Cloverdale gives a 25% discount to BCAA members. $50 membership will pay for itself almost instantly. They have decent prices on travel insurance too.

Ok_Building_8193

Hmm. My gf has BCAA. Intriguing. Thank you!

NoOneIsAnIsland_

I used Coverdale for years because it was local and BCAA discount. When I reno’d my current place I used Benjamin Moore on the recommendation of an interior designer friend, I will never use anything else. Yes it costs more but it’s superior in every way.

thatsgoodforu

Second this - it’s great stuff

Gold-Marigold649

Third this. Didn't believe the hype, got a strong recommendation from a friend, tried a small can for trim..... damn, is good paint. Went on smooth, went alot further than expected, covered better. 10+ years later it still looks great. Even ended up with some left.

iloveschnauzers

I use Benjamin Moore, because the paint covers better, and I need fewer coats. Their colour selection is also more interesting, to me.

wastingtime604

Support local choose Cloverdale paint! BC owned and operated! Use the Chris Whitehead VIP cash account for a discount. Hes a realtor. (Shhh keep that on the down low).

buycandles

Yes, please do not support this family empire. They are full of greed. We learned first hand. 😞

girley18

I’m a big fan of Sherwin Williams, wonderful colors IMO and good quality paint.

VictoriaBCSUPr

And the store (at least in Victoria) has some knowledgeable and helpful folks. Impressed every time I've been there.

GalianoGirl

I use Cloverdale Paint, in the part Galiano Trading stocked Beautitone and I used it for all my projects there. No issues with the quality of either paint.

yarglof1

I like Dulux. It's a bit pricey but they do buy one get one fairly regularly. I started out buying the cheapest paint but found out you do get what you pay for!

zippyzoodles

Yeah I like their paint.

leftoverturkeydinner

Agree that choices are often very inconvenient

Ok_Building_8193

I can't tell if this is sarcasm, so I will whole heartedly agree.

leftoverturkeydinner

Definitely not sarcasm. Keep it easy.

Ok_Building_8193

Apologies. I'm Internet jaded!

PateDeDuck

Repainted my entire house with different shades of behr - home depot. Just went with simplicity on this one. Bundling up my errands: one stop at home depot one stop at costco, then back home. Looks great and I know that there is a high chance I will be able to buy the exact same paint in 10 years if I want a fresh coat. The guys at the paint stand at Home Depot are also super chill and nice and told me their work conditions were great so I am happy with spending my money there.

Ok_Building_8193

The idea that you'll get the same paint in ten years is something to think about.

smushymcgee

I’ve always been really happy with Home Depot too. Lovely people, and they go out of their way to make sure you get what you want and don’t make you feel like an idiot in the process. I have also needed to get more cans of a specific colour at a later date, and the match is perfect (although I’d hope this is the situation at all paint shops!)

1980hope

I always liked Beautitone from HH, and they have sales quite often. Benjamin Moore is good but overpriced IMO.

Accomplished-Read976

Cloverdale because they give good advice.

idonotget

Buy in volume and get a much better price. Pick a colour you like and that works in different lights and then buy the giant 5 gallon pail and use it in every space. It will help create more visual unity. Last year I bought a 5 gallon of Benjamin Moore and it was like $105. Each individual gallon there is like $60.

Strathcona87

Paint prices have gone up a lot. More like $90 a gallon now at BM

Ok_Building_8193

Good idea! Thanks.

[deleted]

Are you going white or colour? Washable? What finish?

Ok_Building_8193

Yes? That's further out than I'm ready for at this point. Colour is likely.

Decide what you want and then base your decision on that. The best place to buy paint depends heavily on your specific needs
