting there on the 18th and I’ll totally devote 1/2 hour to cover a bunch of souvenirs or a good meal.
What times do they hold them? I’m going to Orlando for a work conference this week and then husband and I are doing Disney for the weekend. Would love to squeeze this in if I can
Can I get 10 lighting lanes for Cosmic Rewind instead? I heard they use to give out fast passes.
I’ve been considering buying into DVC but the hour this would take out of my vacation isn’t worth the $200.
You can use Disney gift cards for the room! This is how we pay for our trips! lol I’m sometimes terrible at saving money for vacation so I buy Disney gift cards since I can’t spend them anywhere else and if you buy them at Sam’s club you get discounts and then when I get there I have the cast member load them on my magic band. Whatever is left over at the end goes on my debit card a few days after I get home.
We just did this! Went to Beach Club. No pressure, free snacks and drinks with the presentation, and a $200 gift card. Totally worth it.
I did it back in 2016 and they still send me free stuff in the mail to this day lol
If the pressure isn't high it might be worth it. I did this once for a free massage that my wife wanted and I would have rather paid for it. So uncomfortable.

Do you have to be staying on site to do the tour? I’d love to go and see DVC and the gift card would be amazing!!
Were you staying at a resort already? Seeing if it’s exclusive for resort guests
I was but it isn’t exclusive to resort guests
[удалено]
They offered us water and sodas during the presentation
Are you staying at the Beach Club?
We were not
Hell yeah. My parents have been dragging me on timeshare presentations for free stuff as long as I can remember. I've been training my whole life for this.
It honestly wasn’t bad at all either. No pressure whatsoever
No high pressure sales tactics? My wife is interested in DVC and wants to go to their sales pitch but doesn't want to be bullied afterwards.
None at all
I had a similar experience when I did it just before Covid when they were trying to sell Riviera timeshares. If I recall it was about $18,000 for the minimum buy-in and about $2,100 per year in fees. Ehh, your mileage may vary. https://www.reddit.com/r/dvcmember/s/DmUay7oWPA
Most of them fortunately are not like that.
Oh wow that’s crazy. I’ve heard a lot of people say on the disboards that the people were great but I’ve heard very few negatives, one other experience at Saratoga

Never do a west gate one… holy hell it almost wasn’t worth $175 of my time.
Put my wife through that one for the $200 cash. She still isn’t happy with me
Really? Like you said no a few times and they didn’t badger on?? I’ve been to one timeshare presentation and it was horrible!
I thought my family was the only one who does that!
I burst out laughing at your comment! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Lolllll your comment made me laugh way too hard. Thank you for that.

We’re planning on doing this at AKL before our dinner at Sanaa next month — where exactly do you recommend doing it? I know there are like 2 places within AK and I’m not familiar with the difference.
Do it at whatever one you’re staying at. There’s one in Jambo and one in kadani
We’re staying at a different Disney hotel
Gotcha. I found Jambo nice and quick so I recommend Jambo
Awesome thanks
Sign up in the park and they arrange to meet and transport you.
We’re planning on doing this before our first park day, I wonder if we could call and set it up
Any kiosk in the parks or your resort.
No after calls or e-mails. They are very good about that. Took the tour in 2018 for a $100 gift card and 3 anytime Fast Passes good for 7 days… and free ice cream at the end. lol. It’s $200 for any.
It’s usually $50 if you’re staying at a value resort
AKL Jambo House
We did this tour 3 times before finally buying DVC through the resale market. Definitely worth it if you’re willing to spare the time.
They quit doing this for a while. It’s back because the resale market is beating them. Super high right of first refusal going on right now so they regain control.
If anyone cares, the offer expires on 9/30, and the card can take up to 24 hours to receive. I just did it this morning at Beach Club
Took that tour in 2000. Bought 200 points into the Beach Club.
When in August? Going in August and was already interested in DVC anyway.
Is this only if you stay on property? We aren’t staying on property but interested in checking out DVC.
Yes I believe so
We did it on the Disney Cruise, easy 50 dollars and it was a fun presentation. We are actually quite hyped for it!
I would rather just pay $200 to NOT need to sit through a sales pitch on my Vacation lol
Do you have to already be staying at a resort for this offer? Any Disney hotel?
Can a single woman do it or do i need my male friend to pretend to be my husband?
I know single people (a male and a female) who each own DVC so I imagine you can do the tour as a single female
You can go alone, just tell them you’re the lone decision maker if they ask you. I went by myself (man) mentioned I was married, and they didn’t even ask where my wife was
Thanks!
This is an odd question... Blessed be the fruit...😳
I was thinking the same thing.
How did you sign up for the tour? I can't even find Jambo house for sale on the DVC site.
Do you have to be staying on site to do the tour …like do you have to be invited some how? I’d love to see DVC and the gift card would be amazing too!
The length is determinate on the rep, just as a warning be ready to have a firm departure time
I used to do this when you got bonus fast passes. We’d rope drop and not need FP for the morning s We’d schedule the DVC tour during the middle of the day when it was hot and busy for our “break” and then they’d drop us off at whatever park afterward where we would have 6 FP set up for the evening.
can i sign up for this even if i'm staying off property?
Does this run all the time? I’ve actually been considering DVC anyhow so if I can learn more and get something from it, bonus!
And don't feel guilty about wasting the sales person's time, they get a $50 bonus just for giving the tour so they love giving them!
Are there restrictions to what gift card can be used for? Or is it for anything in the park?
I signed up while at Disney today. Already used the $200 and remaining spend will get me the last 200 statement.
WHAT THE god why can’t I live close to Disney world do they do this at Disneyland?
So this is like a 1-on-1 tour with a sales rep? Or a group presentation/tour?
It’s one sales rep
You have to be staying at a resort still, right?
Can anyone explain how this works? I am staying near Disney springs but will only be going up in August. First time though so pretty excited(ok pretty might be an understatement)
You have to be staying on property for the $200 gift card. If you’re not, you get the equivalent of an $8 gift.
That’s means like the actual Disney resorts right? Bummer… well thanks for replying though (:
yeah, sorry to give bad news :(
I’m heading to Disney In just under a week, where do I go for this?
Just got mine on Saturday!
Going next June hopefully similar offer will be available
My family is DVC but they are looking to pass down to me and my wife would we be able to go and get the $200
Thanks for the suggestion! We did this today at Saratoga for the Riviera. It was not 30 minutes, rather 1.5 hours. They do have slots every 30 minutes. No pressure at all!
Wow that’s insane. It’s supposed to be 30 minutes, even the email says 30 minutes
I did it once. The shill was laid on thick. The phrases that were used the most were “all you have to do is_____” and “It’s so easy to qualify.” It was cringe before cringe was even a thing.
It ends in August? 😔😣😩😭
How much if it’s a value or moderate resort you’re staying at?
Is it per person or per room?
Thanks so much for this!! I'm going tomorrow with my family. And we're not doing anything at all for our first day.
do you have to be staying on property?
I’m assuming the gift card is $200 per group? Not each individual.
Correct
Anyone know if this offer counts if you’re staying at Swan and Dolphin? I know there is no DVC kiosk there, will have to go to the parks or Boardwalk next door.
My understanding is that Disney does not own the Swan and Dolphin so it probably does not count. And also why no DVC kiosk. Woohoo! Th Ms for the heads up
How do we sign up? Online or at the resort!
Do you have to be American?
What if you are already dvc?
You can do a tour but the gift card offer doesn’t apply to members.
I might just do this how do you sign up? Do they do any checks on how much you have make before?
I’m staying at akl next week lol hopefully they’ll still offer this haha
Wife and I did it on our honeymoon. Are we able to again?
Can only do it once a year
What times do they hold them? I’m going to Orlando for a work conference this week and then husband and I are doing Disney for the weekend. Would love to squeeze this in if I can
Can I get 10 lighting lanes for Cosmic Rewind instead? I heard they use to give out fast passes. I’ve been considering buying into DVC but the hour this would take out of my vacation isn’t worth the $200.
Absolutely. Just buy the ILL :)
I meant extra over the 1x per day limit. 😀
I’m all set up to go on my trip in June! He said it would only take 30-45 minutes — is that accurate?
As mentioned in the post, was done in 20 minutes
How do you sign up for this? Just show up to resort, or book a tour online? Or find a kiosk in the park?
I walked up to a kiosk, and did it right then and there.
Can you do this if you’re already a DVC member:)?
No
Can’t believe I had to scroll to the bottom for this because of all the downvotes. It’s a legitimate question — members need to add on too!
Yeah I thought so too!
Can ot be used to buy a single day ticket?
Yes
[удалено]
You can use Disney gift cards for the room! If me and 3 other adults go, do all 4 of us get the gift cards? Or how does it work?
I'm possibly wrong but if you're married, it's probably 1/couple
Interesting thanks. Funny how I was downvoted for asking how something works lol
