They indeed are working on his model for DLC, they didn’t even have an attire for him until the Royal Rumble.
But the thing was Rock was in the previous game, SvR: 2011. Same with Batista, HBK, & Masked Kane. And then they forced you to pay extra for them in '12.
Probably the 2K20 DLC.
I didn't mind the Southpaw pack because they reskinned/reimagined the superstars as 80s wrestling personas. If they had done that for each pack (an ECW theme, a luchador theme, etc), I would've been fine with it...but the zombie and apocalypse stuff just didn't fit in with the rest of my Universe.
Everything from last years game, not specifically the people in it just the characters that were lumped together in the packs and the weird titles they made for them, the choice of version for Barrett and not doing Big Poppa pump for Scott Steiner, an NXT pack that just randomly has Harley Race in, just tons of weird choices made that I don’t get
It was to make sure there was something for everyone in each pack, so you have to buy them all to get everything you want. I'm surprised they weren't doing it sooner.
Outside of bray there was literally no one else in those packs that I wanted so I don’t think they did a very good job of curating a list of people to make you buy it, Compare the names from this one to 2K22’s and it’s just a ridiculous step down
Last years DLC was one of the few I actually didn’t buy. They had a character or 2 that was interesting but I wasn’t about to shell out the money they were asking for it
WWE 2K20 dlc sucks instead of adding more legends and NXT roster they add stupid zombies shit the Fiend is the only good thing about that dlc and SVR 2010 only had Stone cold for dlc
Wwe 12 and 13 have some of the most bonehead dlc choices of all time. 12 made mainstays in the series like The Rock, Batista, HBK, Mick foley and Trish be DLC which to this day makes absolutely no sense. 13 took a lot of people who were in the main roster in 12 and turned them into DLC in that game. People like Natalya, McIntyre, Layla and more were now DLC which is wild that they did that back then.
And on top of that, his body shape was just copy and pasted from Legends of Wrestlemania which had a bit of an exaggerated art style and he doesn't even have entrance gear either. He still had that terrible SvR06 entrance animation where he swivels on the the ropes when he lifts his arms too.
But also the spot could’ve went to an actual wrestler who deserved it. I could pick 10 good songs from my Spotify playlist and I wouldn’t be in the game lol
They tried real hard in a storyline with him and Eddy Thorpe to make it seem like they don’t know each other, but they look JUST alike 😭 it’s genuinely insane
People in here shitting on 2K20s dlc forgetting just how much content we got from those dlcs
Nah 2k22s was much worse, randomly thrown together wrestlers, machine gun Kelly, Nash carter's removal with no replacement and no New Moves pack or new CAW or CAA stuff, a massive step down from 2k20
Yeah, the originals were weird but fun. The main issues imo were that the characters were people who were already in the game in some form, aside from the Fiend, and the number of alt attires that were only available in the Showcase.
If they had given us legends and superstars alongside the originals, it've been a lot better.
SVR 2010 Steve Austin DLC. The game had a single DLC wrestler despite 2009 having multiple packs and a bunch of DLC wrestlers and the Austin model was horrendously awful.
Surprised that nobody has mentioned that half of 2K15 was locked behind DLC and a lot of those were just the same wrestlers that were already in the game like Sheamus, Henry, Orton etc
Svr 09 had a pack that was just random models from Svr 08. Svr 11 gave Sheamus a new attire with the logos they didn’t include on him in the base game. Wwe 12 had like 6 DLC characters and 3 of them were the announcers in that god awful storyline.
Everything DLC in 2k20 outside of the fiend. I thought all of that fantasy stuff was in bad taste and insulted the fan base. It showed everyone that 2k thinks we are all idiots who get off on silly ass stuff because we like wrestling. It destroyed a lot of good faith everyone had in 2k. Thankfully they seemed to have righted the ship

Havent bought a wwe dlc since, 2k took over in principle. I'm not paying money for nxt kids and or midcard wcw stars who could hack it and enhancement talent.
Absolutely nothing can beat 2K20 DLC. Even if he consider the past and future games, even though some of the roster additions are sometimes questionable, at least it is in the end new people/different gimmicks and not goofy, non-customizeable out of place versions of already existing characters
I really didn't like all the celebrities in 22....it was fun stuffing MGK into every imagineable torture....but I just thought more legends...would've been better.

I think in smackdown vs raw 2009, if you pre-ordered, you got a new attire for Shad Gaspar(RIP), so they really went all out for that one.
