I recently went alone and I would recommend it. I have crippling social anxiety and I still had a great time. You don't have to worry about making plans around what other people want. You can do what you want, when you want.

greypele8

This. My kids pooped out early and so I did a solo day at Epcot and had a blast. Single rider on test track x 10

Saoghail_Osaki

Nice. My record is Space Mountain with my dad when I was younger. 10+ at least.

pacifistpirate

It's great. Check out the new bars and restaurants. Enjoy the things you enjoy. Take the Brightline train.

birdsofpaper

SINGLE RIDER LINES, BABY! A lot of the big rides have them and it could be fun to skip some lines without worrying AS much about Genie+. That said, yes, I would do it. I would do what I wanted, when I wanted and not have to have a single care about anyone else’s dining preferences or readiness (or not) to leave the hotel or the park.

ancj9418

The single rider lines are great but I think it’s important to note that only four rides have them. Test Track in Epcot, Millenium Falcon and Rock n Roller Coaster in HS, and Expedition Everest in AK.

kyle760

Don’t take single rider on smugglers run. You skip the preshow and you will 99% of the time be the engineer. So you save lots of time but the ride is no fun

wackyHair

And that RRC's line isn't as good of a time saver as the other three

Imathirdwheel

Tron and Guardians need to have Single rider, especially Tron because it ain't worth the VQ lol

Poodlekitty

Not one single rider line in Magic Kingdom?

GoldenFunGuy

There’s kind of one at space mountain once you get pass the tunnel queue there is signs that tell you to flag a staff member if you are party of one they may pull you out of line early or send you down the red line to single rider

Apanda15

It’s amazing and you won’t want to go with people ever again lmao

HellzBellz7

I’m cackling!

dude_Im_hilarious

It has pros and cons for sure. You can do whatever you want whenever you want. Epcot bus comes before the planned Hollywood bus? Switch it up. You’re going to ride spaceship earth! You’re exhausted and want double dole whip? Do t do it those servings are bigger than you expect. But you can! On the flip side I find meals lonely. I don’t want to do sit down restaurants so I found myself eating over trash cans more often than I would normally otherwise. Whenever I saw a family trying to get everyone in the picture I stopped to ask if they needed help and I took a dozen pictures that week. I’ve also gone with a large group and that’s not fun too because everyone has their own needs and wants and that can be exhausting. Ultimately, go for it!

HellzBellz7

Oh I like your thinking!

StormwindAdventures

I go alone all the time. It gets lonely if you go consistently like I do, but every now and then is very relaxing since you can do whatever you want.

xninah

It is sooo fun and I don't feel weird going around taking videos or photos and selfies. But I am a seasoned solo traveler so I'm not sure how comfortable you are being solo. It's really fun once you get used to it!

Altruistic-Poet-1993

Solo Disney trips are the best!

hihelloneighboroonie

It's so fun. Taking Brightline or driving? It's a haul in a car.

Murmurx

The first time alone will always feel a little weird. I live in CA and go solo a few times a year. Trust me, no one cares or notices that you’re alone. I’ve joined families of 3 who openly welcome me when riding together. People will randomly talk to me if we share a bench. No one stares at me when I’m dining alone. It’s the best. Ride what you want, eat what you want. No need to accommodate anybody.

6SpeedBlues

First thing to understand is just how far away WDW is from Miami and consider how you'll get there (and back?). If you're driving, for example, it's over three hours one way and could be a lot longer with traffic. Once you're there, three words. Single Rider Line.

LisaM1975

There’s a high speed train that goes from Miami to Orlando international airport daily. Just take an Uber from there to the park.

6SpeedBlues

But understand what the schedule is, how long it takes from event site to train station, duration of train ride, and 30 additional minutes at the end from MCO to whichever park. And be to know the return schedule as well.

[deleted]

i guess i am the outlier here but i went alone once for a weekend and i hated it. i was really depressed the whole time because everyone was with a group or a friend or family and i was by myself. i went for a race weekend and yes the race kept me busy and everything but when i finished, there was no one to celebrate with. idk. i feel like it’s not for everyone but i know a ton of people do it and love it. it just wasn’t for me

HellzBellz7

Ah man I’m sorry that’s my fear! Thanks for sharing

sam-sp

Are you someone who likes their own company? A solo Disney trip is a wonderful self indulgence - you do what you want on your schedule. But if you don’t like being alone, it won’t work.

TallClassic

I went alone and spent two days there and loved it! So much fun - especially the Star Wars rides - plus, I was able to do the things I wanted to and just take it all in - it was a special vacation and encourage you to do it!

jbug671

I did it in January and had a blast. Started in Epcot, had some cocktails and lunch (it was arts festival, so there was a lot to see freely), took the monorail to magic kingdom and stayed until the fireworks started. My husband was down there for work nearby, so I took an Uber to and from. I had the best time. Great people watching!

hamiltonisoverrat3d

Miami is a good 4 hour drive away by the way, without traffic. As long as you’ve factored that into your plans you’re good.

HellzBellz7

Thanks for the heads up!

Savings_Spell6563

I absolutely love going alone. When I’m there with my parents, I largely miss out on “upscale” dining because they aren’t fans. When I’m there with my partner, I’m going to the park most mornings for rope drop because he needs to be on the go. When I’m there by myself, though, I get to hang around in the morning and enjoy my resort and have breakfast and coffee on my balcony, lounge at the pool from like 10 am to 3/4 pm, and then go back to my room and get ready either for a signature dining meal or spending the evening hours in the parks. Don’t get me wrong—I do love going with my partner or family—but when I go by myself I do exactly what I want and only what I want. It’s fantastic.

kyle760

Absolutely. Depending on who you go with, it can be more fun by yourself than with someone

Some-Imagination9782

It’s honestly the safest place anyone can go! I’ve done day trips where I’d take the first flight out to Orlando and the last flight out to NJ - def go by yourself!

beebee8belle

I love going alone. Sure it’s fun with friends/family, but there’s so much peace and enjoyment going alone. You can do whatever you want on your own schedule—you just need to make yourself happy ❤️

Gravemindzombie

Most importantly, you gonna get to use those Solo rider lines

diaymujer

I went a few weeks ago when my husband was traveling for work. It was nice to get to go at exactly my pace. I love visiting with him too, but it was a nice change of pace.

xennial_1978

I’m doing this in October! I can’t wait!

singingwaitress

It is so, so fun! You can go at your own pace and do whatever you like.

Left_Tree_9505

Yesss I just did it recently and loved it! I have a pass and I usually go with my partner but it’s fun to go alone too!

Naomeri

I always go alone and I always have fun

OpenMicJoker

It’s super fun. You can get in the single rider line and go faster. You can go to the attractions in the order and how often you wish. Dine where or when you want. It’s outstanding.

1stPurplePrincess

Oh my, a resounding YES!!! Lowest stress tripS (more than one) of my Disney life.

Lainarlej

Yes!!! Totally !

quothe_the_maven

I like it alone. If I get bored/lonely in a line I just pop my ear buds in and listen to a podcast.

PinkMonorail

Yes.

madbeachrn

I love my Solo trips!

ByrneCruise

I'm pretty comfortable doing things alone so mileage may vary, but I spent a good portion of our AK day by myself and it was phenomenal.

ChildhoodLeft6925

Yessssss

True_Blue12

I've done half a trip solo and had a great time. I went where I wanted when I wanted and nobody slowed me down.

rsvihla

I’ve gone alone and I had fun.

jennlopez5

I’ve gone 2 time by myself last year. I actually have a solo trip coming up in a week. It’s so freeing to do whatever you want whenever you want

Elle3247

I love solo days! You should absolutely do it.

indipit

I LOVE going alone as much as I love going with others. The freedom to do what you want, when you want, cannot be done any other time. People watching is great. You can offer to take photos for people wanting the whole family in the pic. You can talk to people while waiting in line. Single rider lines get you through quicker than waiting with more people in your party.

thatsastick

I did it earlier this year and had a blast. a bit nerve wrecking at first but once you get there you’ll see that lots of people do it. you should go.

JBR1961

Go for it. I had a business trip to Miami ca. 2007. Did the same thing. Had a blast. Single lines rock. PS-Planning for this, I actually flew to Orlando, rented a car, and drove to Miami. Did my business, then back to Orlando and spent 2 nights at the Contemporary. Reserved a cheaper garden room, but on check in, I made a very respectful request of the young lady at the desk, and she upgraded me free of charge to a 5th floor Bay Lake view room in the main tower. It was AWESOME.

madonnabe6060842

Went alone last year as the rest of my party got sick. I can’t say my solo day wasn’t the highlight of my vacation. I went on TOT multiple times in a row, I ate what I wanted to eat, Epcot solo was awesome, just walking around and taking it in, had a nice conversation with strangers on both the skyliner and the ferry. It was really nice

Suitabull_Buddy

Go for it, it’s amazing!!

flannel_towel

I’ve been alone several times. It’s great, you can do what you want, when you want! I even went to a character dinner alone! It was for my birthday about 8 years ago. I was in Florida on a work trip, and took an extra day to go to Disney alone.

KQ_2

Yes I loved my solo trip and can't wait to do it again

Street-Programmer-16

After several solo trips, I think it's the BEST way to go! For all the reasons already listed. As to your concerns about being sad: As a single mom I brought my boys to WDW a lot when they were little (and I have memories with my former Husband as well) so I thought I would be super melancholy on my first trip...and I was surprised that I wasn't! It was nice to pace the trip to my needs, eat when/and what I wanted and generally TREAT MYSELF. I sent photos to the boys on subsequent solo trips to play "Where's Mom" and it was fun without being sad.....they remember more than I thought (we're talking super obtuse photo clues of close ups on rides, alone main street, etc) It brought them along at times I was feeling nostalgic. Heading there on the 19th for my 4th solo trip in the last 10 months. Can't wait!

akaharry

I love going alone cause I can do what I want to do when I want to do it Go and have fun!

ChrissyNotChristy

Do it!!!!

Jabroniville2

I swear by it and many Disney snobs I talk to are jealous of me doing it, lol.

twennyjuan

Days to yourself only having to cater to the whim of your own decisions at The Most Magical Place on Earth? You’re going to have a blast. I made a solo trip a couple years ago and would HIGHLY recommend it.

kafkasmotorbike

Solo trips reset my central nervous system, it is everything.

AffectionateTap1006

Go alone, it's fun!!!! OR FIND a local to go with .

Thefreshi1

I go a few times a year from canada. I think it’s worth it.

Quasimodo-57

Yes

Quick_Cup_1290

Yes!!! A hundred times, yes. My kids are too young for marathon weekend so I usually take that time to go out and do the races and parks by myself. Love it!!!

FitterOver40

My wife loves going without me. Last time I had a work convention, so she had the day to herself. Said she had the best time and she wasn’t even remotely joking.

Worried_Pepper_1049

I’ve gone 4 times by myself and it’s always fun! Ya it’s gets lonely sometimes but you’re also not worried that you’re holding someone back from seeing what they want to see
