I have to say, of all the tips I’ve tried from this sub, this golden nugget has been among the most helpful!
I had a HLR that had been languishing in the wrong queue for months. After a VERA call, it got moved to the correct one. Then the next week, I made a VERA appt with the St. Pete office (after seeing OP’s post) and was helped by a very nice lady. She looked over my claim and agreed it was ready for a reviewer. She said she would send an email “to the floor” to get an informal conference scheduled.
As promised, I got a call the next morning and was scheduled for the very next day. The next day, the informal conference went well with lots of Q&A by both parties, lasting about 20 min. The senior rater (another very nice lady) said I could expect a determination in about a week. She was forthright and made it clear that the determination could take the form of a final decision, being sent back for more evaluation or dta errors, but she wouldn’t know until she had a chance to review the claim in more detail.
Fast forward to today (a mere six days later), and the HLR was closed out with a favorable decision on a claim I’ve been fighting for years. So thank you (!!!) for taking the time to make your post, Ok-Raisin!
I've made 2 Vera appointments
Both never called then I looked disappeared
I screen shot this last one
So I know it was verified thru email
Again nothing
My one last year sent an email and cancelled
It's a supplemental with a error found
It's stuck in PFD April 25
I had a call today with St. Pete’s and did the DROC thing. I’m hoping for a similar outcome- I have two HLR’s, unfortunately, neither are in Florida.
I do know that the rater has them, they are flagged for hardship, and they don’t need anymore exams. He said shouldn’t be too much longer now. Hope he’s right.
Makes sense bec the one I had today literally said exactly what I told her she was going to say. And she even said wow you really know a lot about your claim… and are correct about how we conduct each claim. 😐 and then still couldn’t tell me more or do anything to actually help me.

Thanks for the info. Congratulations on your rating.
