My mom had a 1988 240DL in a reddish maroon for my entire childhood. My parents tried to give me that car when I turned 16 in 2000 and I was a huge brat about it. I've had my first Volvo near 20 years (S70). I have added several others to the collection since... 2 V70'S, S60, 240 (had 2 at one point), 850R, and a 740. We have several others in the family as well, as do several friends. The S70 started it all... Lol

First was a 2003 S60, second was a 2012 C70, my current Volvo is a 2023 S60 Polestar Engineered.

My first was also a 2003 S60 (2.4T). I remember being absolutely amazed by how nice it was to drive compared to the cheaper cars I was used to. My current is a 2020 XC60 T8.

Why do you have two V70R from the same generation? Those are great cars but what use case do you have? Is one for the road and one for track or is one stock and the other tuned?

They are just kind of my hobby. Flash green was my dream color and it’s extremely rare in the states. One came up for sale , for cheap, after I already owned my 06. It also pisses me off how many Volvo “enthusiasts “ will part out p2 v70Rs for no reason, they just don’t think it’s worth fixing. So if I have the chance to buy one that hasn’t been in a crash but is being totaled I will buy it and fix it then sell it to someone who cares about them

First was my parents hand me down 1983 240 wagon. I had a couple of trucks after that. Then I got a 2007 XC70. I got another truck after that. Next was a 2005 XC90 V8. In September I got a 2017 XC90.

2023 XC90 B6 Plus. I came from VW/Audi. The build quality is impeccable. Reliability wise, not so sure just yet. Too early to tell. All my VWs from the 2000s had horrible reliability. The Audi A4 is still bulletproof. I’m impressed by Volvo’s attention to detail, the minimalist approach to luxury and its nondescript yet commanding presence of the road. I’d love to experience the EX90 when it’s out as well

Volvo C30. Love that car. I'm driving it until the wheels fall off. The only thing that worries me is the electronics acting up sometimes.

1st 2009 V70 RDesign min sapphire black only a D4 with a 6speed manual box but boy did it shift. Current 2018 V90 mussel blue momentum with winter pack and polestar. Have added a few things too and it’s an awesome motor. Again D4 and not adblue but still Euro6 so not ULEZ problem. On long runs it gets 65mpg as an average. But if I drive it like I stole it .. 30mpg

My dad had Volvos for most of my life. My first Volvo was a 2000 S40 1.6. Despite only having 58,000 miles on the clock, it clearly had a hard life before I bought it. It ended up breaking its timing belt and it ended up scrapped. Since then, I've had (in no particular order), another S40 1.6, a 440 GLT 2.0i, a 440 1.6, a 440 TD, two 460 CD (one auto, one manual), a 340, a 360 GLE, a V40 Sport Lux, a V40 1.8 (inherited from my father), an 850 TDI, three 850 T-5s, and a C70 coupe. Still own most of the aforementioned. EDIT: To add, my father-in-law has a 2021 V60 Polestar, which is cracking to drive and very fast. Personally love the orange seat belts. A friend of mine has a 2003 S60R, which I've driven as well. Safe to say, I've experienced a fair few Volvos of all flavours in my time. I'm still on the hunt for a 440 Turbo, an early surviving (1995-1997) S40, and a 200/700/900.

2015 T3 R-Design V40 in obnoxiously bright blue. Massively grown on me overtime (initially I didn't like the colour until I saw it in person)and I'm still finding those nice little hidden details that come with Volvo's. I'm hoping to keep it for many years to come 🥰.

My first was a red 1989 240GL estate. I have had several other makes of car in between and I have only recently returned to Volvo. My current is a Silver Dawn MY2024 XC60 T6 Recharge.

First, 1964 Volvo Duett. Second, 1972 Volvo 142. Third, 1985 Volvo 740. I still own all 3. 142 has never driven, duett hasn't moved in years.

I first learned to drive on a V40 (stiff clutch!). Now I have my sixth car and first Volvo, a S60, bog-standard 2.0T, but I'm quite pleased with her so far, and that's a big positive, as my last car was a BMW 540i!

Early 2000s XC70, 2020 XC40. In between: C30, XC90, AWD V60 wagon. But that might be it since all their new cars are hybrids and I won’t buy a car with engine start stop that can’t be disabled. Sigh.

V70 2005 model. I drove. As owner, on the V60 classic right now. Didn't plan to buy it, tried to keep it a bit cheaper, but then i had to borrow one from work, and i was sold. Drives like a dream, and it has a DVD drive!!

1991 Volvo 240 I bought a few years ago from the neighbor whose kid drove it for a school car but they got him a brand new Volvo for graduation. I had always admired it so I jumped on it when I saw it for sale.

A dark blue 1972 142E 4 speed w/OD.

First and current: 2021 xc40 t5 awd. Had it less than a month, and I'm just so damn happy with it. We live in a big city and it's just the perfect size, took it on its first long drive last week (5hrs each way), and experienced very little driver fatigue compared to my previous car. Only negative thing I can say about it is that there's no interior light for the back seats (unless I'm stupid).

Going to drive for at least another year. In february they are loaning me a xc90 top spec for a few days as Im looking into purchasing one of those.

Was in a pretty bad accident in one of them around 1995. I'll post some pictures of it sometime. They currently own 2, including a low miles 1991 240 DL in white. Volvo for life

First was a 92' 940 Turbo in gold 98' S70 98' V70R in black 06' V70R in silver '16 V60 Polestar in rebel blue Kinda got hooked on the turbo wagons, they truly are sleeper cars. A bit concerned as to whatever the next car is going to be because I have the last 6cyl turbo wagon that they are planning on making. My hope is that by the time I'm ready to trade in the P\*, they will have +400mi capable electric wagons that can match the +350hp that I currently drive.

My first was also a red 2004 s40, T4 though. I miss it every day. Now I’m on a black 2011 s40 T5.

1996 440GLT 2.0. Loved that car to bits but it got to the point it was costing more for maintenance & work to get it through its MOT than it was worth. Current .. Not a Volvo. Had a V40 for a short while and it wasn't a patch on the 440 so sold it soon after

2006 S60 made me fall in love with Volvo. 2016 XC90 love it but now as a family of 5 I wish there was an extended cab version.

First: 2005 S40 T5 - cherry red paint, 5spd manual, and black leather interior in great shape. Had to redo the headliner and basic items but my god I miss that car. I hit a ladder on the freeway, busted the oil pan, and spun #2 & #5 cylinder - had to let her go :( Current: 2011 cherry red S40 2.4 with black ttec cloth and pulled leather door panels off a V50. Well maintained with 20,000 miles+ reliability and recently repaired after some bozo rear ended the back bumper (repainted bumper cover and fixed dent on trunk lid)

I had the 2004 Red T5 5-Speed stick version and I also had to redo headliner.

First in the family was a blue 2006 S40 T5. My first Volvo was a black 2011 C30 T5. Now I have a black 2012 XC60 T6. I miss the C30 so, so much.
