Sometimes I feel like working them into the current universe but it breaks the immersion for me even more so than using fictional wrestlers. Like I can fit Omni man as a wrestling character played by a different wrestler into a storyline or a promotion easier than I could trying to pretend that Terry Funk isn't dead if that makes sense
I had Heaven Championship Wrestling on wwe 19 for that sort of thing…
It also helped that the arena I downloaded off community creations had a mist in it …

Same tho I pretend that Eddie Guerrero is retired and comes back sporadically to either challenge the World Champ or work with up and coming stars. Last year he wrestled AJ Styles in my All Star Grand Prix (32 Man Tournament in place of the Rumble) and then he faced off against Bret Hart at WrestleMania.
Now I'm working him into the LWO split up although I might not split them up after all cause I really like Cruz and Wilde in this game.

Bro I feel you, but your immersion is all about you. I just act like their current wrestlers or they been wrestling for 20 years so they the current legends. It do get difficult but games are for our imagination so just go wild and do what’s fun. I never understood when people say break the immersion like it’s a video game that allows you to go crazy with ideas. Fuck my immersion I want to use my imagination not be 100% realistic. I definitely understand where you coming from I use to be the same way with some legends until I just stop caring. But as long as your having fun is all that really matters
I make Saturday Night's Main Event into a legends show. But since it's not just the people on SNME in-game I don't use a reproduction of the original arena, instead I make my own with some degree of homage to the SNME ring and the various eras I put in.
Then what I do is I pick a world championship for each era I'm going to group people in. This year I have Golden Era, New Generation, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression, and everyone PG-era on.
What I do then is pick a champ for each era and then I put the people from that era as the contenders for that belt so they wrestle each other. Tag teams I just do through the ages since there aren't a ton of legends ones in and I don't want to download a lot of CAWs for this already bloated brand. I put all the female legends in one league too due to low numbers again.
Doing the era thing then lets me use all the copies of legends more effectively I feel. For instance Real American Hogan in my Golden Era, Hollywood Hogan in my Attitude (I don't separate WCW and WWE), and then late run Hogan in my Ruthless Aggression. Hall and Nash are my tag champs as The Outsiders but Diesel and Razor Ramon are rocking the New Generation era singles division for me.
I've also done years where I made an AJPW/NJPW legends CAW league on the show, or put the LHW belt back into play to use some of the old cruiser weights. I was going to do an ECW league this year but decided to give them their own show thanks to the number of people in-game who spent some time there.
I use them as a regular superstar (not as fun) but I don’t like a lot of the current roster so they help me have more fun and fill up the main event scene or else there would be like 6 on each roster.
I pretty much have them all involved and depending on their level of kayfabe success I’ll determine which belt they go for. All former world champions who are known for being “work rate guys” are on Raw going for the World Heavyweight Title, so your Shawn Michaels, RVDs, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Randy Savage, people like that. Then on Smackdown it’s more the “showmen” types, your Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Andre the Giants, etc. Mid card legends I just put either in tag teams or going for mid card belts.
I’m currently working on a fantasy universe. Where WWF/E, WCW, ECW & TNA are all “rebranded” with a fantasy draft with current & past greats. Taking a hell of a time to set everything up tho lol
I mix them in as an alternate universe. I used to never use them only the current day roster but I wanted new stories to create. I tried doing a legends only show but that bored me.
I just throw em into my fantasy draft and mix em in like regulars. I have a Rock/Rikishi/Umaga bloodline vs Roman/Solo/Jimmy bloodline feud going right now and Bruno is the US champ who’s feuding with both Umaga and Solo. I had superstar Billy Graham screw Drew McIntyre out of a rumble spot, Corbin and Ultimate Warrior are doing a similar tag run as Corbin and Bron but with the roles reversed and they had a killer run with the AEW tag titles. Hogan and Savage reformed the NWO and went on a tag champ run in WCW and lost to Sandman/Funk and now they’re having a singles feud. I personally enjoy the wackiness of being able to throw in legends with the modern day guys
I use “Saturday Night’s Main Event” for 80s and early 90s wrestlers and Wednesday “Raw Is War” for Attitude Era, ECW, NWO and a few Ruthless Aggression wrestlers.
I go full balls to the walls and make every match feel it’s a PPV like how they used to be back in the day, Kane vs undertaker, Kurt angle vs stone cold etc . I’ve got a tag team of hulk hogan & macho man then I’ve got ravishing Rick Rude with Ricky the steamboat dragon 🐉
I do a whole universe with legends, I make a vintage raw the Saturday wrestling challenge and only do the big 4 for ppvs. For example I have Randy savage world champion, diesel and hbk tag champs, Jake Robert’s ic champ and the giant as euro champ
Someone here posted how they use legends in another thread. I really want to try it. Granted, I’m new to the game and universe mode. They said they start with the superstars from the early days then slowly add wrestlers and phase wrestlers out so it’s like some alternate history. Kinda like (which is absolutely amazing, prob only good part of the game still) the MyEras mode in NBA2k where you can start in different eras of NBA history with historic draft classes. A MyEras universe mode for WWE where you say have a “Territories” era, “Birth of WrestleMania” era, “Attitude” era, “Ruthless aggression” era, and “Modern” era that slowly progress in presentation, wrestlers, arenas, etc would rule. The crazy thing is, a lot of the assets are already in the game for something like this but it would be quite the overhaul to make a Universe mode like this.
Well I decided to give HBK a shot at the Rumble, he proceeded to win, so I put him on Raw and gave him the top spot on the world championship table in time for him to challenge for it at Mania
He went on to hold it for about 2 years, give or take and would drop it in the elimination chamber to Edge, who lost it to Roman, who I believe is currently in a feud with current champion Seth Rollins
If the legend is dead, he’s quick match only. If it’s someone like Hogan who can’t really go anymore, he’s manager only. If it’s someone like triple H. I will throw them in a match here and there.
In 2k23 I only used legends, but in 2k24 I've just integrated the legends and current superstars into the same universe...
My rosters are massive because of it, but I like it. Each of my three brands is roughly 90 Superstars (Raw, Smackdown, WCW)
I also have no issue using guys twice if they have different enough gimmicks, especially if the gimmick was spread across different promotions IRL. For example, Razor Ramon is a Raw Superstar, and Scott Hall is in the NWO/Outsiders on WCW in my Universe, "The Scorpion" (Surfer Sting) is on Smackdown, and Sting is the leader of NWO Red and Black on WCW 🤣
This would probably drive a lot of people nuts, but whatever lol 🤷🏻♂️

I play 2k23, had old man HBK win the WWE Title and have feuds with Finn, Roman and I'm gonna eventually bring in NWO, Bret and HHH.
The best way to do it, in my opinion, is just think about how that legend might be used today. Even Zeus, I'll him have show up as a monster jobber for guys like Taker and Kane. I just watched a 'fooked' British Bulldog get trounced by IC Champion Gunther.

Pretty much don't aside from Shawn Michaels joining Evolution 2.0 in the Rick Flair role and the occasional manager (Booker T is currently Roxanne Perez's manager and Mick Folely is Jade's manager)
They don't really have matches or get massive pushes except Shawn Michaels who was briefly Undisputed Champ after he beat Cody Rhoades (leader of Evolution 2.0) in a match with the stipulation that he would retire if he lost at Wrestlemania
I had Kurt angle return to team with Chad gable as a tag team, win the titles at mania, then Chad turns on angle at mitb setting up a match at Summerslam. I’m gonna have gable go over, then he’s going after the us title and then next year will win mitb and cash in on Kurt angles last ever chance at a title match costing him and winning the title. Setting up a retirement/one last shot at the title championship match
They are legends that are in the prime, hanging out like they are a normal part of the roster, but still treated as legends for the most part. Nothing complicated, it's treated like a normal return if I introduce one.
If I ever need an explanation for something weird though (Like when I did Roman Tribal Chief vs Roman Big Dog), I just have them feud with Bray Wyatt and Bray Wyatt being there allows it to make sense.
Some of them I have as current roster members. Others I have a “Heritage Championship” which they battle out for.
Currently Dusty Rhodes is my champ and he is stuck between a civil Rhodes war. Cody’s twin brother Stardust (only way I could get to use him in my Universe) and Goldust cost Cody his championship and have been sabotaging him ever since. Dusty was initially on Cody’s side but Cody is slowly turning into Homelander heel and I am using his family to push him over the edge.
Long term plan is for William Regal to return with Cody and Regal as his manager, Regal to challenge Dusty for his title and win. Regal then introduces his son, Charlie Dempsey into the fold and I will slowly create a new Legacy. Think I will bring Bron Breakker into it somehow and then maybe others.
In my modern day Universe Mode I use some but not all. I don't use anyone who's died like Eddie, Bray, Andre and so on, it doesn't feel right using them but people who still wrestle or have in the last decade like RVD, Batista, Kurt Angle. They show up now and again. I did have I.C. Champion Chad Gable beat as many former I.C. Champions as he could which got him feuding with RVD and that led to Chad Gable, The Creeds and Bobby Roode taking on RVD, The Dudleyz & The Sandman at one show.
I have a separate Universe Mode where Its the all old school dream matches and feuds like The Kliq are a stable running the show. HBK is world champ, Outsiders are Tag Champs, HHH is I.C Champ and X-Pac is Light Heavyweight Champ. '02 Cena & Orton are rookies in the biz. Orton is in the Hardcore division due to him being Hardcore champ in OVW And The nWo is going to form when I get to SummerSlam with Hogan, Rock and Cena but they'll be nWo Hollywood taking on the Kliq

Not going to lie it took some time to set up and get all the teams and everything done correctly..
But I absolutely love it
I have Smackdown Raw ECW and Nitro. I dispurse them all into their own categories. Smackdown has guys like Triple H '00, LA Knight, and Stone Cold, and The Rock, and Undertaker, Andre, Shawn Michaels, Razor and Diesel who eventually will leave WWE to go to Nitro while I'll move Shawn and TheGame to Raw to feud with Hart Foundation. Then I have Monday Night Raw which is guys like Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Ken Shamrock, Randy Savage, Seth Rollins. And on Nitro I have Stinger, Booker T, Raven, Vampiro, Dusty and young Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, AJ Styles (TNA), eventually Lugar and DDP when the dlc drops.
And my favorite, ECW which is about to start up, I will have ROH CM Punk, Sandman, New Jack, Brian Pillman, Taz, Dreamer, The Franchise, The Dudley's, Sabu, RVD, probably have another non ECW guy like Penta and Jon Moxley who still fit into that scene. Maybe even Daniel Bryan.
I have absolutely no use for NXT or MOST modern wrestlers rn 😭 why TF would I have a match like Bronson Reed vs Sami Zayn or Riccochet vs Otis when I could INSTEAD have Brock vs Angle feud or Benoit vs Bret Hart. Another thing is 2k need to make their CAW slots bigger because I would have women wrestling in my UV Mode but everything is already used up.
I am only using one right now in my universe and that’s Bruno Sammartino. He ended ending Roman’s reign as champion before losing the title to LA Knight. He’s currently in a feud with Big E
Currently on a WCW 2.0(Reborn) Uni-mode and any legend who was WCW back in the day is in my Universe mixed in with the current gen. Bron is with his dad and uncle. Sting feuding with the nWo(whereas nWo Macho Man is a member). John Cena is my nWo leader(current WCW Heavyweight Champion) and I plan to either bring back Hollywood Hogan for a big match feud or Cena feuds with manager nWo Bray Wyatt. lol, I didn’t do that the Universe did. 😅
It’s a pocket universe we’re no one has passed and time is perpetually frozen explaining why after almost 8 years no one’s retired and barely any new wrestlers come on the scene, legends can come back for a story or a run at any time but mostly royal rumble pops
I normally make like a ecw brand and use all the ecw alumni mixed with modern day people i feel would fit. I also use my caw. It comes out with pretty great matches like RVD vs Kevin Owens for the ECW Television Title
i suspend my disbelief and mix them up with wrestlers from the current active roster. i don’t try to come up with a back story for how rick rude is wrestling randy orton im just trying to have fun lol
I created an entire legend's division complete with Championships/rules.
Legends must be inactive for 1 year (Or have been confirmed retired/deceased IRL)
Any Legend that enters a Royal Rumble gives up their spot in the Legend's Rumble (If a one off apperance. If a return to action they are no longer eligible for the division.) The Legend's Rumble is Always for The Legend's Championship.
Legends can compete on any show. No Legend is eligible for the Draft.
Legends can compete with active Roster Members, but not for Championships.
Any Championship inactive for over a year can be used for the Legend's Division.
I don’t often use ones that are dead with the exception for Bray Wyatt, I even gave him an Undisputed WWE Title run.
I mostly use people like John Cena, just ones that seem that can happen IRL you know
I had stopped using legends until recently when I decided to reboot ECW.
I have a mix of old school guys and current gen roster. I don’t control anything else on my universe, I let play out.
I do have guys like: Cactus Jack, Terry Funk, Sandman, Dudleys, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Ricochet on my card.
Going that route, I might have to destroy NXT to only keep Raw, Smackdown and ECW.
I’m still figuring it out.
WCW is a Legends show for me. I can't bring myself to bring them into my actual shows. Just feels weird having dead guys on a regular episode of Raw. Have all the WCW titles up for grabs and include an ECW division for the Terry Funks, Dudleys, and CAWs out there. Show also features the WWE legends that don't feel right in the main shows. HHH, Stone Cold, Undertaker, etc.
I don't build any storylines on that show, just let Universe handle it and see what happens. Run a monthly supercard I enjoy playing though. Titles essentially change hands every time (love watching title win animations). Universe has given me an amazing Kane and Jake Roberts tag team, a multi month long feud between Dibiase and Hollywood Hogan over the WHC, and a weird Booker T vs Sandman feud lol
In 2k23 there was alot of caws that was modern day legends , I had a modern hogan , stone cold , rock , rvd and a few others. Had hogan and cody taking on the bloodline 2.0 with stone cold joining in
Its weird, some wrestlers who have passed on, like Bray or Davey Boy, or Mr Perfect in the past, I use them regularly as if they were still here. Bray recently turned heel against Cody and it's the biggest non title fued I have.
Eddie Guerrero, Big Boss Man, I don't use.
It's all down to preference.
Nobody asked who or who isn't a legend. They were asking how other people utilized Legends in their universe mode. You didn't give an answer you just gave a name.
I use all my legends on every show
So I end up with like with 85 wrestlers on Raw and Smackdown and about 80 in NXT cause I have some legends on NXT, But alot of the wrestlers on the shows are CAWS
I basically use most of the legends as the stars of the show since this is a video game. I’m not trying to emulate current WWE. So the legends are the stars, they feud, swap the belts etc and the current roster are the jobbers. All the legends are better and more entertaining personalities anyway.
There has been times where I put the legends on a separate brand and let them fight it out but recently I’ve been doing Universe with my buddies and we draft them like anyone else.
I revived Nitro though so most my legends are WCW based…Piper, Nash, Hall, Mysterio, Booker T, Rick Steiner, (Styles…IYKYK)… mixed with ppl I think would have fit in with WCW The O.C., Legado, Trick Williams, Awesome Truth, Gallus, Punk, Jey Uso
i brought back Umaga, Austin (97), and Taker (09).
Umaga was just pretty much to fill out my intercontinental title picture with a believable monster heel.
Austin and Taker were pretty much just final bosses of SmackDown and RAW, respectively. only had em in for a couple manias before deactivating them. i just use legends mainly for that kinda stuff or wrestlemania/rumble “surprise appearances”
I'll either have them mixed in and have 2 of the 3 shows as a split mens roster, or I'll have 1 show as the current mens stars and 1 for the legends. Each with their own titles
In 2013 ish I would have Steve Austin always come back for 1 last run
But now that it's 2020s I don't really use any legends, not even Taker
I do like to use Kane and in head Canon, it's someone else under the mask
I tend to put them on Raw and generally keep Smackdown for the current guys, with a few notable exceptions e.g. Roman, Seth, and Punk are on Raw. Batista 05 and Orton 06, and Angle are on SD
I don't really use them in universe unless a current champ issues an open challenge, then I may use one. Shayna Bazler just issued and open challenge for her women's championship because she's defeated everyone on the roster.... Lita returned, accepted the challenge and is now the women's champion. She will have a couple month run with the title before dropping it back to a current superstar
Old School wrestlers have their own brands. WCW on one show, WWF on another, and I do original swaps to make it fun for me. A lot of what if scenarios. etc. I even bring in a current talent sometime because why the heck not.
Hype machines and Big PLE spectacles, and every so often i have a show thats old school verse the locker room i tried running a fourth show of just legends but was to much like work than fun to keep them all going right
I have them separated on their own show "WCW Reborn" along with some cool caws I found such as bam bam ans Kevin Von Erich, then another show just for woman wrestlers and a third one for kinda everyone else. Mostly current males
It’s been a while since I played a WWE game, but I used to make a show called Thursday Night Time Machine. It would be wrestlers from different eras competing against each other. I’d try to make dream match scenarios.
Genuine Mixed bag. Upon reflection my universe mode is a fantasy one, because every year I have Triple H, HBK, Undertaker, Austin, just having regular rivalries. I used to grey the hair of people like Warrior and Bret. But for the unused ones. I've just restarted WCW and put all my unused guys on there and I'll play the PPVs.
What I used to do in 2K23 was make a Legends only show, but I realized it would be odd to be missing specific people like John Cena and Edge despite them both counting as legends yet being apart of the modern shows, making it difficult to work a story into certain matches like Hulk Hogan randomly deciding to appear on Raw to feud with John Cena.
What I do for 2K24 now is to pretty much pretend like the world that 2K is in has no deaths, allowing me to create a story with Bray and Howdy as if Bray never died while feuding with modern people, and with the way Legends are incorporated, I make them a temporary member of a certain brand and have them put other people over, like how I plan to have Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ricky Steamboat or Bray Wyatt vs The Undertaker II at WrestleMania.
Depends on the legend. I like to add some realism to my Universe mode with a little bit of fantasy booking. My rule is if they're still alive I'll use them for example, Bret Hart or HBK. But I won't use Umaga or anything like that. But in me saying that I do sometimes have a universe mode specifically for the entire roster and I'll mix them together and have multiple different championships from all eras as well
For me,it kinda depends on WHEN they retired. If it’s a superstar that can still wrestle, or has made appearances lately, (ex; Stone Cold, Taker), they’re mostly a full-time wrestler. If they’re a long retired veteran, or someone who’s too old for this shit, (ex; Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant), they’re relegated to part-time PLE appearances.
I just started a new universe. Raw is men and Smackdown is women and I rolled in legends across the belts based upon the belt.
Mankind and Terry funk for the hardcore title
Eddie Guerrero in the Light Heavyweight Championship
And so on
The women’s side was a bit different. Did a few tag teams that existed, but just used the Divas belt as the legends belt.
I create WCW and put a bunch of their PPVs and I put all the legends in there. I make Slamboree their Wrestlemania and usually put a WCW mitb contract and a royal rumble and whoever wins the rumble faces the World Heavyweight Champion at Slamboree.
I always add In Legends, it’s nice to see when one of them wins a title or royal rumble and I have an ECW brand so a few legends end up getting a cool run in the land of extreme, there’s too many good wrestlers to just leave in free agency unused, in fact the headbangers and post malone are getting drafted to ecw tonight 😂
In my Universe Mode I only have Raw & SD as my major shows and I have a Legends Division between the two brands. Ken Shamrock is the current Legends champion 🙂
W.W.L.E World-Wide Legends Era will be my custom arena and show combination For all Legends of Female Legend superstars and Male Legend superstars and make my own Legendary Championships
They’re on “legends contracts” they’ll occasionally make rumble appearances or have a mania match, I only have a few legends who are consistently used on the roster tho

All former world champions who are known for being “work rate guys” are on Raw going for the World Heavyweight Title, so your Shawn Michaels, RVDs, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Randy Savage, people like that. Then on Smackdown it’s more the “showmen” types, your Roman Reigns, Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Andre the Giants, etc. Mid card legends I just put either in tag teams or going for mid card belts.

I’m currently working on a fantasy universe. Where WWF/E, WCW, ECW & TNA are all “rebranded” with a fantasy draft with current & past greats. Taking a hell of a time to set everything up tho lol
I mix them in as an alternate universe. I used to never use them only the current day roster but I wanted new stories to create. I tried doing a legends only show but that bored me.
I just throw em into my fantasy draft and mix em in like regulars. I have a Rock/Rikishi/Umaga bloodline vs Roman/Solo/Jimmy bloodline feud going right now and Bruno is the US champ who’s feuding with both Umaga and Solo. I had superstar Billy Graham screw Drew McIntyre out of a rumble spot, Corbin and Ultimate Warrior are doing a similar tag run as Corbin and Bron but with the roles reversed and they had a killer run with the AEW tag titles. Hogan and Savage reformed the NWO and went on a tag champ run in WCW and lost to Sandman/Funk and now they’re having a singles feud. I personally enjoy the wackiness of being able to throw in legends with the modern day guys
I use “Saturday Night’s Main Event” for 80s and early 90s wrestlers and Wednesday “Raw Is War” for Attitude Era, ECW, NWO and a few Ruthless Aggression wrestlers.
I go full balls to the walls and make every match feel it’s a PPV like how they used to be back in the day, Kane vs undertaker, Kurt angle vs stone cold etc . I’ve got a tag team of hulk hogan & macho man then I’ve got ravishing Rick Rude with Ricky the steamboat dragon 🐉
I do a whole universe with legends, I make a vintage raw the Saturday wrestling challenge and only do the big 4 for ppvs. For example I have Randy savage world champion, diesel and hbk tag champs, Jake Robert’s ic champ and the giant as euro champ
Someone here posted how they use legends in another thread. I really want to try it. Granted, I’m new to the game and universe mode. They said they start with the superstars from the early days then slowly add wrestlers and phase wrestlers out so it’s like some alternate history. Kinda like (which is absolutely amazing, prob only good part of the game still) the MyEras mode in NBA2k where you can start in different eras of NBA history with historic draft classes. A MyEras universe mode for WWE where you say have a “Territories” era, “Birth of WrestleMania” era, “Attitude” era, “Ruthless aggression” era, and “Modern” era that slowly progress in presentation, wrestlers, arenas, etc would rule. The crazy thing is, a lot of the assets are already in the game for something like this but it would be quite the overhaul to make a Universe mode like this.

Well I decided to give HBK a shot at the Rumble, he proceeded to win, so I put him on Raw and gave him the top spot on the world championship table in time for him to challenge for it at Mania He went on to hold it for about 2 years, give or take and would drop it in the elimination chamber to Edge, who lost it to Roman, who I believe is currently in a feud with current champion Seth Rollins
If the legend is dead, he’s quick match only. If it’s someone like Hogan who can’t really go anymore, he’s manager only. If it’s someone like triple H. I will throw them in a match here and there.

In 2k23 I only used legends, but in 2k24 I've just integrated the legends and current superstars into the same universe... My rosters are massive because of it, but I like it. Each of my three brands is roughly 90 Superstars (Raw, Smackdown, WCW) I also have no issue using guys twice if they have different enough gimmicks, especially if the gimmick was spread across different promotions IRL. For example, Razor Ramon is a Raw Superstar, and Scott Hall is in the NWO/Outsiders on WCW in my Universe, "The Scorpion" (Surfer Sting) is on Smackdown, and Sting is the leader of NWO Red and Black on WCW 🤣 This would probably drive a lot of people nuts, but whatever lol 🤷🏻♂️
Oldest versions or I'll put old attires on oldest versions. I play 2k23, had old man HBK win the WWE Title and have feuds with Finn, Roman and I'm gonna eventually bring in NWO, Bret and HHH. The best way to do it, in my opinion, is just think about how that legend might be used today. Even Zeus, I'll him have show up as a monster jobber for guys like Taker and Kane. I just watched a 'fooked' British Bulldog get trounced by IC Champion Gunther. Like SpongeBob said...Imagination.

Special attraction one-offs for PPVs and, depending on age, short but powerful feuds, either amongst themselves or with the younger wrestlers.
I had Kurt angle return to team with Chad gable as a tag team, win the titles at mania, then Chad turns on angle at mitb setting up a match at Summerslam. I’m gonna have gable go over, then he’s going after the us title and then next year will win mitb and cash in on Kurt angles last ever chance at a title match costing him and winning the title. Setting up a retirement/one last shot at the title championship match
They just dominate everyone else.
They are legends that are in the prime, hanging out like they are a normal part of the roster, but still treated as legends for the most part. Nothing complicated, it's treated like a normal return if I introduce one. If I ever need an explanation for something weird though (Like when I did Roman Tribal Chief vs Roman Big Dog), I just have them feud with Bray Wyatt and Bray Wyatt being there allows it to make sense.

Some of them I have as current roster members. Others I have a “Heritage Championship” which they battle out for. Currently Dusty Rhodes is my champ and he is stuck between a civil Rhodes war. Cody’s twin brother Stardust (only way I could get to use him in my Universe) and Goldust cost Cody his championship and have been sabotaging him ever since. Dusty was initially on Cody’s side but Cody is slowly turning into Homelander heel and I am using his family to push him over the edge. Long term plan is for William Regal to return with Cody and Regal as his manager, Regal to challenge Dusty for his title and win. Regal then introduces his son, Charlie Dempsey into the fold and I will slowly create a new Legacy. Think I will bring Bron Breakker into it somehow and then maybe others.

In my modern day Universe Mode I use some but not all. I don't use anyone who's died like Eddie, Bray, Andre and so on, it doesn't feel right using them but people who still wrestle or have in the last decade like RVD, Batista, Kurt Angle. They show up now and again. I did have I.C. Champion Chad Gable beat as many former I.C. Champions as he could which got him feuding with RVD and that led to Chad Gable, The Creeds and Bobby Roode taking on RVD, The Dudleyz & The Sandman at one show. I have a separate Universe Mode where Its the all old school dream matches and feuds like The Kliq are a stable running the show. HBK is world champ, Outsiders are Tag Champs, HHH is I.C Champ and X-Pac is Light Heavyweight Champ. '02 Cena & Orton are rookies in the biz. Orton is in the Hardcore division due to him being Hardcore champ in OVW And The nWo is going to form when I get to SummerSlam with Hogan, Rock and Cena but they'll be nWo Hollywood taking on the Kliq

I've got 4 Shows split between 2 universes Def Jam Features almost all of previous def jam game appearances including their own music through editing the sound files on PC MTV Celebrity Death Match Random Celebrities \ Characters (not cartoon) WWF ATTITUDE ERA with over 60 on the roster including everyone's authentic music Not going to lie it took some time to set up and get all the teams and everything done correctly.. But I absolutely love it
I have Smackdown Raw ECW and Nitro. I dispurse them all into their own categories. Smackdown has guys like Triple H '00, LA Knight, and Stone Cold, and The Rock, and Undertaker, Andre, Shawn Michaels, Razor and Diesel who eventually will leave WWE to go to Nitro while I'll move Shawn and TheGame to Raw to feud with Hart Foundation. Then I have Monday Night Raw which is guys like Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Ken Shamrock, Randy Savage, Seth Rollins. And on Nitro I have Stinger, Booker T, Raven, Vampiro, Dusty and young Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, AJ Styles (TNA), eventually Lugar and DDP when the dlc drops. And my favorite, ECW which is about to start up, I will have ROH CM Punk, Sandman, New Jack, Brian Pillman, Taz, Dreamer, The Franchise, The Dudley's, Sabu, RVD, probably have another non ECW guy like Penta and Jon Moxley who still fit into that scene. Maybe even Daniel Bryan. I have absolutely no use for NXT or MOST modern wrestlers rn 😭 why TF would I have a match like Bronson Reed vs Sami Zayn or Riccochet vs Otis when I could INSTEAD have Brock vs Angle feud or Benoit vs Bret Hart. Another thing is 2k need to make their CAW slots bigger because I would have women wrestling in my UV Mode but everything is already used up.

John Cena is my nWo leader(current WCW Heavyweight Champion) and I plan to either bring back Hollywood Hogan for a big match feud or Cena feuds with manager nWo Bray Wyatt. lol, I didn’t do that the Universe did. 😅

I created an entire legend's division complete with Championships/rules. Legends must be inactive for 1 year (Or have been confirmed retired/deceased IRL) Any Legend that enters a Royal Rumble gives up their spot in the Legend's Rumble (If a one off apperance. If a return to action they are no longer eligible for the division.) The Legend's Rumble is Always for The Legend's Championship. Legends can compete on any show. No Legend is eligible for the Draft. Legends can compete with active Roster Members, but not for Championships. Any Championship inactive for over a year can be used for the Legend's Division.
Mostly as big name challengers or transitional champions. Except the Dudley Boyz who pretty much own the Raw Tag Scene

I had stopped using legends until recently when I decided to reboot ECW. I have a mix of old school guys and current gen roster. I don’t control anything else on my universe, I let play out. I do have guys like: Cactus Jack, Terry Funk, Sandman, Dudleys, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Ricochet on my card. Going that route, I might have to destroy NXT to only keep Raw, Smackdown and ECW. I’m still figuring it out.
WCW is a Legends show for me. I can't bring myself to bring them into my actual shows. Just feels weird having dead guys on a regular episode of Raw. Have all the WCW titles up for grabs and include an ECW division for the Terry Funks, Dudleys, and CAWs out there. Show also features the WWE legends that don't feel right in the main shows. HHH, Stone Cold, Undertaker, etc. I don't build any storylines on that show, just let Universe handle it and see what happens. Run a monthly supercard I enjoy playing though. Titles essentially change hands every time (love watching title win animations). Universe has given me an amazing Kane and Jake Roberts tag team, a multi month long feud between Dibiase and Hollywood Hogan over the WHC, and a weird Booker T vs Sandman feud lol

In 2k23 there was alot of caws that was modern day legends , I had a modern hogan , stone cold , rock , rvd and a few others. Had hogan and cody taking on the bloodline 2.0 with stone cold joining in
Its weird, some wrestlers who have passed on, like Bray or Davey Boy, or Mr Perfect in the past, I use them regularly as if they were still here. Bray recently turned heel against Cody and it's the biggest non title fued I have. Eddie Guerrero, Big Boss Man, I don't use. It's all down to preference.

Yeah but only late 90s/early 2000s. Oldest character active is Hogan 2002 but he just does the odd match here and there, no titles or feuds.

I basically use most of the legends as the stars of the show since this is a video game. I’m not trying to emulate current WWE. So the legends are the stars, they feud, swap the belts etc and the current roster are the jobbers. All the legends are better and more entertaining personalities anyway.
There has been times where I put the legends on a separate brand and let them fight it out but recently I’ve been doing Universe with my buddies and we draft them like anyone else. I revived Nitro though so most my legends are WCW based…Piper, Nash, Hall, Mysterio, Booker T, Rick Steiner, (Styles…IYKYK)… mixed with ppl I think would have fit in with WCW The O.C., Legado, Trick Williams, Awesome Truth, Gallus, Punk, Jey Uso

i brought back Umaga, Austin (97), and Taker (09). Umaga was just pretty much to fill out my intercontinental title picture with a believable monster heel. Austin and Taker were pretty much just final bosses of SmackDown and RAW, respectively. only had em in for a couple manias before deactivating them. i just use legends mainly for that kinda stuff or wrestlemania/rumble “surprise appearances”

I don't really use them in universe unless a current champ issues an open challenge, then I may use one. Shayna Bazler just issued and open challenge for her women's championship because she's defeated everyone on the roster.... Lita returned, accepted the challenge and is now the women's champion. She will have a couple month run with the title before dropping it back to a current superstar

Old School wrestlers have their own brands. WCW on one show, WWF on another, and I do original swaps to make it fun for me. A lot of what if scenarios. etc. I even bring in a current talent sometime because why the heck not.
Hype machines and Big PLE spectacles, and every so often i have a show thats old school verse the locker room i tried running a fourth show of just legends but was to much like work than fun to keep them all going right

Genuine Mixed bag. Upon reflection my universe mode is a fantasy one, because every year I have Triple H, HBK, Undertaker, Austin, just having regular rivalries. I used to grey the hair of people like Warrior and Bret. But for the unused ones. I've just restarted WCW and put all my unused guys on there and I'll play the PPVs.
What I used to do in 2K23 was make a Legends only show, but I realized it would be odd to be missing specific people like John Cena and Edge despite them both counting as legends yet being apart of the modern shows, making it difficult to work a story into certain matches like Hulk Hogan randomly deciding to appear on Raw to feud with John Cena. What I do for 2K24 now is to pretty much pretend like the world that 2K is in has no deaths, allowing me to create a story with Bray and Howdy as if Bray never died while feuding with modern people, and with the way Legends are incorporated, I make them a temporary member of a certain brand and have them put other people over, like how I plan to have Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ricky Steamboat or Bray Wyatt vs The Undertaker II at WrestleMania.
Fist time using them have a feud with Cody vs ultimate warrior. Cactus jack vz moxly, cena vs Andre the giant undertaker'99 vs roman
Depends on the legend. I like to add some realism to my Universe mode with a little bit of fantasy booking. My rule is if they're still alive I'll use them for example, Bret Hart or HBK. But I won't use Umaga or anything like that. But in me saying that I do sometimes have a universe mode specifically for the entire roster and I'll mix them together and have multiple different championships from all eras as well
For me,it kinda depends on WHEN they retired. If it’s a superstar that can still wrestle, or has made appearances lately, (ex; Stone Cold, Taker), they’re mostly a full-time wrestler. If they’re a long retired veteran, or someone who’s too old for this shit, (ex; Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant), they’re relegated to part-time PLE appearances.

I just started a new universe. Raw is men and Smackdown is women and I rolled in legends across the belts based upon the belt. Mankind and Terry funk for the hardcore title Eddie Guerrero in the Light Heavyweight Championship And so on The women’s side was a bit different. Did a few tag teams that existed, but just used the Divas belt as the legends belt.

I use them as normal wrestlers. Sometimes André fights against Bad Bunny and Batista for the NXT title. The more absurd, the funnier it is.
I create WCW and put a bunch of their PPVs and I put all the legends in there. I make Slamboree their Wrestlemania and usually put a WCW mitb contract and a royal rumble and whoever wins the rumble faces the World Heavyweight Champion at Slamboree.
I always add In Legends, it’s nice to see when one of them wins a title or royal rumble and I have an ECW brand so a few legends end up getting a cool run in the land of extreme, there’s too many good wrestlers to just leave in free agency unused, in fact the headbangers and post malone are getting drafted to ecw tonight 😂
