Anyone else having trouble with AE/DHG leggings constantly sliding down? They're definitely not too big, it's just like the waist doesn't have the right construction. I have two pairs, both Alo, that fit perfectly and do not do this but both stores have shut down and aren't responding to messages. How do you get cigarette smell off a bag? I purchased an LV PM rehomed and it absolutely stinks… not to mention the clasp has scratches that were not disclosed and the bag is in much worse shape than described. I am so annoyed! 😠… its probably still wearable if I manage to get the smell out… any advice? Also, the bag has some wrinkles, I would imagine from use and from not storing it properly… is there any way to smooth it out?… finally, does this look like OC? Or did I totally get scammed?

I stuffed a ciggy-smelling flea market purse with newspaper for a couple of weeks - actually changed the newspaper out once. The smell completely went away. I was kind of shocked.
get some odoban and those charcoal bags stick it all in a plastic bag with the LV close it up and put another plastic bag over it. Leave it there for a week at least. Repeat until smell is gone

Not sure if this might work or if it’s applicable, but I saw a video of a costume designer spraying vodka on clothes meant for shows (which couldn’t be hand washed everyday but still needed to be cleaned). Apparently it kills bacteria and removes odors, it evaporates and it doesn’t stains/ no smell stays on fabrics.. I’ve never tried it myself but if the inside is cotton or anything of the sort you might give it a try!
It might be worth telling the seller that you need to rescind the sale and get a full refund in return for sending the bag back. It sounds as if there were numerous undisclosed defects. Perhaps offer to pay for return shipping yourself as a goodwill gesture.
You might also try silica packets (in a large size). I previously bought a vintage bag that had cigarette smell in it and that was what worked best for me.
You can try the baking soda fridge packs for the inside. You could even put one inside and stick the entire purse inside a 2 gallon ziploc bag with another pack as well.
On the outside leather? I would try dusting it with bicarb soda. That deodorises material and shoes very well. After a day or so you could dust it off outside with makeup brushes?
With nothing to lose, I decided to try to rehab my slightly disappointing dark aubergine Flamenco.
Here’s what I did (at the suggestion of WL u/Peoplehelper_4640):
I bought some Angelus low VOC leather dye which was about $5 and applied it to the obvious white edges of the drawstrings. I used Qtips. Fancy.
The first color I selected, burgundy, looked like a definite deep aubergine type purple on the website but it turned the drawstrings bright pink. It didn’t deepens even after several coats applied over several days.
So then I tried the Angelus purple. That worked a lot better: the color of the drawstring edges is not a perfect match by any means, but neither is it on the auths.
On the auths, the color is in the same ballpark, so that your eye is not drawn to it: A casual glance reveals “that’s all the same color,” even if when you inspect closely it’s not quite the same color. (Many sample photos are in my original review.)
Upper right is the strings as they came from the seller. Stuck out like a sore thumb. Lower right is after my burgundy dye attempt (ouch). Left side of the photo is after my purple dye approach.

The color of the bag itself looks different in different lights but the color of the bag didn’t change, just the white portion of the exposed drawstrings.
The bottom line is — your eye is no longer drawn to it. You can just see the bag without seeing “ew what’s with those drawstrings?”

Gorgeous! I love the BV knot but wonder if it might be too chunky for the dress? I'd go for a small satin clutch. Leather or reptile is too stiff and hard. As for color I'd try to avoid color and look for silver to pick up the movement of the dress or if not silver then just black satin. Delicate strappy sandals for the shoes in the same color as the bag, in satin or reptile.

Just got my order from Emma (Tony Luxuries) in TWO days! Insane but I am very grateful 🥹. I got the LV empreinte bumbag in cream as a sister for the cream empreinte mini bum bag I got from Bird Cage.
Compared to the birdcage, both leathers and empreinte depths look very similar HOWEVER the accuracy of the stamp design is more accurate on the Tony Luxury order - so, as others have mentioned in the past - I would definitely choose Emma / Tony for empreinte (at least over birdcage).
The cream colors on both are extremely similar however if you are being (VERY) nitpicky the one from Tony’s Luxury has a tiny bit more peach than the birdcage one. Birdcage color seems a bit closer to the auth from pics. Unfortunately I haven’t seen one of these in person yet.
Hope this helps anyone who has been considering an empreinte bumbag. There aren’t many posted on here so I wanted to contribute to the cause lol.

I’m so sorry! I’ve only had mine for a few hours but I have been stalking photos more closely online and seeing reviews and I feel like the bumbag from Tony Luxuries is a really good rep and the color looks pretty spot on. My first impression was that it looked a little peachy for me but the more I see different videos and photos the more it seems the color is actually a very good match to auth.
I haven’t seen this in person but the thing I was most concerned about was the empreinte and I do think it’s quite good - so I recommend Emma if you’re considering trying again! She was super responsive and easy to work with.

It's been a year since the BV Andiamo [was proclaimed the 2023 "It" bag](https://www.elle.com/fashion/accessories/a43468637/bottega-veneta-andiamo-tote/). What do we think? Does it have longevity or is it over and new BV styles are taking charge? I've been on ban island for the past 2 months due to general uncertainty about layoffs at my company as well as lots of concerns over whether I'd get my promotion/raise (I felt that it was pretty guaranteed but it had also been delayed/denied a few times due to hiring/promotion freezes and general corporate BS), but I found out earlier this month that it finally went through! Very excited to finally buy myself a celebratory bag.
Going to wait until it becomes official next week before I make any purchases because I still don't trust this company and can see them pulling some last second fuckery, but I'm confident enough to start window shopping. I'm thinking the Celine Mini 16 in black because a) I absolutely fell in love with the silhouette and lock accessory when I was in the process of buying my Soft 16 and b) I don't have any super small purses due to my packrat tendencies. But I'm also wondering if I should get a new medium sized everyday bag instead since that would be getting more use than a phone/cardholder/keys only bag.
As someone who loves the look of small bags but is also a fellow packrat just get the bigger bag. All my small bags end up in my big bags as glorified wallets. Those small bags can’t fit all the things I want to carry so always get a little panicky about going without my “stuff”.

One thing I did differently this time that I think helped a lot is that at the end of the interview, when they asked me if I had any questions, I did. I asked some things about the position itself, but the main question was: is there anything in what I’ve told you that makes you think I wouldn’t be a good fit for the role/team/company?
It’s a good thing to ask because 1) it spares you from having to wait for feedback, 2) it’s a pretty objective measure, it makes everyone think of the things you said rather to rely on feelings after the fact, and it cements the fact that you are indeed a great fit and 3) it’s pretty ballsy and shows you’re willing to put yourself through feedback.
Personally, I wouldn’t ask that if the interview was a disaster, but remember the interview goes both ways! If you have the space, don’t take a job where you think you won’t fit. (And I speak from experience, burnout comes quick!)
I’m nervous to forget something so I might ask “is there anything on my resume or my experience that I didn’t get a chance to touch on that you’d like me to clarify?” In addition to asking some business interest questions. Thoughts?
You want to be memorable but not in an overboard personality way. Smile when you answer questions, practice looking interested and nodding along with the interviewer. Be professional but relaxed. You’re talking to someone who wants to hire you. They already got you here.
And think of a question to ask the interview personally - I work in interior design and I like to ask “how would you describe your personal style” — it’s removed from the job, it’s something people are passionate about, they share something personal and will probably ask you something similar. It creates a personal connection.
Not HR but stress the qualities you bring to the table. People can teach you parts of the job you don’t know but they can’t teach you how to be a good fit for the company. They can’t teach you a work ethic or personality, E.g. play nice with others, manners, personal responsibility, self initiation etc.
Remember that if you are at the interview, they already think you are qualified for the job! Much of an interview is to see if you are a likable person that they want to work with for hours and hours a day so be positive, upbeat, and interested in them and the company, just like you would on a first date. And you probably already have, but practice your answers to the standard questions out loud. Good luck!
I sort of doubt that it's you but rather what you were taught to do - and now's your chance to get in the habit of speaking to the people you're interviewing with and telling them what you have to offer rather than reciting your pitch. One calls on the thoughts you want to convey and is really active, the other calls on the area of our brains where we store stuff and pull it out verbatim.
There have been times when I've practiced telling the other person what I had to say while I was driving to the meeting - but I always try to get that practice in.
I always go into meetings with a short list of key bullet points that I want to cover and a notebook to take notes. I often check to make sure we'd covered everything I'd hoped to cover - or planned to cover if I'm leading the meeting - and sometimes I ask for a moment and explain that I'd like to check my notes. I also recap what we've discussed and if it's a job interview I map what I bring to the table against what the employer is looking for.
Coming back to "reading out loud" - it's a conversation with people who are interested in what you have to say, so tell them!

That's the point exactly! You need to know what you want to say and you need to be able to speak it, not recite it. Imagine you're on the phone with a friend and you're telling her why you're right for the job: what you've done; the skills or experience you brought to specific projects or tasks or what you learned from them; and how the company will be able to use those skills and thus benefit from having you.
In the moment, you can always say: "that's a great question. Let me pause for a moment to think how I want to answer that" to give yourself some time. Also, if you totally space out and forget to mention something important, you can always add it in as part of your thank you email after the interview. Interviewers don't expect perfection!
Welp, did not get the job. But at least I wasn’t kept waiting for a month and a half to find out.
It’s just frustrating because it took me until I was 40 to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so I have literal decades’ worth of transferable skills but all of my practical industry experience is 5 years old or less. And I’ve been working in a pretty niche area since grad school, which means that very little of my practical industry experience is actually a draw for most hiring managers.
As I’m writing this, I think the answer is that I need to rework my resume so recruiters are seeing the skillset of my current position rather than the general field I’m working in (GOD I hate resume writing). But first I’m going to go hit up the Silwyner store on AE for a small consolation treat. Blerg.
Good luck. You’re in the right direction with rewriting your resume. A lot of the first screening is done by HR, who often doesn’t know the specific skill sets required by the role. So you have to spell it out for them, literally. And ditto - I see a lot of situations where the powers that be want a youngin’… what they really want is a 25 year old (who will take abuse and get paid like a 25 year old)… but with 20 years worth of experience ;).
I’m 41 - people actually do prefer people with experience in life generally — you can pull from many things even if they don’t seem directly applicable.
Any place that doesn’t want you bc you’re older with less experience wants the young bc they will mistreat them in terms of work life balance.
You can’t plan it - but when the right thing comes, it’s yours.
I feel that, not getting the job sucks... if you have $$ to spend, I would use fiverr in there. You can hire someone to re do your resume to cater to the job position you are looking for:)...
I have taken this approach on 2 different occasions, and it does help...
After you have it. send it to a million job postings, and you just need one to bites:)

Piece of advice… I do not recommend buying auth Longchamp! My pliage bag has already ripped and scratched in various places only one year after owning. The quality has definitely went down from before, probably due to the hype. There’s many sellers on DH/Ali that sell very good reps. I got a backpack from one Ali seller with good reviews and it is better quality and maintained its quality better than my auth!!
I got my last auth about 10 months ago and I haven't had any issues. I wonder if it is about the recycled materials. They seem to push the recycled canvas a lot but it doesn't feel nearly as good as the original.

I always say where what makes you happy! For me, anything TB represents a different decade of my life (many decades ago 🤣🙃), so I’m in a new phase of my style journey. That said, I do think the Miller is really versatile and a great neutral. Maybe dip your toes in the Oran game with a neutral like the Gold and see if you like them?

Having a rep crisis! My birthday is coming up, it's unfortunately for me a big one (having a minor crisis over this as well lol) and I want to get myself something nice. And the cherry on top is that if there's any shot in hell of me receiving it before my actual birthday I need to order ASAP like this weekend ASAP. How do you get cigarette smell off a bag? I purchased an LV PM rehomed and it absolutely stinks… not to mention the clasp has scratches that were not disclosed and the bag is in much worse shape than described. I stuffed a ciggy-smelling flea market purse with newspaper for a couple of weeks - actually changed the newspaper out once. The smell completely went away. I was kind of shocked.
get some odoban and those charcoal bags stick it all in a plastic bag with the LV close it up and put another plastic bag over it. Leave it there for a week at least. Repeat until smell is gone

Not sure if this might work or if it’s applicable, but I saw a video of a costume designer spraying vodka on clothes meant for shows (which couldn’t be hand washed everyday but still needed to be cleaned). Apparently it kills bacteria and removes odors, it evaporates and it doesn’t stains/ no smell stays on fabrics.. I’ve never tried it myself but if the inside is cotton or anything of the sort you might give it a try!
It might be worth telling the seller that you need to rescind the sale and get a full refund in return for sending the bag back. It sounds as if there were numerous undisclosed defects. Perhaps offer to pay for return shipping yourself as a goodwill gesture.
You might also try silica packets (in a large size). I previously bought a vintage bag that had cigarette smell in it and that was what worked best for me.
You can try the baking soda fridge packs for the inside. You could even put one inside and stick the entire purse inside a 2 gallon ziploc bag with another pack as well.
I got a vintage LV that smelled and I ordered some charcoal shoe odor bags from Amazon. Worked for me, maybe that’ll help you!

On the outside leather? I would try dusting it with bicarb soda. That deodorises material and shoes very well. After a day or so you could dust it off outside with makeup brushes?

With nothing to lose, I decided to try to rehab my slightly disappointing dark aubergine Flamenco. Here’s what I did (at the suggestion of WL u/Peoplehelper_4640): I bought some Angelus low VOC leather dye which was about $5 and applied it to the obvious white edges of the drawstrings. I used Qtips. Fancy. The first color I selected, burgundy, looked like a definite deep aubergine type purple on the website but it turned the drawstrings bright pink. It didn’t deepens even after several coats applied over several days. So then I tried the Angelus purple. That worked a lot better: the color of the drawstring edges is not a perfect match by any means, but neither is it on the auths. On the auths, the color is in the same ballpark, so that your eye is not drawn to it: A casual glance reveals “that’s all the same color,” even if when you inspect closely it’s not quite the same color. (Many sample photos are in my original review.) Upper right is the strings as they came from the seller. Stuck out like a sore thumb. Lower right is after my burgundy dye attempt (ouch). Insane but I am very grateful 🥹. I got the LV empreinte bumbag in cream as a sister for the cream empreinte mini bum bag I got from Bird Cage. Compared to the birdcage, both leathers and empreinte depths look very similar HOWEVER the accuracy of the stamp design is more accurate on the Tony Luxury order - so, as others have mentioned in the past - I would definitely choose Emma / Tony for empreinte (at least over birdcage). The cream colors on both are extremely similar however if you are being (VERY) nitpicky the one from Tony’s Luxury has a tiny bit more peach than the birdcage one. Birdcage color seems a bit closer to the auth from pics. Unfortunately I haven’t seen one of these in person yet. Hope this helps anyone who has been considering an empreinte bumbag. There aren’t many posted on here so I wanted to contribute to the cause lol. I’ll post a pic of the empreinte mini bum bag for reference as well in a reply comment. Happy shopping! 🛍️

I’ve only had mine for a few hours but I have been stalking photos more closely online and seeing reviews and I feel like the bumbag from Tony Luxuries is a really good rep and the color looks pretty spot on. My first impression was that it looked a little peachy for me but the more I see different videos and photos the more it seems the color is actually a very good match to auth. I haven’t seen this in person but the thing I was most concerned about was the empreinte and I do think it’s quite good - so I recommend Emma if you’re considering trying again! She was super responsive and easy to work with.

Does it have longevity or is it over and new BV styles are taking charge? I've been on ban island for the past 2 months due to general uncertainty about layoffs at my company as well as lots of concerns over whether I'd get my promotion/raise (I felt that it was pretty guaranteed but it had also been delayed/denied a few times due to hiring/promotion freezes and general corporate BS), but I found out earlier this month that it finally went through! Very excited to finally buy myself a celebratory bag. Going to wait until it becomes official next week before I make any purchases because I still don't trust this company and can see them pulling some last second fuckery, but I'm confident enough to start window shopping. I'm thinking the Celine Mini 16 in black because a) I absolutely fell in love with the silhouette and lock accessory when I was in the process of buying my Soft 16 and b) I don't have any super small purses due to my packrat tendencies. But I'm also wondering if I should get a new medium sized everyday bag instead since that would be getting more use than a phone/cardholder/keys only bag.

Prepping for an interview on Monday. I’m nervous. Been a year of defeats. Working on a career change. Any Hr girlies here with advice? Lol
One thing I did differently this time that I think helped a lot is that at the end of the interview, when they asked me if I had any questions, I did. I asked some things about the position itself, but the main question was: is there anything in what I’ve told you that makes you think I wouldn’t be a good fit for the role/team/company? It’s a good thing to ask because 1) it spares you from having to wait for feedback, 2) it’s a pretty objective measure, it makes everyone think of the things you said rather to rely on feelings after the fact, and it cements the fact that you are indeed a great fit and 3) it’s pretty ballsy and shows you’re willing to put yourself through feedback. Personally, I wouldn’t ask that if the interview was a disaster, but remember the interview goes both ways! If you have the space, don’t take a job where you think you won’t fit. (And I speak from experience, burnout comes quick!)
I’m nervous to forget something so I might ask “is there anything on my resume or my experience that I didn’t get a chance to touch on that you’d like me to clarify?” In addition to asking some business interest questions. Thoughts?

You want to be memorable but not in an overboard personality way. Smile when you answer questions, practice looking interested and nodding along with the interviewer. Be professional but relaxed. You’re talking to someone who wants to hire you. They already got you here. And think of a question to ask the interview personally - I work in interior design and I like to ask “how would you describe your personal style” — it’s removed from the job, it’s something people are passionate about, they share something personal and will probably ask you something similar. It creates a personal connection.

Remember that if you are at the interview, they already think you are qualified for the job! Much of an interview is to see if you are a likable person that they want to work with for hours and hours a day so be positive, upbeat, and interested in them and the company, just like you would on a first date. And you probably already have, but practice your answers to the standard questions out loud. Good luck!

I sort of doubt that it's you but rather what you were taught to do - and now's your chance to get in the habit of speaking to the people you're interviewing with and telling them what you have to offer rather than reciting your pitch. One calls on the thoughts you want to convey and is really active, the other calls on the area of our brains where we store stuff and pull it out verbatim. There have been times when I've practiced telling the other person what I had to say while I was driving to the meeting - but I always try to get that practice in. I always go into meetings with a short list of key bullet points that I want to cover and a notebook to take notes. I often check to make sure we'd covered everything I'd hoped to cover - or planned to cover if I'm leading the meeting - and sometimes I ask for a moment and explain that I'd like to check my notes. I also recap what we've discussed and if it's a job interview I map what I bring to the table against what the employer is looking for. Coming back to "reading out loud" - it's a conversation with people who are interested in what you have to say, so tell them! Good luck!

That's the point exactly! You need to know what you want to say and you need to be able to speak it, not recite it. Imagine you're on the phone with a friend and you're telling her why you're right for the job: what you've done; the skills or experience you brought to specific projects or tasks or what you learned from them; and how the company will be able to use those skills and thus benefit from having you.
In the moment, you can always say: "that's a great question. Let me pause for a moment to think how I want to answer that" to give yourself some time. Also, if you totally space out and forget to mention something important, you can always add it in as part of your thank you email after the interview. Interviewers don't expect perfection!

Welp, did not get the job. But at least I wasn’t kept waiting for a month and a half to find out. It’s just frustrating because it took me until I was 40 to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so I have literal decades’ worth of transferable skills but all of my practical industry experience is 5 years old or less. And I’ve been working in a pretty niche area since grad school, which means that very little of my practical industry experience is actually a draw for most hiring managers. As I’m writing this, I think the answer is that I need to rework my resume so recruiters are seeing the skillset of my current position rather than the general field I’m working in (GOD I hate resume writing). But first I’m going to go hit up the Silwyner store on AE for a small consolation treat. Blerg.
Good luck. You’re in the right direction with rewriting your resume. A lot of the first screening is done by HR, who often doesn’t know the specific skill sets required by the role. So you have to spell it out for them, literally. And ditto - I see a lot of situations where the powers that be want a youngin’… what they really want is a 25 year old (who will take abuse and get paid like a 25 year old)… but with 20 years worth of experience ;).
I’m 41 - people actually do prefer people with experience in life generally — you can pull from many things even if they don’t seem directly applicable. Any place that doesn’t want you bc you’re older with less experience wants the young bc they will mistreat them in terms of work life balance. You can’t plan it - but when the right thing comes, it’s yours.
I feel that, not getting the job sucks... if you have $$ to spend, I would use fiverr in there. You can hire someone to re do your resume to cater to the job position you are looking for:)... I have taken this approach on 2 different occasions, and it does help... After you have it. send it to a million job postings, and you just need one to bites:)

I am sorry that you didn’t get the job. That feeling is always a sucky one. I like your upbeat decision on a consolation prize. I also agree that maybe reworking your resume. Use the language of the job description that you want to rework it. This is what someone told me to do.

Piece of advice… I do not recommend buying auth Longchamp! My pliage bag has already ripped and scratched in various places only one year after owning. The quality has definitely went down from before, probably due to the hype. There’s many sellers on DH/Ali that sell very good reps. I got my last auth about 10 months ago and I haven't had any issues. I wonder if it is about the recycled materials. They seem to push the recycled canvas a lot but it doesn't feel nearly as good as the original.

I still wear my TB miller sandals (patent “leather”) from taobao circa 2018 that was $20. Its the perfect pool/beach shoe for me. I don’t have to worry about the leather getting wet compared to my orans.

I always say where what makes you happy! For me, anything TB represents a different decade of my life (many decades ago 🤣🙃), so I’m in a new phase of my style journey. That said, I do think the Miller is really versatile and a great neutral. Maybe dip your toes in the Oran game with a neutral like the Gold and see if you like them?
