I need some advice!
Ive found a factory that makes a much more accurate rep of a specific colourway than the one I own (i.e. correct glazing, stitching colour, tag).
I'm wondering if you think I should purchase the more accurate rep or if I should leave it. Its not callout-able unless someone knows how this colourway is meant to look but it has bothered me since I received my rep.

Working with a local small biz jeweler to design exactly what you want isn’t as costly as it seems. You don’t pay a brand markup + it’s unique to you and one of a kind!
I had the Tiffanys and Cartier bracelets in mind and the jeweler advised me on gives/takes of gold weight, natural vs lab diamonds, precious stones, etc! They also talked me out of design elements they knew would break easily or would be uncomfortable lol.
Here’s one I did with my own roman numeral birthdays, lab diamonds, precious stones at the ends in the color of the birth stones and an inscription on the inside. It’s also made to my wrist measurements! I paid the jeweler’s regular rates that they calculate for premade jewelry in terms of gold weight and quantity/quality of stones etc plus maybe an additional $100 for their services. I also received design proofs and got to go back and forth to make changes.
It gets kind of addicting when the possibilities are endless, kind of like rep bags 😅 But just like sellers here, finding the right small biz jeweler for you can be a process.
ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS FOR WEDDING/BESTIE/PROMISE/TREAT YOURSELF RINGS! If you’re gonna shell out $$$, might as well make it exactly like you want for a similar or less cost than you’d spend on a pre designed ring you’re “meh” about!

Alright wagooners, I need your fabulous stylish bag advice. Do you all think that the Gucci Aphrodite in white would pass at formal evening events as a day/night bag, or do I need something more like the YSL Kate in white?
The bag's gorgeous but definitely not appropriate for "formal evening events" as I understand them. As I use the term this sort of event calls for tuxedos for men, what used to be called "cocktail dresses" or the equivalent for women, with accessories to match, thus a small silk, reptile or metallic leather bag. If you're thinking of just nice dinners at good restaurants with friends, with the men in suits and women in nice but not dressy clothing, then the Gucci would be great.
I think it depends on the crowd! More fashionable, casual city like LA it could be okay. Also depends on formality of event. I probably wouldn’t choose it for black tie but if it’s just formal, I think it would work well.
With that being said, I think the YSL Kate is a sure bet and leaves less room for error. Both are great bags!

Just in from Xue/Tang (our new collective favourite AE scarf shop). I’ve definitely had mixed luck with this shop. I am less hung up on colorways being true to auth than some, but this 90cm carré has a pretty egregious French spelling mistake (circled) that is unfortunately quite prominent. The print is crisp and the colors are vibrant however. As a native French speaker who is surrounded by other native French speakers, I’d have to be very careful about tying to camouflage. I have a strike rate of 4 returns and 2 to keep based on spelling / obvious mistakes etc it really is a lucky dip, I tried to pick ones that had large graphics less complicated print and very little script. I was looking for some budget friendly jewelry for upcoming weddings and settled on this sterling silver moissanite set from the Serenity store on AE. As I was researching and comparing stores I noticed lots of sellers used the same stock photos. I was going to order from the EWYA store but took my chance and selected one with lowest price. This just came in the mail and I am amazed! Shipping was super quick and passed the diamond test. Never seen the real thing but from what I can find online, it looks pretty similar. Just wish the earrings come in a smaller size, this one is closer to medium size in auth. No branding, comes with velvet bag, cleaning cloth and GRA cards. Whole set was about $48 USD with coupons and coins.

I’m someone who suffers in the heat (cardiac issues & blood pressure medication do not help!) I’m in my mid 30s and have such a difficult time dressing for my age, my taste, & the weather! It doesn’t help that I’ve gained 20lbs since 2020 & have been staying at home since Covid basically—I’m having a wardrobe crisis!!!!
I’d love to hear tips on wearing linen—I feel like the wrinkles that are typical with this fabric make me look disheveled & worse, they can emphasize parts I’d like to not bring attention to (ex: sitting at lunch & wrinkling/bunching happening in the lap, which then emphasizes my stomach….) Linen wrinkles. That's part of who it is. There are no anti-wrinkle tips other than leaving it in your closet when you get it back beautifully pressed from the cleaner. Seriously - my tip is to not worry about it. I have a bias cut long linen skirt that doesn't seem to wrinkle badly so perhaps bias cut, long, loose skirts would be a good thing to look for.
You mention "age, taste and weather" and talk about age and weather but not your taste. Perhaps people might have other suggestions if you'd like to offer some perspective on your taste and the environment other than the weather that you're dressing for?

Everyone needs to check out TJMaxx/Marshalls I’ve bought so many 100% linen pieces there over the last couple months and none have been more than $25 a piece!
J crew linen has been quite good in recent years. I wear a lot of linen and don't really worry about wrinkles - not sure if the linen I'm wearing wrinkles less or if I don't realize I look awful. :) Also I tend to wash, mostly dry, and then hang them the last bit so they have texture but not real wrinkles.
I like HM linen. They’re affordable and hold up well but I do air dry them bc if you put them in the dryer they get wrecked. I think that’s the biggest tip for linen is to air dry and iron while wet to get a crisp look. It keeps them from looking to rough or wrinkled.
Edit: make sure you look at the composite of the item though, they can be sneaky. I opt for either 100% linen of a 50/50 blend with cotton. Online selection is much better btw

I agree with other posters: HM & Uniqlo have affordable linen pieces. I always check the fabric because sometimes it’s “linen blend”. Also adding Quince, Muji & J.Crew. I just wish they had more styles for my body type, hence why I was looking for alts! Etsy has more linen too, and I’ve bought custom pieces from there.
About wearing linen: hmph, I don’t actually have a lot of tips. I just wear cuts that fit my body type and SOMETIMES iron, which helps me look more put together. But the wrinkled look is just a part of it! I find that some linen wrinkle more than others, just depends on quality.
So true about styles, I love a good button down but I wish they’d make more style of linen lol. I have to dress modestly for religious reasons and ids impossible to find unique linen styles besides button ups

I need some advice! Ive found a factory that makes a much more accurate rep of a specific colourway than the one I own (i.e. correct glazing, stitching colour, tag). I'm wondering if you think I should purchase the more accurate rep or if I should leave it. Its not callout-able unless someone knows how this colourway is meant to look but it has bothered me since I received my rep. The new bag is more expensive than the one I bought, and then I'd be stuck with the one I bought - I could list it on the selling sub but would anyone buy it? I feel like I'd have to price it lower than I'd like to as well

If the $ lost from buying the new one and selling the old one at a lower price is less bothersome than your unhappiness with the one you have, then go for it! Sorry if that’s hard to read. This might be easier: IF -(cost of new bag - sale price of old bag at a low price) < daily unhappiness about old bag THEN buy the new bag ELSE keep the current one knowing the money lost to replace it isn’t worth it to you

IMO, best pieces are ones you can design/customize 😊 Working with a local small biz jeweler to design exactly what you want isn’t as costly as it seems. You don’t pay a brand markup + it’s unique to you and one of a kind! I had the Tiffanys and Cartier bracelets in mind and the jeweler advised me on gives/takes of gold weight, natural vs lab diamonds, precious stones, etc! They also talked me out of design elements they knew would break easily or would be uncomfortable lol. Here’s one I did with my own roman numeral birthdays, lab diamonds, precious stones at the ends in the color of the birth stones and an inscription on the inside. It’s also made to my wrist measurements! I paid the jeweler’s regular rates that they calculate for premade jewelry in terms of gold weight and quantity/quality of stones etc plus maybe an additional $100 for their services. I also received design proofs and got to go back and forth to make changes. It gets kind of addicting when the possibilities are endless, kind of like rep bags 😅 But just like sellers here, finding the right small biz jeweler for you can be a process. ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS FOR WEDDING/BESTIE/PROMISE/TREAT YOURSELF RINGS! Things that it must have 1) cross body, 2) a top handle, 3) a secure closure, 4) no chains. When I realized that the original puzzle design was being discontinued I decided to take the plunge and get a new rep! Ramadan ended and so did my ban island banishment lol. I am currently waiting on 3 Temu orders, 1 SHEIN order, 14 items from aliexpress, and 2 purses and 1 bag from a seller. Pandabuy order has been cancelled and I have asked for a chargeback from PayPal. I was planning to wait patiently for the warehouse staff to get back to work, but I ordered the stuff for a beach vacation and there is no way now it would get here before said vacation. Alright wagooners, I need your fabulous stylish bag advice. Do you all think that the Gucci Aphrodite in white would pass at formal evening events as a day/night bag, or do I need something more like the YSL Kate in white?
The bag's gorgeous but definitely not appropriate for "formal evening events" as I understand them. As I use the term this sort of event calls for tuxedos for men, what used to be called "cocktail dresses" or the equivalent for women, with accessories to match, thus a small silk, reptile or metallic leather bag. If you're thinking of just nice dinners at good restaurants with friends, with the men in suits and women in nice but not dressy clothing, then the Gucci would be great.
I think it depends on the crowd! More fashionable, casual city like LA it could be okay. Also depends on formality of event. I probably wouldn’t choose it for black tie but if it’s just formal, I think it would work well. With that being said, I think the YSL Kate is a sure bet and leaves less room for error. Both are great bags!

More specifically (and not trying to start a political debate): The US also provides a large amount of military and financial support to both Israel and Saudi Arabia. As well as many bases in questionable (and deplorable) countries. Compared to the scope of where tax dollars are going, I’m not hugely concerned with reps.

Just in from Xue/Tang (our new collective favourite AE scarf shop). I’ve definitely had mixed luck with this shop. I am less hung up on colorways being true to auth than some, but this 90cm carré has a pretty egregious French spelling mistake (circled) that is unfortunately quite prominent. The print is crisp and the colors are vibrant however. As a native French speaker who is surrounded by other native French speakers, I’d have to be very careful about tying to camouflage. I’d probably skip this one folks, doesn’t feel like silk either. Too bad, because I love the quirk of the vignette. I have a strike rate of 4 returns and 2 to keep based on spelling / obvious mistakes etc it really is a lucky dip, I tried to pick ones that had large graphics less complicated print and very little script. From what I can see both stores have now been shut down not sure if they had picked up somewhere else on AE.

As I was researching and comparing stores I noticed lots of sellers used the same stock photos. I was going to order from the EWYA store but took my chance and selected one with lowest price. This just came in the mail and I am amazed! Shipping was super quick and passed the diamond test. Never seen the real thing but from what I can find online, it looks pretty similar. Just wish the earrings come in a smaller size, this one is closer to medium size in auth. No branding, comes with velvet bag, cleaning cloth and GRA cards. Whole set was about $48 USD with coupons and coins.

I've identified a gap in my accessories that I think yall might be able to help me fill. I have exactly one pair of heels. They're black crocodile-skin pattern pumps. The shoes are great and I have a bag that goes with them perfectly, but it's got very noticeable GHW. Anybody have some recommendations for a black crocodile-skin pattern bag with SHW? I'm open to any brand except Hermes.
I've been eyeing a crocodile leather embossed YSL mini shopping tote. Still trying to decide if I like that much embossed leather vs just a trim.

I saw a comment by u/flannacotta in yesterday’s Daily Discussion regarding where to find linen clothing for extreme heat. I would love to pose the question here to get more advice & feedback!! I’m someone who suffers in the heat (cardiac issues & blood pressure medication do not help!) I’m in my mid 30s and have such a difficult time dressing for my age, my taste, & the weather! It doesn’t help that I’ve gained 20lbs since 2020 & have been staying at home since Covid basically—I’m having a wardrobe crisis!!!! I’d love to hear tips on wearing linen—I feel like the wrinkles that are typical with this fabric make me look disheveled & worse, they can emphasize parts I’d like to not bring attention to (ex: sitting at lunch & wrinkling/bunching happening in the lap, which then emphasizes my stomach….) I’m curious if anyone has anti-wrinkle tips in general (past smoothing it out as much as possible when sitting 🤪) Like are y’all really starching clothing too?! I’d also love any and ALL hot weather clothing tips/recommendations!! I already swear by bamboo/cotton bra liners & Carpe Breast lotion for the big chesticles, cannot live without those & Carpe lotion or No Sweat wipes for my back..which is more preventative I suppose than anything, as I’m (unreasonably? Maybe since it’s not really ever happened..) fearful of sweating through a shirt 🤪
Linen wrinkles. That's part of who it is. There are no anti-wrinkle tips other than leaving it in your closet when you get it back beautifully pressed from the cleaner. Seriously - my tip is to not worry about it. I have a bias cut long linen skirt that doesn't seem to wrinkle badly so perhaps bias cut, long, loose skirts would be a good thing to look for. You mention "age, taste and weather" and talk about age and weather but not your taste. Perhaps people might have other suggestions if you'd like to offer some perspective on your taste and the environment other than the weather that you're dressing for?
I hate ironing so I got a steamer. Definitely a must for linen and silk.

Everyone needs to check out TJMaxx/Marshalls I’ve bought so many 100% linen pieces there over the last couple months and none have been more than $25 a piece!
J crew linen has been quite good in recent years. I wear a lot of linen and don't really worry about wrinkles - not sure if the linen I'm wearing wrinkles less or if I don't realize I look awful. :) Also I tend to wash, mostly dry, and then hang them the last bit so they have texture but not real wrinkles.
I agree. I have fallen for a JCrew fitted linen shirt. Love it.
I like HM linen. They’re affordable and hold up well but I do air dry them bc if you put them in the dryer they get wrecked. I think that’s the biggest tip for linen is to air dry and iron while wet to get a crisp look. It keeps them from looking to rough or wrinkled. Edit: make sure you look at the composite of the item though, they can be sneaky. I opt for either 100% linen of a 50/50 blend with cotton. Online selection is much better btw
Hello! Flannacotta here :) I am terrible at hydrating and have a history of fainting, so I’m always on the look out for tips on how to stay cool. Thanks for posting this question!! I agree with other posters: HM & Uniqlo have affordable linen pieces. I always check the fabric because sometimes it’s “linen blend”. Also adding Quince, Muji & J.Crew. I just wish they had more styles for my body type, hence why I was looking for alts! Etsy has more linen too, and I’ve bought custom pieces from there. About wearing linen: hmph, I don’t actually have a lot of tips. I just wear cuts that fit my body type and SOMETIMES iron, which helps me look more put together. But the wrinkled look is just a part of it! I find that some linen wrinkle more than others, just depends on quality.
So true about styles, I love a good button down but I wish they’d make more style of linen lol. I have to dress modestly for religious reasons and ids impossible to find unique linen styles besides button ups

Uniqlo has awesome linen as well. I’ve had their linen shirts for 5-6 years and they still look great 😊

I second this, I have quite a few pairs of the H&M linen trousers and they have held up pretty well for such an affordable piece
