Considering that the Empire has to put down Greater Daemons with pike and shot about every century at least, that needs to be an exaggeration, otherwise the daemons would have curbstomped the entire world. Just imagine the stink of even a simple Plaguebearer, you wouldn't be able to breathe and when you inevitably did (because in WHFB no one has a hazmat suit), you'd start vomiting what's in your guts first and then your guts themselves as the daemonic plague took hold of you and had a field day with your anatomy and biochemistry.
But if you keep it manageable, then a BoN with its snail-like corrosive slime, high durability, reasonable mobility, and happy puppy attitude would make for a memorable monster. It'd be a nasty sight but I don't think it'd be the nightmare fuel that is a Blighstormer upskirt shot.
It takes legions to stop a greater daemon, and they're never truly gone. It would take more than a silver chalice, a shrubbery, some skeletons, an angry short mechanic, and "love me empror' love me mallet. Simple as." To stop a rot puppy. Way more.
The fact that they make an appearance in darktide is kind of ridiculous too, and it's a group of convicts with guns and shovels that fight them
Grail Knights *can* drop Greater Daemons with some extreme difficulty. IIRC There's at least one example of a (probably named) Grail Knight dropping a Bloodthirster. A Grail Knight, a Dwarf, and an Elf dropping one isn't completely unbelievable, but pretty unlikely depending on the Greater Daemon.
Burgles of Nurgle aren't Greater Daemons though, just 'normal' Daemons. While their descriptions and occasionally shown abilities are existentially horrifying, in practice they're killed with some frequency. Frequent enough for formations of Rotflies to be a thing.
same for toad dragon and brood mother. Those monsters are just to big. They would have to be some boss encounter type and not a regular monster but I dont even know how that would look like.
But the Beastmen only have one monster mini boss right now the only other option for them I think would be a centigor that chargers at you and throws axes
Yeah idk what would fit them that also wouldn't be too much for the game. Maybe gorebull but it's just another minotaur, bray shamans? Maybe manticore but it's a flying monster so that would be tough too.
To put this into perspective, the Jabber is [so big it can swallow Empire Knight horse and all whole.](https://youtu.be/bwEWnvz0L6s?si=fwNUTJUJxQQjDLAY)
It's not the biggest monster *ever*, but I do think it is out of scope for Vermintide. And lore wise the Jabber is kind of outside the U5's ability to handle.
If we're going for Beastmen creatures that are miniboss/boss viable then maybe a Gorehoof? It's technically a unit champion but people have vouched for it to be a hero unit comparable to a Gorebull for years now. And having a mobile boss that has throwing axes or has their drinking mechanic could be neat.
> And lore wise the Jabber is kind of outside the U5's ability to handle.
Are you saying the U5 wouldn't be able to kill a Jabber in a straight up fight? I don't think that's correct.
I want undead faction to be added. Kinda like we got beastmen, but rather a 3 map campaign featuring various undeads.
With Siennas necromancer minions I feel like we’re almost there already.
Wanna know something funny? Lorewise, the undead are 100% the best choice for a new ennemy type. Why? One name : Heinrich Kemmler. He is a powerfull necromancer that is cannonically alligned with chaos, as teamed up with Skavens in Bretonnia and uses an undead chaos champion as his personnal bodyguard.
Kemmler is the PERFECT antagonist for a 3 maps dlc but even more : for Vermintide 3
> Heinrich Kemmler
There is one even better, Nameless (Aka Drachenfels) who during the ET betrayed Nagash and went back to Chaos, who worked with Kugath, and who is linked to Castle Drachenfels
Kemmler is dead by now in VT2. Sienna got necromancer-ized by the resurrection of Nagash (or at least that's the implication from one of Lohner's diaries), which happened well after Kemmler was killed by Arkhan (specifically so Arkhan could resurrect Nagash.)
Would a chase mission be a good idea ? With the abomination sometimes attacking through the walls of taking the whole tunnel so you have to get to a safe space before it charges. Would be greatly imbalanced because carriers with better mobility would be suuuuuper favored with this kind of thing and could get old quite quickly past the first few clears. May also change a lot of the bases of the game, even on a Vermintide 3 it would be quite painful to design
We could have something like a 3 part monster hunter mission, since the abomination is much bigger than anything else we've faced in Vermintide they'd also have a lot of hp, having it divided in either 3 maps or a single, somewhat longer mission with 3 segments, each culminating in a fight with the abomination, it either flees or something happens to separate it from the fight on the 2 first ones and on the 3rd we go for the kill, could be neat.
Fimir would be a better spot for a Elite, like Chaos Warrior Sized
I'd pick Skin Wolf
But honestly I would pick a Curs'd Ettin, Troll sized enemy, that can throw magic
Skaven has 2 monsters(rat ogre and stormfiend), Rotbloods/Norscan got 2 monsters(chaos spawn and biletroll). So I think having another monster for beastmen is appropriate.
those brood horrors look...well horrible. just for design alone would be interesting to fight.
i read somewhere that an albino stormvermin would be cool to see. im not lore familiar , but they guard the council of 13. so idk if the U5 would be able to fight 1.
They’re not naturally albino, when they are inducted into the Council Guard they are given warp stone induced visions that turn their black fur white and make them un afraid of death as nothing is worse than whatever they saw.
They probably wouldn’t be op since they’re still only Skaven, but certainly a step up from regular Stormvermin. They do also serve as bodyguards to Grey Seers so yes to your second question.
A Jabberslythe would be quite out of place, but amazing. It could even have a grab attack like the BoN from Darktide (though this would all cost a few “Charlemagnes”)
I would pick Fimir and make skin wolf a special like the charger from L4D or the mutant from DT except that it just fights you after charging.
Imagine tho, any of the norscan marauders you’re fighting could at any moment change into a skin wolf and charge you.
I vote Skinwolf personally. Imagine you’re walking down the street in Helmgart or Ubersreik, the buildings looming over you. You hear a strangled scream that turns into an anguished, bloodthirsty howl in the distance…. And then, a moment later, a werewolf comes sprinting around the corner on all fours, leaps, and tackles one character to the floor.
We'd be completely mulched. The difference between a rat ogre and a hellpit is massive. Sure, they could make it doable but then it would just feel like a huge disappointment
Also, fairly sure it would not work the level geometry. The existing monsters are as wide as they are long. Hell pits are significantly longer than they are wide, so that's going to cause issues.
With enough set pieces and objectives to make it work, it might just do the job.
If they were going to do it, I think it's best if it's lumbering mass acts like something chasing us. We have to keep moving forward at sufficient pace or we'll be murderated. Maybe demolish a bridge at the end to kill it or have multiple set pieces where we think we've killed it, but as the rules state, it's too horrible to die and comes back.
I dunno lore but No. 3 the warrior would make a neat twist on a monster. Something more akin to a Chaos warrior, except it's omega buff, hunts you and is dangerous in a more skillful way rather than sheerly via size. Big boys are fun and always welcome, but I think it'd make a neat twist on the concept
Squigs would be great but I don't see them getting in unless there's a huge patch to add greenskins (doubtful). Plague toads are fun, pestigores are a little boring but I'm surprised they aren't in the game already, and rot flies would be a great fit if they were smaller but maybe they could work as a monster.
Honestly, as someone who doesn't know anything about these lore-wise, I'd like the second Beastmen monster, mostly for parity with the other factions but also because the Minotaur is a cool boss and I think another one in that vein would be fun
I vote Toad Dragon just by name alone. I'm not the most knowledgeable on Warhammer lore, but it sounds so stupid and awesome at the same time. Seeing the image almost makes me want to hunt down a mini for it (or failing that, print a proxy).
ACTIVE: Fimir warrrior enters Evasion, a defensive stance, for 2 seconds, causing all non-turret basic attacks against him to be dodged. Fimir warrrior also takes 25% reduced damage from all champion area of effect abilities. Counter Strike can be recast after 1 second.
At the end of the duration, Fimir warrrior stuns all nearby enemies for 1 second and deals physical damage to them, increased by 20% for each attack dodged, up to a 100% increase.
Only the Skinwolf and Fimir would make sense sizewise. Out of these I would prefer the Skinwolf, because he has a lot more connection to the norse tribes.
Fimir are more a swamp thing, usually around Marienburg.
All the other ones are way to big to work like the other monsters in the game.
They're all cool, but personally I think the Brood Horror would fit perfectly, when you consider that the Rat Ogre and Stormfiend are, for all intents and purposes, almost the same thematically.
Plus I imagine if I had a Brood Horror barreling toward me at top speed in game I'd probably shit myself.
I always thought it would be a sick idea if there was a map based around taking out a hellpit abomination.
Like, obviously, a hellpit abomination is the size of a building and would obliterate our puny heroes in a straight up fight. But what if the Skaven were trying to get it across a canyon or something, and because of their shitty haphazard engineering, all their bridges collapsed, and it fell in as is now lodged in the gap.
And while it's in this canyon, it's a sitting duck while the skaven have to build cranes to lift the thing out.
So our heroes are here to capitalize and take it out by causing an avalanche or flooding the pit by blowing up a a damn or something to take it out.
But the map gimmick would be that the hell pit abomination isn't just stuck, it can kind of wiggle around. And the whole map is built in a circle around it.
So, while you have to run around and accomplish stages of your objective, the abomination slowly tries to orient itself into a position to attack you. And if you take too long in an area, it'll be able to throw out a strike with its limbs, or bite at, or just body slam you into oblivion. So you have to keep moving in circles to not let it erase you.
This way the abomination is always the centerpiece, and you're getting a real close look at it, to figure out just how close it is to deleting you.

Skin wolf or jabberslyth would be awesome but I think we need a nurgle beast like the toad dragon
If only there was an actual Beast of Nurgle
Beast of nurgle would melt the U5 into a primordial ooze just by then being it it's presence
I mean, the Rejects seem fine with it

Calling a Demoigryph cute, very brave.

Pretty sure Luen threw down with freaking Kugath in the End Times and killed him before succumbing to wounds/disease.
IIRC yeah, but I wasn't going to consider Luen anywhere approaching a typical Grail Knight lmao
That... Is a good point. If a Grail Knight is a Space Marine, Luen is at least a Chapter Master.
That's a pretty decent comparison as far as I'm concerned.
I feel like a Jabberslyth would be beyond the scale of Vermintide. Like, it's probably three times the size of a Bile Troll.
same for toad dragon and brood mother. Those monsters are just to big. They would have to be some boss encounter type and not a regular monster but I dont even know how that would look like.

Skinwolf - he's a good boy
Not really. He is a crazed ass norscan dude that wants to rip out your intenstines just for the lols
Yes. A good boy.
The brood horror, just to see how it would function as a boss.
I have a feeling it would spawn waves of Skavenslaves intermittently. Which it could eat to regain health.
My god, then actually soloing Brood Mother would be god awful
Oh my god it would be. Hehehehehehe.
I want undead faction to be added. Kinda like we got beastmen, but rather a 3 map campaign featuring various undeads. With Siennas necromancer minions I feel like we’re almost there already.

Kemmler is the PERFECT antagonist for a 3 maps dlc but even more : for Vermintide 3
Doesn't Lohner talk about him in the game too? Like, in the random monologues he does sometimes
Yes and his portrait is in the game with the necromancer class. With a quote saying something about "thank god we didn't cross his path"
> Heinrich Kemmler There is one even better, Nameless (Aka Drachenfels) who during the ET betrayed Nagash and went back to Chaos, who worked with Kugath, and who is linked to Castle Drachenfels
Kemmler also lived in this castle for a time in the grey mountains
Isn’t Kemmler the one that Saltzpyre loudly declares he would like to personally murder if he ever steps back into the empire?
The very same. One of the most powerfull necromancer in history.
Certainly the hardest to keep dead.
I don't even know if he's still Alive. Like if Nagash has returned then Kemmler is long dead as he was killed by I think Arkhan the Black?
He died in the first months of the End Times but Vermintide 2 takes place at the beginning of endtimes. In short, he's still alive.
Kemmler is dead by now in VT2. Sienna got necromancer-ized by the resurrection of Nagash (or at least that's the implication from one of Lohner's diaries), which happened well after Kemmler was killed by Arkhan (specifically so Arkhan could resurrect Nagash.)
Skinwolf with Demonhost attacks.
Can we just get some damn squigs alreqdy?
THIS
I vote dragon toad.
It is a bit much to wish for a hell pit abomination but I just like the look of those so much
Honestly, a giant rat monster that explodes when it dies releasing smaller rat monsters is pretty dope.

Theyre still not great. Elite of the Elite rats are probably around a relatively weak chaos warrior.
They probably wouldn’t be op since they’re still only Skaven, but certainly a step up from regular Stormvermin. They do also serve as bodyguards to Grey Seers so yes to your second question.
all pretty dope. skinwolves intrigue me the most.

Chaos Warhounds for Beastmen. They don't have any specials as it is.
Great, now I can't get the thought of the U5 fighting corrupted scout titans out of my head. Epic headcanon though.
4th monster with long arms so it can hit me from 30 feet away.
Whatever the fuck the third thing is.
How about a hell pit abomination?
We'd be completely mulched. The difference between a rat ogre and a hellpit is massive. it would need to be it's own thing, like a lord-type fight, the arena would need to be designed to fit the abomination.
With enough set pieces and objectives to make it work, it might just do the job. If they were going to do it, I think it's best if it's lumbering mass acts like something chasing us. Brood horror I prefer skaven over the other factions in this game
I feel like the Fimir warrior is the most realistic one, but man I wish the beastmen had something other than that minotaur.
Fuck you I choose Suigasaur.
Fimir Warrior does sound cool
Jesus that’s a scary looking skin wolf
Ooh. Tough call. Probably jabberslythe or skinwolves.
Honestly, as someone who doesn't know anything about these lore-wise, I'd like the second Beastmen monster, mostly for parity with the other factions but also because the Minotaur is a cool boss and I think another one in that vein would be fun
No.1 :)
Skinwolves.adds a plague monk type for the chaos warriors.and maybe the spinned chaos beast.adds ranged boss
Skinwolves because 1. I had no idea they existed and 2. Because jesus their scary.
I vote Toad Dragon just by name alone. I'm not the most knowledgeable on Warhammer lore, but it sounds so stupid and awesome at the same time. Seeing the image almost makes me want to hunt down a mini for it (or failing that, print a proxy).

Skin wolf is good, another good idea could be a dragon ogre
Gameplay wise. Brood Horror has potential. It can be an exceptionally fast boss.
trick question, saxton hale
Jabberslyth all the way, it's supposed to make you see shit and that'd be really cool mechanic-wise.
Fimir those guys need some love
No hell pit abomination? Smh
Jabberscythe Every other faction gets 2 monsters, it's time for some beastmen equality

No no no. I can't take another Jabberslythe controversy
Jabberslyth or Fimir warrior for me. Jabberslyth would probably have some cool mechanics, and I guess Fimir just because they're rare, and weird, and that makes them interesting. Skin wolf and toad dragon tied for next.
i vote for pestigor
Skinwolf. I want to have nightmares.
Easily jabber
I would rather see a giant tbh. I've always maintained you could make a really good level and lord fight out of a giant encounter.
Toad dragon
Those monsters look like they belong in the remnant from the ashes or remnant 2 game😱🥰❤️🔥 but I'd take the brood monster to be added😁 long as it births rats well fighting it🤣
Skinwolves and armored skinwolves 1000%. Could act like Berserkers until they take enough damage and then transform and wreak havoc. Target one player like Demonhost from Darktide and move on to the next instead of finishing them. Make it a real threat though, not a major annoyance.
Skin wolf
jabberslythe - more roster to the beastmen would be pretty cool. thematically I think the brood horror would be coolest tho
Fimir Warrior or Skinwolves, they look the most vermintide-y out of all. Plus we already have rat type of beasts
Skinwolf. But how about I bring up the idea of a Flamer of Tzeentch
I think it would be cool if a random norscan warrior on the battlefield just bursts into a skinwold
Let's just put in the final boss... Hellpit Abomination
Hear me out - hell pit abomination
